If Ibuki is going to be similar to Viper (as per the interview), then expect another one of those matchups where the one who scores the first knockdown is most likely the winner. Not very crazy about those matchups, but at least they are still considered 5-5 I think. Ibuki seems a lot faster than Viper though, so that can’t be good unless Fuerte gets a notable improvement as well.
If the game in general is going to be more focused on offense than plain SF4 (which seems to be the case), then that is even more reason to improve Fuerte’s defense and wakeup options. OR make his offense also on par with the best to make up for lousy defense.
The wait is killing me T_T I want to know at least one improvement before the game launches damn it… and second ultra doesn’t count since EVERYONE is getting a new one as well, I want some character specific info…
The training lobbies idea sounds great, but I might not be able to join in since my connection is not great (and I am too far from the US where most of you are located).
EDIT: Damage Buff + Faster Normals = Pure ownage XD
I’d take faster normals over harder hitting normals (Exception: Dropkick) would be enough for me. with better overall tools he’ll be able to do more. Granted Fajita Buster needs more damage, and better recovery ( It recovers far slower then tostada, and is far less useful), Gordita need an overhaul, and Q-Bomb needs better startup and recovery (level 1 Q-bomb being -17 on hit is retarded).
Also, every normal except Shower Kick (f+mk) and Dropkick (far s RH) and Slide (cr HK) should cancel into run.
When are we getting our matching sigs?
Edit: Akashwan, on your signature, it’s quotation*. Quote is the verb form
Whenever I get back into getting the ideas together. Unfortunately, I’m no photoshop wizard so if I were to make it, it would look cheap.
lol I thought quote and quotation can be used interchangeabely as a noun when speaking informally, but thanks for pointing it out. I made my sig shorter now as I think it was a bit long
Regarding the stamp, KumaOso and Vanilla are doing a fine job in cooking it so far, you can see the latest progress here: http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=160699&page=48
Take your time guys! cooking is an art after all
So what is El Fuerte getting that is known? I see alot of speculation, but I can’t seem to find facts. I would love for him to have better a better wake up game.
I will like
-Slighty more health,950 or 1000. Is often exposed and fight close… all his defensive game is based on guessing, why give him low health?
-Slighty more damage for his two special run throw
-An EX version of his two special run throw
-slighty more range for his close HK
And maybe
-a 360 special throw from near,to give one more option at his run game
I mean: run -> stop with LP -> special throw
I’d wish I knew. He needs plenty of work just to be able to compete as is. Nothing concrete since…well… No one really played him in the Vegas build etc. I do hope they reveal something soon. We need something to look forward to
I don’t think we will know anything till release… all what they keep talking about is Vega and Guile… Fuerte is definitely not getting enough love…
I like Fuerte having 900. I’d be actually kind of let down if they gave him 1000.
Tortilla is fine for damage since it’s so awesome. But Fajita could definitely use more damage and/or stun.
EX version of his tortilla and fajita? I dunno. EX Run is already bomb enough.
If you’re gonna hit them with a 360, why not use tortilla or fajita out of run? I mean, if I plan to run-stop it’s probably because I’m going to shoot down a jumper with EX Guac or I’m baiting a silly reversal so I can my very shady (very scrubby) RSF or punish with a grab if I’m playing online. A 360 just seems redundant considering his options. To me, at least.
on paper, EL Fuerte has plenty of tools, great mix-up game and has great damage and stun just like Akuma. (you don’t give a lot of stamina to this type of character. for example, Akuma or even Viper, if all her tools worked properly, would be broken with 1000 hp). in reality, unlike Akuma, some of EL Fuerte tools are just plain ineffective, his mix-up game is wasted because of low damage output and his options for high damage is very limited. in short, he’s not all what Capcom thought he was going to be.
I mean this, but just have a special (360 or maybe hcb) that do more damage and had more priority than the normal grab
An upclose non run based grab would be nice, as it would add to mixup and actually make HIS recovery options that much more diverse, how does Meaty slide to command grab sound? or LP block string to grab? Just make it low damage high stun or high damage low stun. granted using it out of run would be a waste as it would fall prey to the usual DPs and jump back kick
EX Tortilla would be a waste. Tortilla already does great damage and has a myraid of uses on its own, it baits, it beats uppercuts, all that. It’s just as useful and varied as real life tortillas
I want an EX Wall Splash!
I agree that a 360 grab would actually help. If you are pressured, you are likey to either EX run away or EX run and counter with Fajita/Splash/Tortilla to get out. But let’s not forget that you can get grabbed out of the run if the other guesses that, so his current run based command grabs are not great in getting away from pressure. A normal 360 command grab beats all normal throws and makes Fuerte’s wakeup options a bit better. Sounds like a reasonable improvement to consider.
Well… As useless as gordita is… if we did/could get a grab option, that seems like a good place to put it. But that’s just me.
A wake up 360 command grab into Small Package would be sweet.
I just think a standing 360 wouldn’t fit his high-flying design, you know? As handy as it could be, it’s not really his style.
He just needs 6-1-9 and he’ll be good
