El Fuerte - SSF4 AE Updates, Videos, and Discussion Thread

Just tested this; can confirm. Not only this, but it also beats all his DP wake-up (including EX) options except his lk version (lk dp). It also beats all his teleports except EX.

@MTLer: It was cool to see an Elf make it so far and I’m glad you managed to get a Fuerte in the top eight. Watching your matches, it seemed a lot of the times you were just auto-piloting. You weren’t really playing the match-up or the character, you were just using general mix-ups. Not that there’s anything wrong with that style of play, but, for instance, if you knock Ibuki down, you can safe jump the shit out of her all day. If you have U2, you can OS jump-in to punish any dash wake-up and you can always block and punish her ex dp. You can also OS cr.hk for the same effect.

Also seemed like you used raw run xx slide a lot outside of punishes/combos. That move is so punishable it hurts.

Other than that, you made some really great reads and have a fluid Fuerte. Well played.

Btw, I’m not making out like I’m a better player in any respect, or that I could ever get top eight in a tournament… Just giving some constructive criticism.

Looks like Yang’s EX teleport, just like bison’s ex psycho crusher can get grabbed on it’s start up. Ultra spark time

I’m getting teleports against the twins after crLP 2-3 to overhead. Seems random. Not sure. But hey, it’s throwin’em off even more. I’ll take it.

Has anyone been having difficulty with Gen? I can’t seem to win against a single one since AE.

Haven’t fought any in AE yet. though it’s to be expected given his two styles and how each has a different jump arc etc.

thought this vid needed extra mention, I’d have to see a vid of Iori’s hands. But taking a guess here this is just what helps the player keep a rhythm I suppose.

Gen is still the same from super got to slide on his wake up but watchout for ex up kicks since they beat the slide air grab when he is in the air and back off on his wake up when he has ultra meter it’s very easy to stun gen since he is a 900 stun character. on another note can anybody tell me something about framedata is the - or + sign better i mean el fuerte’s cr. HK (slide) -1 is the + on his moves a bad thing?

dont worry dude its all good, thanks for the advice.

Yeah i was a bit autopilot vs dragon god, i wish i could have that back, theres so much things i planned going in to the match but just didnt do due to nerves and pressure.

the run slide i did because he didnt seem to know it was punishable. im salty about that ibuki match. Vs mins bison i got bodied, didnt know how to handle the bison crusher mixups. no bisons in my scene at all.

Framedata represents how many frames advantage or disadvantage your character has over the opponent after recovery compared to the opponent’s hitstun/blockstun. A minus sign means disadvantage, a plus sign means advantage. So, in the case of Elf’s cr.hk slide, -1 means that if they block it you’ll be in recovery 1 frame longer than they’re in block stun (thus 1 frame disadvantage). However, since most moves in this game start up in three or more frames, it’s very hard to punish a move that is -1. A three frame jab from a character like Boxer will hit you before you can throw, though, since throws start in three frames, and you’ll only be on your second frame after recovery when it is hitting you; so, you’ve really got to block or back-dash in this situation.

but slide moves are weird. if u hit at the end tip of the slide u can have alot of positive frames on block.

Bingo. I use this as the basis of my shenanigans with slide, doing it meaty, at the tip, early to make it whiff and recover RIGHT as they stand etc.

Why is far MP #3 AND #8?

I AM ERROR

Got Top 8 at a tournament this past weekend and also I have the honor of being the first Luchadore to be featured in a “I quit” match, loser drops their main

I apologize for the pants…to hype >.>

WARNING: any ideas to use this match without giving credit to the participants, the tournament, or commentators (Iceman,Dogysamich,Funky P, and Raph) will result in you being a complete asshole

POWER-BOMB

“That’s what happens when you try to think in a Fuerte match”

Speaking of thinking,

Don’t think, FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!

A turtle Yun is a problem. it’s hard getting past Palms and reaction DP beats pretty much every option off the run.

also, its hilarious when you get swept while in mid-air

Good stuff. Will check the vids out soon. (at work)

I noticed I’m behind on something else: gonna check the cast on their focus attack and see which ones make Fuerte’s far hk whiff first hit, trades on correct release, and straight loses to dropkick.

Just consolidate it all on one post bro.

Far HK vs Focus

Spoiler

Adon’s Focus will absorb first hit and then beat the second one clean.

Absorb 1st hit and Will Trade (with perfect release)
Dhalsim, Blanka

Will whiff 1st hit (they duck it)
Cammy, Honda, Sakura, Rose, El Fuerte, Hakan (beware of Oil up)

Will hit them with both hits
Ryu, Ken, C.Viper, Bison, Sagat, DeeJay, Seth, Gouken, Ibuki, Makoto, Dudley, Cody, Guy, Guile, Abel, Zangief, Rufus, Juri, Fei Long, T.Hawk, Gen. Yun, Yang, Emo Ryu, Oni

Akuma steps back enough to make stuff whiff.

Unsure/same as Akuma:
Dan, Vega, Chun, Rog

Note 1: at max distance of Far Hk, it will hit everyone on first hit except for Duck group/Akuma/unsure group, regardless, if the opponent holds focus the second hit of Far Hk will whiff. You eat level 3 focus. If they let it rip, they likely eat the second hit (counterhit), some will hit some will miss. This means 2nd hit of far hk (obviously) has less range then first.

Note 2: if you do drop kick after level 2 focus flash and they go for level three, they will absorb the first hit and will prolly smack you out of the second hit, sending you flying.

Note 3: if Seth releases focus from max range prematurely/poorly he will eat both hits, not focusing either.

Did this stuff on 3D Edition during my commute home.

Edit: added AE peeps

Some GiPie matches.
