We did alright.
Lando lost to Raiblade in the qualifier, but not without beating him one game (two out of three).
I got third in the round robin. Lost both games to Raiblade straight since I choked badly. I lost second place to Lovely Kitsune by one point just because I lost one game to Luis. I am never playing on his laptop’s keyboard again 
I did a lot better in the casuals before the ‘CA vs. TX all stars’ (that was Monday). The round robin tied thanks to Lando beating Raiblade again.
I won the Melty Blood tourney. Lando got fourth.
I’ve always wanted to play melty blood, havent gotten the chance though.

Tekken 5.1 will come out in Japanese arcades on July 11th. Most arcades should have it up and running by the 12th. Expect a huge update on that day.
The story get’s a somewhat boost from what it had, some changes. Sort of like tekken 1 version a and tekken 1 version b.
New/Playable Characters for Tekken 5.1
- Kunimitsu
- Jinpachi
- Devil (fully transformed, Angel not confirmed)
- Alex (Palette swap, customizable item for Roger Jr.)
- Miharu (Palette swap, customizable item for Ling)
so yes, the works of ogres in this game is rumored so it’s false. However, the 2 new characters seem to be Kunimitsu & Devil (transformed from Kazuya). Plus Jinpachi which is cool.
Plus the items will have even more than before, array of more colors and items as well.
Also since tekken 5 had “Devil Within” & “arcade history”. Tekken 5.1 will be released in arcade but work on the console features will begin. They didn’t state what type of modes are available but did say “expect something we’ve never done before.”

- f,f+2:1 second hit can no longer be ducked.
- d+4,2:1+2 is like T4 again. Difficulty has been changed to T4 timing as well.
if 5.1 comes to arcade, i’ll never touch 5 agian (unless people don’t play it or whatever random reason!!!)
Also, Melty Blood ReACT Final Tuned was released during the weekend. A couple people (including Tony from El Paso) were able to get the patch and brought it on Monday.
For what Bellreisa (CA player) told me, almost everyone got weakened in a way, except for Ren. However, the engine seems to be more solid, like the arcade version. So apparently whiffing or non-chaining a blocked normal won’t get you countered for free.
I still have to play it myself, but I don’t know when I will have a chance given my current situation.
