ok since the election is tuesday lets start a quick voting poll…who do you think is democrat and repub and why are they going to vote for mccain or obama.
Everyone in Marvel is voting for Colbert man where you been? :razzy:
what?
LOL Stephen Colbert is running for President in the Marvel Universe. There’s another guy running for President in Captain America’s comic too.
omg thats awesome…yeah i havent touched a real comic in monthhsss. lol. trades is where i’ve been living.
Ah. Yeah the guy running for President in Captain America’s comic is Senator Gordon Wright. If either one wins, it will be the first time Marvel did not pattern their “Mr. President” after the current one. DC of course had Lex Luthor as President for a while.
Honestly, not to get too political but I think most of the Marvel heroes will vote for Obama… Maybe JJJ would support McCain off the top of my head?
LOL Savage Dragon strongly endorses Obama -

You forgot about Norman Osbourn, I wouldn’t mind a psychopath as a US president, at least it’ll explain or be a clause for an questionable decisions he makes
i thought luthor was a psychopath.
Democrats? Republicans? Screw that. Anybody with any good sense will obviously be doing a write-in vote for Mitchell Hundred.
Except for Superman, who has a thing against meddling in humanity’s decisions to affect its own destiny, except for all those times. You know how it is.
He is President in Earth X. :looney:
woulda been even more hilarious if it was 70’s luke cage.
Thunderbolt Ross I can see voting for McCain. He’s a War Veteran and would probably be opposed to change. It’s the same reason I think JJJ would vote the same.
Like I said, most of Marvel - heroes anyway - would probably go Obama. Not to mention that most of the heroes reside in NY and NY always votes Democrat for Presidential Elections. I know some heroes have moved out of NYC thanks to the 50 State Initiative but they would still go Obama. The ones that care about voting anyway. I doubt Punisher gives a damn either way…
Batman and Nightwing would vote Obama since both are fairly educated and progressive.
Wonder Woman, I could see her supporting McCain early on since she’s a warrior at heart as well but would probably be insulted by Sarah Pallin so she’d switch to Team Obama.
Superman’s a tough call. He tends to stay out of political affairs. Though I assume Clark Kent would have to vote for appearances sake. Could go either way but I think he’d vote for Obama too.
Truth be told I’m pro Obama so I’m not too sure if I can seperate from my own political views to answer this fictional question…
i think as batman he would vote obama but as bruce wayne i think he’d be republican for buisness purposes.
Given that Bruce Wayne is a wealthy businessman and Batman, shall we say, is not terribly fond of crime, I think Batman’s closer to the Republican party platform than that of the Democrats.
On the subject of guns, he has used them for various things–including, at one point in his history, shooting people with them. On the whole, he is very anti-gun, but when push comes to shove his very un-liberal attitude towards crime thoroughly trumps his aversion to guns.
And giving money away doesn’t necessarily mean he’s cool with being required to give it away. Dude’s the wealthiest guy in the DCU; putting some guy’s kid through college is like tossing a few pennies in Santa’s bucket for him.
I think Batman would be Democratic on a lot of issues, like pro abortion rights, stem cell research, gay marriage (Batwoman and Renee Montoya association), etc. I also don’t see him being the Bible thumper a lot of Republicans represent.
On the other hand Obama wants to tax the rich so he may not take too kindly on him cutting into his Batmobile repair fund…
True but if Obama wins he wants to tax the rich like never before. It may not matter for Bruce Wayne since he has more money than Uncle Scrooge or just about…
see this is my thing everyone is thinking of him being 1 way or another. i believe batmans heart lies in democrats but for appearance he’s a republican as bruce wayne the business mogul he’s a republican.
goodmourning: on guns you talking precrisis bats? cause i know he used guns wayyyy in his early career.
Yeah. Batman’s been a fairly consistent character for most of his existence, but that’s one of the few things he’s vacillated on.
One point for the Batman-as-Democrat argument: he’s down with the blackness.
Bruce Wayne trying to come off as a great humanitarian, that kind of thing is HARD to pull off nowadays being Republican.
On the other hand, there are certain people who will hate him no matter what, for his Playboy persona and just for the fact that he’s rich…
Since current events don’t matter in comics too much, if Bruce Wayne was Republican it would probably be more in the flavor of Ronald Reagan (Dark Knight lol) and Alex P. Keaton of Family Ties. Boy the party sure has changed since the 80s…
Well you can vote however you want regardless of your party affiliation on Election Day. Soon as Republican Bruce Wayne steps into the booth and closes the curtain behind him he will say “OBAMA” in his Kevin Conroy-esque Batman voice and Barrock the vote, that’s my guess. :wgrin:
