That’s her actual jump. She seems to have the biggest jump arc in the game.
I’m really not digging Elena in this game. For a character that should fit this engine to a tee, she sure feels really off. c.MP has shitty range and it’s her only long reaching cancellable poke - just like 3S but with way less range. s.LK hits low now, which is pretty cool. Her DP is a soft knockdown and if you hit them grounded it seems they recover before she does o_O
You can’t cancel her Cross Rush into EX Moves unless you stop at c.MP, so she’s going to have a hard time confirming into her combos.
She has some mean damage with meter though, anything into EX Spinning Scythe leads into a world of hurt. Not gonna claim she’s bad or anything, but overall, I’m just not having fun with her - this coming from someone who mained her in 3S. Hell, Christie feels closer to what I expected Elena to be in this game than Elena herself - though Christie has pretty much no anti-airs.
What’s her stamina? I hope she didn’t get the capcom girl treatment. She was a 1000hp character in 3s.
Cr. mp combos into everything.
The jab mallet smash annoying travels too far compared to 3S, and it’s lost some of its priority. Plus, mallet smash doesn’t travel as high, so getting over shoto fireballs isn’t as easy.
As Jamp said, many moves are too floaty, allowing opponents to recover before she does. Though most special moves cancel or combo into other specials.
Like in 3S, she’s about strong, fast normals and EX driven combos.

Seems like she has 900 health. Did a Kazuya combo that did exactly 500 damage, then his Cross Art with Nina that does 400 and she was dead.

And damn really if she hits with her dp they recover faster than her? I doubt that
Her damage output is pretty good with meter or in the corner. She also seems really tag-friendly. With no meter and starting from pokes her damage falls off a lot.
Couldn’t get Spin Scythe to loop. I can’t hit anything after a 2 hit Spin Scythe - might be a tight link, but I wouldn’t count on it -, and during juggles the second hit whiffs so no 3S corner combos. Also normal Spin Scythe’s follow up recovers too slowly to juggle afterwards without tag cancelling.
As for her DP, It seems that way, at least they seem to quick rise before she hits the floor - only if you hit her DP on a grounded opponent though. Doesn’t seem she can be punished by it, just expect some frame disadvantage, it’s not really a big deal, just an annoyance.
I’ll only be able to test out how safe her specials are tomorrow.
I kinda wanted Elena to have Healing in this game.
Really looking forward to Elena in this game. She’s one of my 3rd Strike Five-fecta (Her, Dudley, Makoto, Q, and Hugo) Now if only Makoto and Q were in this game, it would be complete.
I wonder if when the characters are really, there’ll be tweaks to how they currently are on the disc so the stuff hackers might know now would be meaningless (well… somewhat) when they’re finally released.
I would like to see them tweak the height an opponent goes into the air after her dp. Right now it’s really low
I guess so long as it’s high enough to tag in Julia for her to hit either her b.MP or f.HP then I’ll be happy with that. Time with tell.

My personal findings testing on Ryu:
Slide(df.hk) has INSANE RANGE and can cleanly go right under projectiles.
Sweep(c.hk) can dodge projectiles
You can hit confirm with cr.lk and link into either cr.mp or st.mp for a combo
Both Light and Medium Mallet Smash(HCB.Punch) can link into st.lk, cr.lk and cr.mp for a combo
Mallet Smash as a whole always crosses over while the opponent is knocked down, even during their wake-up; Don’t know about large characters
Her Heavy TC(st.hp>st.hk) can be linked into st.lk or cr.lk for a combo
Just some stuff I thought worth noting, especially that Slide. It can knock down from almost across the screen.
When I get home I’ll download and see if anything has changed.she should be able to loop her dp in the corner. Insane range on her slide sounds great but it has to be really unsafe on block

I’d say if Elena and her opponent were to put themselves as far away as possible(stretching the camera width), her slide covers a good %65-75 of the space between them, but I wouldn’t recommend being brave against someone like Ryu even while dodging their fireball. Also I wanted to note that I’ve had some success getting Mallet Mash to hit on wake-up during some matches, it’s a little restrictive, I haven’t found out how safe it is or whether it’s possible to use it as a meaty.
Glad for Elena but what’s a fan without a complaint lol…yea none of her moves keeps them in the air long enough.they should increase the time that the opponent is in the air that just sad
