That Ex Guac that he uses to win the second round seems different to me. It’s catches Gief juuuuuust as he leaves the ground, and I dont recall the hitbox for ex guac being that good…but maybe it’s just cuz gief is huge?
These are happy days.
Hmm, this is why I love this thread. No super serious buffs but instead of crying, you guys are going… “Oh shit, there’s something to this.”
<3 FWEATAAAAAAAAY
it’s only because Capcom didn’t give us sunglasses to hide our tears.
Thanks a lot for the video Zujira and Tofu Warrior. Looks like Fuerte remains top tier in terms of fun
Its hard to tell if he got health or damage buffs from this video, but its hard to completely negate the possibility as well. I think the hitbox for EX guac has always been this good, but it could have improved slightly, hard to tell.
I just thought about this after watching the video. Ultra 2 seems to work better as an anti-air in close range, and might work really well against dive kickers since even if they dive kick, they will still fall for the spark as it has a fast startup and decent range. It seems more versetile than Ultra 1, but it doesn’t make ultra 1 completely obsolete since ultra 1 is still a better punish for back jumpers. But it could still easily overtake ultra 1 as the ultra of choice if it proved to have more unique and dangerous uses like the OS Dawgtanian mentioned.
Aero might be right and he just messed it up, but it looked like it was more forgiving with the timing. I think Tofu might be right, or maybe I’m just looking through the same Mexi-Chef eyes as he is.
Reassurance that EX Guac is still one of best moves. Excellent
Hola!
Some friend that works as a game journalist has received yesterday a copy a SSFIV dvd that claims to be the latest release, so maybe it’s the final build. Lot of people have meeting to its house and check the game all the night, so I tell you my impressions.
Game speed same very similar, so I don’t appreciate any difference using focus with Fuerte,
Fuerte movements is exactly the same, except that the new ultra is a very very strong tool that you can launch as a reversal in some of new ways. People are now very scared when you have ultra and is called ultra spark, so they play more defensive because this ultra is very useful and is very easy to land if they are playing offensively, also, with full ultra it does** 500 of damage!** I catch lot of things as reversal, so we need to do a full list when SSFIV is ready for everyone, since this ultra is fantastic. The main problem of that ultra is that you can jump with reaction
In training mode I see the output of damage and all seems to be the same except.
He has 950 stamina! (Viper has too)
So, tortilla was Nerf and guacamole has buffed.
Sorrry my English, I am from Spain, and there is no Fuertes here that it uses as a main, I am using fuerte for a month (I am still a novato), since my idea is to switch it as a main since now on SFIV and SSFIV.
For sure, with his new ultra spark El Fuerte is gone be more competitive!
Wha? Why would they nerf tortilla propeller?
It doesn’t seem that way in the ELF v Gief footage though, but of course it might be different builds.
Still, nerfing tortilla propeller seems very unnecessary although buffing guacamole a bit is good.
So Tortilla does 132 damage now? That seems a tad strange… I was hoping for a Fajita damage buff.
Extra damage on Guac? Sounds good to me. Hopefully it won’t trade so damn much without EX.
Whoa, 500? Good man.
Info bueno, Threelions. Es tan mal que Tortilla se debilita pero Guacamole es mejor asi soy feliz. Por que gente dice cosas difrentes para la velocidad? Los videos se parece mas rapido que los de SFIV.
Perdoname, pero espanol es no mi idioma primero.
I dont see the rationale in nerfing tortilla. I dont remember anyone bitching that it was OP lol
Here’s hoping that they nerfed damage because it got extended grab range.
Also I think it’s funny that there’s like 15 guys who post here and are looking forward to Super Fuerte. We should meet up at EVO lol
If I wasn’t a college student with a possible summer job and such, I’d be heading there. I’m hoping to be there for EVO 2012 since I’ll be 21 by then.
Oh, and these are almost all the Fuerte’s outside of Japan, lol.
Yeah. Ultra spark and FGB are game changers when they land. FGB for jump happy noobs. Ultra Spark for people making mistakes with slow stuff.
Guac damage buff is good. That means weaker fuertes can hk>guac for a bit more damage. Nothing wrong with it. Tortilla nerf saddens me. But given it’s already amazing uses we really can’t complain. I think it’s fair. It already beats several dps and ken’s super. I’ve caught Ken out of ultra once. And given safe tortilla’s use, yeah. We’ll just say we overcooked it. Hey! Flowchart Amigos!! Go get us More avocados!!!
Honestly, I kinda hope it turns out that Tortilla’s damage is still at 150. Seems odd since I just can’t think of any move in the game that does a strange number like 132. Or maybe that’s just me being ignorant.
LOL. Yeah. Looking at the last dozen or so pages, it really is only a couple handfuls of people interested in Super Elf. EVO meet-up would be badass. Grab some mexican food/cerveza/tequila.
Wish I could hit up EVO this year, but USAF tech school is where I’ll be.
Yes the damage seems the same in the video or that could because Gief has lower health. So the nerf may be true, though I have NO idea why they would nerf anything Fuerte has.
I honestly hope the tortilla nerf is not true, there is really not much reasoning behind that. Yes it is a very useful move, but it was not that damaging to begin with. IF normal guac trade is fixed along with getting a buff though, then I think I can handle the tortilla nerf a bit better.
Still hoping for some subtle changes to Qbomb and Fajita, I know they will be slightly more useful with people relying more on faster FA in the game, but they still are very risky moves without enough reward. Even a stun buff would help a lot to put a scare in opponents
Overall I am still happy If the Spark is really that good then it really can be a major game changer and enough to secure a mid tier spot for out beloved luchador.
might be difficult for me to go to EVO this year, but still not impossible. If I can’t this year, then I will do my best to go there on the next one! Will try to meet you there KumaOso at 2012 as well
Fuerte community FTW XD
EDIT: And 950 HP for Fuerte is awesome! Seems like we will have a lot less difference in HP spread among characters in general in Super, which is very cool.
What’s up guys, a fellow SF4 Fuerte main here, I’ve been lurking this thread for the past few weeks or so, and I’m way excited for our luchador’s changes Just wanted to reveal myself and add one more to the handful of those committed to Fuerte (he’s the only reason I still play Sf4 =/).
I, too, am curious about the Tortilla nerf though. Is it because Fuerte noobs spam it and other noobs don’t know how to get out of it?? Even that doesn’t seem to warrant the nerf…
Also, a little off the current topic, but are there still no good shots of Fuerte’s new alt? I know there was a blurry scan of him bellyflopping Fei in his ‘Aztec’ gear a while back, just wondering if something more official has surfaced since then.
Believe me, if there was more info on El Azteca Fuerte, I would’ve reported it ASAP. I’ve already called it.
Tortilla may have been nerfed because combined with the other buffs, he needed some minor nerfs to balance him out.
Man, congrats on the HP buff, guys.
And the 500 damage Ultra Spark has me terrified.
