Daphnes: I can play you in UTEP whenever I have a chance to go there.
IMO Akane is a good character. She does not rely so much on Instant Charge, buy you need to learn her mixups.
Keyboard player here as well.
Officially, Akane is listed as upper-mid tier. She’s fast, has good mixups, a DP, and some projectiles. All she really lacks is a lot of stuff with good range, but she can get in so fast it doesn’t seem to matter that much.
You can air throw her out of a lot of her stuff though, and some characters (like Mio) have simple solutions to a lot of her BS.
I’m having display problems with mine. The screein is to far to the left and up, where the top shows up on the bottom. Not to sure why this is?

You’ve tried adjusting your monitor first right?
Check in the config program, there’s an option for 640x480 resolution mode that you could try if nothing else works.
All right did that got it to work. I just didn’t click enter after that (everything is in ? marks for now, gotta put that Jap laguage pack in).
My next ? is I can only attack with P. I’m on a keyboard. I tried to configure my controls but no go. Any suggestions?
Found out what I did wrong.
Last ? for now. Anyone know of controller for the pc that doesn’t suck. If not, is there any way I would be able to use my SF Anniversary pads for this?

It’s an official release from Sega so the quality is definitely there. It’s pretty expensive but this is the best pad that I’ve ever used, console or PC.
I use a Saitek pad for playing PC games, works great. Has a six-button layout and two triggers. You can also get USB converters for PSX pads, but I’ve had some input lag on cheapo ones.
A PS2 > USB convertor isn’t a bad choice either. With one of those, you can use the same thing to play on PC you use for playing on PS2.
Be careful though, some convertors are only happy with Dual Shock 2 compatible controlers though… so some Hori sticks wont work right with them.
And yeah, make sure you check reviews on them first… some have lag issues. The one they sell at Radio Shack is alright, but it is iffy with anything not DS2 compatible.
The Sega pad is also really nice.

this is the adapter I bought. Works wonders and with no lag at all.
Preety cheap too. It’s actually plug n’ play, not like it says on the description. You can even use Sticks with it.
I tried something that looked like that and my Hori didn’t work right… but there are so many off-brand convertors it’s impossible to say what’s the same and what isn’t.
Yes, there are several adaptors that look like that. The one Daphnes uses has worked with regular pads and MAS sticks, so I suppose it can work with Horis too.
The other one that is reliable is the two-port that RedOctane sells. It looks just like Daphnes’ but it has a led that lets you know when a pad is plugged in.
That Sega pad was to damn sweet :smokin:

What is a good follow up to 2c xx 236+a, iad crossover? 66+b x n to corner into prefered corner combo works, but timing is hard, and might be character specific. I havent tested if an ic will help much. Is there any way to reliably combo into j. c xx 214214 + b/c? Any way to turn it into a 643216 + b, ic, 66b to corner?
