Electric Wind God Fist _ Updt: 03.08.12

Picked up Kaz again, played him a while when the game came out. So, i can do raw EWGF’s pretty nicely, gotta practice alot more for the combos. Been trying to do c.:mp:, c.:hp:, EWGF and i think i got it like three times

cr.Strong, cr.Fierce xx EWGF is a nice little hit confirm combo, but you’ll find that (normal) xx EWGF, EWGF is typically enough to get just about anyone.

Learning to EWGF off of light and medium normals is a great too as well. EWGF, cr.short xx EWGF has been a very effective, very scary frame trap against many people because their default educated response to someone who can EWGF at will is to use low attacks (EWGF’s one weakness when thrown at someone who has to block it) and if I remember correction Kazuya’s cr.short is 4 frames, which means its 3 frames after a blocked EWGF, meaning you always at least trade with the other person, making your Thunder God antics horrifyingly safe.

Realizing that s.Fierce xx EWGF is the least effective normal to cancel out of outside of combos greatly increased my success when using the move. Once you can use the move consistently and without strenuousness effort, building frame trap block strings with is is a priority and Kazuya’s natural strings (Which are not true block strings) start to become pretty useless.

EDIT: Thunder God Blues

So lately, I’ve gotten to the point where I can do EWGF’s 98% of the time during matches, but there’s this weird thing where I can’t seem to get the full Mr. Naps combo to go off. Oddly enough I can get EWGF, s.Strong xx EWGF, EWGF every single time, or (any normal) xx EWGF, EWGF easily – but that s.Strong link between EWGF and s.Strong xx EWGF never seems to com out properly (and if it does, the last EWGF always seems to whiff)

Either way, you can break 400 damage with 3 or 4 fists, but its a weird problem to have, haha. 95% accuracy except when doing the combo. Still looking for a viable point character… thinking about Heihachi. Team EWGF.

Lately I’ve felt confident enough in my technique that I have been using ewgf on wake up but only on the 2p side still getting normal ewfs on 1p side. My bnb is s.HP ewgf s.HP ewgf c.Mk demon fist. Most times on a blocked ewgf ill throw a c.MP and get a free combo. Maybe its bad timing on my opponent but it never trades. Anyone have data on kaz’s c.MP? Also I would like to know what you guys do to deal with neutral jumps. It can be a big problem for me…when peeps start seeing the purple lightning they get all jumpy.

What EWGF BnB (with and without Super) are you using when tagging Kaz in?

Sorry, double post. Phone net is rubbish here

This is were I’m lacking a bit. Usually I try to go for c.HP ewgf ewgf but the timing can be weird so I usually stick with c.MP c.HP rising uppercut (the light one) to the forward kick.

Is stHP-EWGF-EWGF-crHP-Super possible after tag?

I’m not sure but I think if u drop that last c.HP and go straight into super after the 2 ewgfs it should world.

Got some success with training EWGF, but i might just play without it since the DLC chars arent that far away  Or… i just pick someone else that i havent tried yet.

Depends on what you mean by tag. Switch cancel, yes, launcher? It depends on how you do it. Going straight into Super after the second EWGF depends on the height of the character – if they are two high, you’ll bounce them with the first two hits and the last one (the one that activates the super) will whiff.

Is the consistent max damage after a launch, can hit Cr. hp after EWGF but is not reliable.

I’ll get it up. Give me a few days.

Trying out that 10,000 EWGF thing from ViolentDjango to see if i can get better. So far I’m a little bit better than when i first started ( now im 1700 in btw) but i still cant get it perfectly on P2 side.

Just wanted to ask how do you guys perform it with the most consistency. is it (Frwd , QCF) , (QCF QCF) or, (Frwd , Dwn Frwd)
On P1 i can do it really well with Frwd QCF, but on P2 side i can barely do it >.>

Unless you have some sort of technique that let’s you do the P2 EWGF in 2 fast motions then there’s only dexterity you can rely on to get it out really fast.
EWGF start-up all depends on your speed of input. But a reversal EWGF comes out in 7 frames, doing a raw one is slower.

I was hoping for an easy way out… oh well. I ve been doing it more consistently since recently so thats good i guess

I play on Xbox controller and I am consistent on 2p its 1p side that I get a lot of regular ewf’s. Dunno what it is but 2p side is ez mode for me.

I still can’t tell when I’m doing EWGF or a regular rising upper…

EWGF pushes back the opponent, normal WGF stays in their face.
EWGF is purple colored, WGF is blue colored.
EWGF does 100 damage, WGF does 70.

Note, it only pushes back on block, if you do EWGF and it hits, the other character will bounce almost straight up in the air, where as Rising Uppercut launches them backwards a ways.

Been trying Kaz for a small bit…

The lack of a good visual cue is the dumbest shit ever. Not to mention the EWGF timing in this game feels a lot less “fluid” then the original one.

Makes me wish I had my copy of T6 on me so I could practice it on that, honestly.
