Lol, I just never find an instant where I want to use it and have room for it. Then again, I’m a bit too cautious in my Kazuya play.
finally landed a nice ewgf combo in a real match
j.hk, st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf
i nearly wet myself
Its one of those things where you know the other person physically felt the electricity from the EWGF.
If I could execute as consistently as you, I’d use it for footsies, and to blow up characters like Rolento and Cammy, with their god damn light attacks.
Yeah, I just haven’t put in the lab time to make my execution tight under non-optimal situations. I can do it at 95% success rate from standing normals, crouching normals, or raw – but you also have to train yourself to execute it under pressure, mid combo, on run-in from a tag, etc.
I just haven’t worked on all of that.
I need help, now! So, I can land the WGF consistently, but the EWGF rarely happens. What am I doing wrong? When I look at the inputs it says that I’m hitting the medium on the second down-forward, how can I erase this error?
I feel you, man. I’d say just try to do it as often as possible, and work on your own personal weakness. Also, don’t worry about the outcome, or whether you will win or lose. It’s like doing a FADC into Ultra, you know that you’ll get it wrong at certain times, but if you stick with it then eventually you’ll get it right.
Landing EWGF in matches is funny. I mentally prepare myself to do a long 4 or 5 EWGF combo only to find that my opponent is dead by the 3rd one. It’s especially satisfying when then normal kills them and then they get hit by the EWGF in slow motion.
:pleased:
Edit: EWGF losing to lows is sad though (stupid Ryu and their c.mk mashing).
Yeah, it’s just something I haven’t worked on because I feel ironing out other fundamentals and match up knowledge is a more pressing issue – plus prior to picking up Marduk I had no secondary character so I was pretty much just training up EWGF and nothing else then use randoms.
It all takes time and practice.
s.Fierece KO!!
Kazuya: By the way…
Zzzzzzzztttttboooossshhhh!!
Kazuya: Go clean y’self up.
I know exactly what you mean. I remember beating Kazuya’s that had EWGF and Wavedashing on lock, but they lacked fundamentals.
fricking preach man i perform dooooooooorya and im getting swept :(…why am i so free, nice tool but downsides are quite exploitable and it seems to compliment ones game and not magically win for a player, i am learning.
Now that i praticed it and can land it in a few situations putting it all together and going into a match is exposing my weak fundamentals since im now aware of this i just cant mindlessly rush so i play somewhat passive and this goes hand in hand with kazuya’s not so amazing defensive options, my problem now is this cant necessarily all be learnt over night and im perplexed as to where to start
EWGF on block, Cr. Lk xx EWGF. Free vs. ppl who disrespect the EWGF.
This made me literally laugh out loud.
Unless they: back dash, dp the cr.lk, or CC the EWGF. Just saying, I have had it don’t to me on occasion.
God, I hope people play this game a bit longer, just to give you a chance to hit these combo’s in a real match. It’s a blast when you do! Good Luck, keep it up!
Eh, the games got a good amount of time left.
I will say, my time with Kazuya has come to an end, though. Just not my character. I don’t regret investing the time, though – ironically enough it has drastically improved my execution all around (everything except FC’s… ugh)
Damn man, any reason in particular?
Really just not my character.
It’s good to learn and experience a lot of different characters, but you’ll find the more you poke around that you can’t really force yourself to use one if it doesn’t suit your playstyle. Something about Kazuya just doesn’t suit me and it made it pretty stressful to try and play him. I like him as a character and I like his tools and assets, but I felt annoyed losing with him and annoyed picking him – I spent last night losing over and over against with Gief/Marduk while I was still getting into the swing of Gief, but not a single one of those losses bugged me as much as my Kazuya ones tend to.
If you watch the SFxT matches they posted from Fight for the Youth (which you should, they are awesome), you’ll hear them talk about how much better Floe plays when he uses characters like Jin as opposed to characters like Juri – that’s a good example. Anyone can play any character, but its when you play a character who suits your personality that you really come alive as a player. Floe’s Jin is one of the best because Jin suits how he naturally plays – so they’ll be elements of his Jin play that others can’t match because of it.
That’s kind of how I feel Marduk is for me, and Kazuya just didn’t feel like a character who suited me or as a partner to Marduk.
Granted, Gief isn’t exactly perfect for me, but he works great with Marduk and suits my wait until SFxT Vita lands.
Who wants to run some games? :3

I need some advice. When I press down without a button the game registers it as down. But when I press down and button I get two inputs. It looks like this.
Down
Down+Medium
It’s not an arcade stick issue, rather it’s my hands. Any advice?
