This site gives pay programs away 1 day for free- changes almost daily. MOst of it is crap, especially on the games side of it, but I’ve found a couple of good things here- like Glary Utilities
CCleaner and ClamWin are decent programs as well.

An alternative is using GIMP, but you need to install GTK. It also has a Photoshop wrapper so you could load the software and have a Photoshop-like interface.
Either way, you gotta install something extra. .NET framework or GTK. Take your pick. 
For anyone trying to run Peer Guardian 2 on Vista with uTorrent…
You need the PG2 Vista RC1 version.
Run PG2 first and then uT. If you’re trying to start PG2 when uT is already running, it’ll crash.

You ever tried to run a video and it said something about a missing codec? GomPlayer has them built in so you don’t have to install codec packs. Codec packs can actually mess up your comp. Plus it’s faster and uses less memory.

This is an IM program. It lets you log onto Yahoo, AIM, Google talk, ICQ, and others at the same time through one program. Doesn’t use too much memory, but it’s still pretty new. Can’t use webcams, audio chat, and other things available in Yahoo yet… but if you don’t need them, give this a try.
