i tend to agree with this
DKR Batman is hella fascist. I doubt the Republican platform goes far enough for him in terms of near-authoritarian control over the citizens. I’ll remind everyone that though Reagan was made out to be an antagonist in the book, Batman’s differences with the system weren’t necessarily over party lines.
Honestly I can’t see any version of Frank Miller Batman voting, maybe Year One. DKR Batman could care less. Ditto for GODDAMN Batman of ASSBAR, though he might for appearances sake.
According to Miller, the two are one and the same.
I can actually see DKR’s Batman walking into the voting precinct with a pen and marking everyone’s ballot himself. Who would stop him?
dkr batman i doubt truly cares about the govt and would rule as his own militaristic martial law govt.
good thing gothams on a damn island.
While I think that if Batman had to belong to one of the big two parties, he would probably be a Republican, I think it is even more likely that he belongs to neither. You know how Bruce Wayne is involved in hella charities and fundraising and stuff? Makes me wonder if the dude ever donates for political causes. There are tons of comics where we see Bruce Wayne playing the fop at a fundraising soiree, but most of the time those gatherings are for some generic or vague good cause, like raising money to feed the poor or to rescue stray dogs.
I can’t recall any specific comic book issues where Bruce Wayne actively contributes to an overtly political cause that would reveal his political bent.
Hawkman, on the other hand, I’m pretty sure is a right-winger. Green Arrow probably supports Ralph Nader or some other liberal tree-hugging hippie. And the Hulk is a Libertarian.
lol isnt bruce banner a felon? he cant vote lol.
yeah i have trouble seeing banner getting that approved.
Green Arrow is all over Dennis Kucinich like fleas on a dog’s nuts.
Colbert lost to Obama in the Marvel Universe, read the entire article since it switches gears towards the end -
Love Colbert but I’m glad. The Marvel President is always the current President and it’s gonna be great to have them refer to the back of Obama’s head as “Mr. President” Marvel style.
Savage Dragon congratulates Obama -
It was recently revealed that Pres-Elect Obama is a fan of Spider-Man. Naturally, it didn’t take long for someone to crank this out.
EDIT:
Major props to the author for getting the famous line right: “With great power, there must also come great responsibility.” It has to be the most misquoted line in the history of the superhero genre.
OR… It could be the most paraphrased line in the history of the superhero genre.
