This was actually from SRK in the new info thread.
ooops sorry ill just delete my post~ ^^,
El Forte vandalism character
Cool, thanks for the convienant elf section!
Kinda dissappointed they didn’t mention the fixing of his ‘slide’ glitch… I’ve slidden through so many cammy’s since I’m still too scrubby to land an RSF loop in a match, haha
Overall I’m incredibly excited about his new ultra and he should be moving up in ranks… not that it matters, because he is still the most fun character to play. Viva la fuerte!
bleh. target combo is easier to connect now? hardly an improvement but i’ll take what i can get. i was really hoping for an input change for q-bomb. all the other stuff i can see why they changed, but IMO this input seriously needed to be a qcf motion and better startup wouldnt hurt.
I think they really sped up Fuerte’s charge to lvl 2 focus in Super - it currently takes about 1.5-2 seconds in vanilla, but in Super it seems to be less than 1 second or about 1 second to go to lvl2 focus.
From the videos and judging from the interview so far, as a whole Fuerte hasn’t really changed that much from vanilla - he is still a tough character to use that requires running away as part of the game plan a lot of the times.
While they gave him some buffs to guacamole, focus attack, and some of his normals to buff his normal gameplay - they also took stun out of RSF ensuring that Fuerte will still have tough times ahead.
Against good opponents, this type of gameplay without ultra usually lets Fuerte take about 40-60% of the opponent’s life, but of course as all Fuerte mainers know, trying to finish the rest of that 40-50% health is a tall order since by that time the high tier opponents have ultra and ex stocks to combo.
Biggest difference in super however, is the functionality of ultra 2 as a 40-50% health punisher without risking getting random SRK to ultra from doing RSF against a 40-50% health opponent.
IMO, in the dev’s mind, normal game plan for Fuerte is to use his normal moves/specials to take off 40-60% of the opponent’s life and then use ultra 2 to take out the rest.
Ah that was me playing!
I’m going to post some more videos soon.
Also for those who wanted to know about the Hakan match up… His normals in oil mode are really fast and long range. If he picks U2 then it makes life hell! Overall though its not the worst matchup by far.
Interesting T.Hawk notes: http://www.neoempire.com/forum/showpost.php?p=252613&postcount=17
Listed the most interesting ones for Fuerte mainers:
It seems there’s a chance for Fuerte to do some safe tortilla or cr.HK shenanigans on Hawk’s wakeup game - of course gotta be careful of backdash command throw like against Gief.
Does anyone know if the Shoto characters still do the reeling animation during RSF making it harder to hit? Can Rufus be RSF’d yet?
T.Hawk’s U2 destroys Fuertes ‘safe’ tortillia from what I could see.
Also what do you mean can Rufus be RSF’d? He always has been able to?
I mean’t after a jump in macho man / butt splash. Sorry should have been more specific.
i c less stun from rsf a disadvantage but at the same time we dont have to worry about stunning them early. u can just beat down on them, get their life down even more than usual without stun. go for the knock down and then mix them up into more damage and then theyll hit stun. i dont know, im just tryin to look at the bright side of things and i think we will do fine! can u imagine elf still having that much stun with a lvl2 focus that charges in less than a sec?!?! holy crap that would be over powered!! ooo and rufus is annoying, i hate that u cant really combo him off a jump in. i also learned not to lvl 3 focus him if i plan on using rsf! lvl 3 focus causes the first hit on him to make him go into the reeling motion which makes that second hit on him very frame specific. i keep my focuses on ruf down to lvl 2s now even after stuns unless i just plan on using ultra
do we know if ex guac does more damage now? or is it just non ex versions that got the boost?
All versions of guacamole gets +20 damage boost - ex guac does 180 in super.
This. Fucking THIS. I lol’d HARD
played super today! elfs ult2 is beast! way easier to confirm jumps and punish! also punished duds whiffed cr m kick and his ex machine gun blow. RSF is exactly the same and the game seems to move alil faster. flows better and the faster focus attacks are great! had alot of fun
