I wouldnt say its our only reliable normal, but it is reliable on most situations.
far mp remains a good poke. Far hk and crHP retain their uses.
CrLP is simply that damn good now and merits abuse
You are right and of course you can do:
Jump :hp:, :hp:, GorditaSobat, FDAC, Crouching :lp: x 4 - Don’t remember the damage/stun
RSFx4, GorditaSobat, FDAC, Crouching :lp: x 4 - Don’t remember the damage/stun
In Super I used to connect RSF after Shower, but I can’t combo anymore… someone can confirm this.
That has never combo’d in any game…
That is true… Shower RSF dont combo, I did that so many times that I swear it combo’d, sorry I was drunk, anyway the others are legit

You can RSF after a counterhit shower kick.
It happens very seldomly, I have done it personally…but I don’t think it is something consistent enough to merit any extended thought on the matter.
I’d like someone to take this to the lab.
In super I could periodically combo a gordita sobat into crLP. This should be easier to do now.
Also. RSF to crLP should be easier too. I figure since crLP is so safe now this should be a viable option to end RSF to tack on extra damage, waste time AND safely cancel to run to get clear.
Going off of Super’s data, GS to cr.LP is a two frame link so it’s worth a shot.
why rsf to c lp? It does less damage than going to c. mk, has less range than c. mk (c. mk you can get farther away), and c. mk hits low.
Good stuff from you guys, I was stream monstering last night. You got a ton of matches in SpeedBrkr nice performance overall, but lack of RSF hurts me a little inside :\
Sorry for the double post, but had a question bout the Yun matchup. What’s a good setup to do on him after landing a Fajita? Usually I’ll go for an ambiguous meaty j.FP or another fajita, but I keep getting hit by his damn upkick or he straight up escapes with it. Is my safe jump timing rusty or is it just not worth trying to meaty a Yun?
I ask mostly because Yuns love to get caught by Fajita when they’re tryin to gain some meter by whiffing palms. I just don’t really know how to keep the pressure on him after he’s knocked down.
you can do F+mk, if he upkicks, youll teleport behind him.
I say go for a crossup setup with fierce and OS run.
still whoring crLP in the lab here’s what I got
Shower kick, clLP, crLP x3 143 damage 255 stun you can get 4 on Oni.
Shower kick, crLP x4 = 143 damage 255 stun
ClHP xx run, stop, crLP x3 = 165 damage 275stun
clHP xx run, stop, crLP x2 =144 damage 240stun
compared to fierce run slide’s 190 damage 350 stun using crLP doesn’t seem to have a good purpose as a combo ender.
Matches today:
The twins are so corny. It’s like they were placed in the game specifically to let scrubs win. I dunno. Establish that you’re not scared of them I guess. Once you block the damn dive kick it’s time to block jabs and watch for tick throws.
Also. Anyone got anything against DAT ROSE?!? I feel like I can’t touch her sometimes. She’s got something for everything I got.
Looks like crLP can beat soul spiral.
Edit: A BIT OF THEORY FIGHTER/PENDING LAB WORK: gonna check frame data in the morning. I think we can do frame traps/fish for counterhits with far MP and crMK after 3-4 crLPs. I was timing far MP and crMK with the same timing as crLP after finishing a chain of them and I think it can work. There’s an obvious stall for shower kick so trying to reset/pressure with crLP x3~4 shower kick, repeat seems risky.
Thank you sir! I so wanted to RSF to punish his whiffed Cannon Spikes but I was mistiming my focus attacks and she ended up falling to the ground. I did the best I could to stay calm and focused but when you’re up against one of the best Japanese players in the world with near perfect execution it’s still very intimidating! This experience definitely helped me level up and I recommend any of you to play top/pro players whenever you get the chance in person!
Densuo, just get that knockdown on her. After the U2 nerf, she’s much, much, much, much, much, much… (three days later) much easier. Just be mindful of her range.
Also, now that we’re talking about cr.LP, this stuff’s Yun’s EX Lunge.
IPeru is free.
It’s great how that one jab pretty much eliminated the need for ultra.
Gah. I forgot to check the frame data.
How so, King Julian?
I do a lot better against Rose when my ground game is solid and I play patient. Far s.rh, s.mp, c.lp, shower kick, run stop mixups are good tools. The less I tried to take to the air and the less I tried to “fish” against Rose the better I did against her. Loss of U2 and gain of c.lp blows up a lot of Rose’s shenanigans. When Soul Spiral isn’t free and she can’t get out of jail free with U2 it opens her up that much more, the matchup feels a lot better in AE than Super. The biggest thing for me was just experience though. Knowing the spacing of her normals and setups makes a bigger difference than just generic advice.
