How many EWGF’s can you do in one combo? Is it max 5?

Lack of a visual cue for what? EWGF?
There are plenty of visual clues that differentiate WGF and EWGF (not to mention the different audio). In addition to what Slayer and Django listed, EWGF animation is a lot quicker as well.

Yeah 5 seems to be max (unless you use a bounce, crumple). Probably the normals used to pop up the opponent chewing up the juggle potential.

I can name four clear signals that differentiate his regular WGF and his EWGF in Tekken. Five when the move hits or gets blocked.

In this game, this differences are extremely miniscule.

You’ll get used to it in no time. I don’t even need to see the move to know it’s EWGF (I should mention that I’ve been told I have “dog ears”) and the visual cues are all very clear to me now (it was harder earlier on). That said, EWGF is so much cooler in Tekken; I’m kinda pissed at Capcom’s portrayal of the move. :annoy:

Thanks, but I’m done trying to learn the move for this game. Doesn’t feel worth the effort with how the system works IMHO.

I’m just going to wait until September to start churning out violent, thunderous uppercuts again.

.

Not worth it?!? You are seriously mistaken. That move is so crucial to kazuyas game. Great wake up attack, awesome reversal, great AA, not to mention the extra damage and extra juggle state. Hit the lab don’t give up.

Kazuya is a high-mid tier char even without EWGF ,his EX is EWGF anyway… He still has very high damage output, mist step to go through projectiles ,pretty good normals,Dragon Uppercut and Rising Uppercut to anti-air and good combos. With his easy Slaughter Hook combos you can beat a lot of people. However with EWGF he becomes even better , possibly high tier, without it he’s just a good mid one. The move is stupid good, it’s good for everything, for wake up,as a reversal,as a AA,as combo starter and as a juggler. I mean with EWGF you can do more than 400 damage and you’ll be safe if you get blocked. It’s an EX move without meter how good is that? I think it’s important to utilize it.

I understand EWGF from the purple hue and it’s pretty easy to understand it. In Tekken the normal WGF has no electric. Still I think Kazuya transitioned very well into this game. Waay better than other characters who play nothing like their Tekken counterparts.

Really Kazuya would be very bad without EWGF, he has the worst wakeup game tied with Paul, I hate when I trade my EX with someone on meaty and I get staggered really bad.

Kazuya doesn’t have many mixups either, and his crossup is kinda meh.

Yea I get thrown out of his ex or trade sometimes. Without ewgf he would be mid tier. I’m not understanding how peeps are having trouble with the lightning. I do it consistently on the POS Xbox 360 dpad.

So what do I do when my opponent starts jumping away after blocking a ewgf? C.lk never seems to stop that.

I was in the lab searching for some anti-roll setups with Kazuya, what i’ve found is when you get someone in the corner and get a hit on them, like s.hp xx ewgf, ewgf, cr.hp xx ewgf, cr.hp xx ewgf, stop at 4 EWGF’s as it puts them high enough for you to dash under them, and then you jump over them as they quickstand or just lay down, but thing is this setup doesn’t work against characters with a dp because they can hit him if they mash a srk on wakeup on the quickstand, works beautifully against character with stellar wakeup games.

You give up 20 damage for a setup really.

If they try to neutral jump after blocking a ewgf I usually jump with them and hit them with a J.lk or a J.MP. most people I fight try to backdash. if they do that ill mix them up with sweep into demon hook or empty mist step into what ever normal u like.

since you can do the mist step by doing F > DF… is it possible to do EWGF by doing F > DF+MP/HP ?

If you do F>N>DF +M/HP then yes. <br>
