Most of us in Illinois (including me and Tony) been using 360 and are a little more familiar with working with them.
Ps3 is still a good choice due to people being able to use their ps2/ps3 sticks. Only thing is converters which I only have one of and they are prone to being stolen.
devildigimon, if you bring your own TV and console and we have space to set it up you can run a Fate Unlimited Codes tournament.
heres a list of the TVs and consoles that people have said they could bring. If anyone can let us use your TV/console/game for the tournament or can record matches, let me know. You will get a discount on your registration fee

I honestly haven’t noticed a big difference between 360 and PS3 so far, so I think whichever setup people bring the most equipment for is best. I’ve got sticks for both so it’s not a big deal to me
Exactly. And that very rarity is whats going to make people more stingy with them. And rightfully so. So it comes down to everyone either A. having a PS2 controller and a converter of their own, B. everyone owning their own controller/stick for a system they may not own or C. Tournament organizers getting them themselves and leaving them at the consoles waiting for some asshole to steal them like every tournament, as sad as it is.
Sadly, C is the best option. Hell, I personally have had 2 Dreamcast converters stolen from me, making me not only distrust all of you but not offer up any of my own shit in a room of people I should be able to trust. So either everyone starts going to church and stops stealing shit or tournament organizers need to invest to invest to invest.
we could just have sticks hooked up to the console at all time that everyone will be forced to use as a standard. at least this way its obvious if someone jacks something since there should be the same sticks hooked up at all times, espessially if the person whos running the tournament is constantly watching
Make your stuff standout, paint it, sprinkle anti theft dust on it, whatever it takes. I haven’t had anything stolen yet and nothing got stolen at Naptown Clash. I try to watch out for other’s stuff too. Approach it like a neighborhood watch.
Everyone should be marking their stuff. Just throw a distinguished mark/sticker on it and you’ll be alright. Be respectful of other peoples property is all anyone can ask. I’ve noticed that James has had the same sticker on his PS2 for like… ever! Now, there’s no mistaking it.
id be cool if there was time we could run pool qualifier tourney, that way anyone whos travelling butt far doesnt have to go 0-2 and out, but they get 4 garunteed matches or something. meh
STHDr should be 360, so we can Run Battle Fantasia as well.
Murph, im driving kiets+gf, me+gf, webster, and nives is housing us at his place. Dunno if hes gonna accept anymore.
You’re driving ALL of those people? I mean Keits and his gf are tiny, but still take up one butt space. Webster is far from small and I don’t know the others, but DAAAAAMN. I beleive the term is “good looking out”. I have no idea what it means but it applies here, I think.
Jason, the idea of qualifier pools is doable. I will consider it and think it over. Good shit on driving a full car down though
Devildigimon, good shit, keep your stuff under wraps. I will try to help however I can to watch peoples stuff but I hope everyone also trys to look out for everyone else as well
Jason brings up an interesting point for the 360 running BF off of it as well.
Seems like there are more 360s able to be donated as well. I would imagine 3 ps3 or 3 360s would be plenty to run the tourny on.
Also: Tony or anyone else. I personally do not own a laptop, and I really want to run this on the tourny maker program. Anyone wanna help out on that regard?
This is a limited time thing that they only have released a few times and it sells out extremely fast. Today the new limited edition Final Fantasy Dissidia potion set (a total of 16 different cans) was released in convenient stores across Japan. These things become collectors items fast and often sell on ebay for quite a bit of money. Since I live in a small town I can just buy as many as I want cuz no one here cares about that shit.
So to get to the point, if I have some extra room in my luggage I can probably haul a bunch of cans back with me when I come from Japan for Frosty Faustings. If enough people are interested I would be willing to sell the cans at the event (for a slightly marked up yet still reasonable price). If you are interested in buying some potion, please SEND ME A PM. I dont want to derail the thread with this and get off topic but I figured it would be worth asking since its kinda a rare opportunity.
Once again, if you are interested SEND A PM.
Thats all. Thanks!
Also, once again, thank you to everyone who is bringing equipment. Only a few more weeks to go!
Alright update on HDRemix since me and TonyD just agreed:
**HDRemix will be ran on XBOX 360. **
The reasons are:
A. We have more 360s available to be donated.
B. PS3 version so far seems to be a little glitchier.
Pretty much A sums it up.
Now im sure some of you will not be happy because you cant use your PS2/3 controller but we are going to try our damnedest to make sure there are 360 sticks available for use. We are NOT going to provide pads, and please if possible only corded controllers so you dont have to sync up controllers every match on a different system.
Any 360 stick donations to the tourny would be lovely as well
Rules for now:
BYOController/Pad: we will have some 360 sticks available (at least 4 so far).
2/3 rounds, 2/3 games. Double elimination. 3/5 Winners/Losers finals, 4/7 Grand finals. Loser final winner must win 2 sets in the grand finals against the person in winners.
