Well, i am definitely in no way disagreeing with you that he could have been given a much better “buff”. I am only arguing that it is a buff from a technical standpoint. I would have personally loved it if Capcom gave Fuerte better normals and some decent new combos (or a crappy one that works REALLY good in the corner).
Yo guys, I havent stuck my head in here for awhile. Anything I should really know about AE Fuerte before I sit down with it next week? I need to download all your knowledge before Evo
abuse crLP
Even though I’m playing with other characters like Fei Long, Hakan, and Juri, I somehow still come back to playing Fuerte, only because I trained with him for so long. But to this day, I have yet to get down the RSF. I can do it, but not consistently, which is annoying as hell. And his pacing is so damn fast, and the rhythm he has to his moves is atrocious, especially when it comes to canceling normals into runs, then canceling into another normal. It’s not like Akuma or Sakura, or anyone else where you are timing button presses and special moves from chains to links. With El Fuerte, you have another variable added: the spacing. And that screws up everything. Now not only do you have to worry about canceling your dash fast enough to meet the hitstun, you have to make sure you have the right distance. And with Fuerte, that’s essential with his rsf.
Sometimes I wonder if the effort is worth the reward. I’ve seen some godly offense thus far from some Fuertes on videos with AE.
IN Arcade edition you can still punish machine gun blow on block with ultra 2 even though ultra 2 is 4 frames now
El_Cor, the slower the rhythm the better.
Being able to do RSF is definitely worth it. It’s the touch of death most times.
4 days till Fuerte is amazing
And that we see Nintendo’s new console. I really wanted to be off from work that day, but at least I can adjust to AE Fuerte AND watch a bunch of trailers and press conferences!
can’t wait to play with El Fuerte in AE the anticipation is killing me
Once I download I’ll get on updating fundamentals and checking for any other damage differences etc.
The Yun Army’s bodies ain’t ready for the splash mountain.
I keep getting EX runs when I do my normal RSF in AE. I’m not doing as many reps as non-AE either. I dunno… gotta learn a new method or something. I was getting 6 to 7 reps on average when I was messing around in old super last night.
you want a super ambiguous setup for Yun? after splash, just slightly tap forward and cross up j.fp… I havent had any yun block that shit yet
^ I will use that.
Also Sinix, you just need to acclimate, it isn’t any harder. I won’t say it is definitively easier, but it is definitely more consistent. I have a much harder time dropping it in AE… Honestly, if you land an RSF, you should be stopping just before stun every time…
Is it me or did they give Tortilla the ability to grab DPs again?
I was playing against burnyourbra and Tortilla caught her DPs at least twice, and they weren’t even the HP versions.
Check your replays and slow mo it. Times for some lab work?
also:
Jab Combos
Crouching :lp: x 4 105 damage (175) Stun
Counter Hit Focus Attack Level 1 (crumples), dash forward, Crouching :lp: x4 153 (255)
Focus Attack Level 2 (crumples), dash forward, Crouching :lp: x4 158 (280)
Focus Attack Level 3 (crumples), dash forward, Crouching :lp: x4 218 (330)
I don’t have the replays anymore. However, burnyourbra told me I kept stuffing her medium DPs and I’ve been constantly hit out of light DPs. Should keep an eye out for this.
As a pad player, I had the same problem with AE as the run-stop is now 0 frame of recovery. I was using the PPP button for my HP and it looks like I’m now negative edging my run with PPP. Question of timing of course, but I still get EX runs about 10% of the time (which suck). I’m still trying to unlearn that almost intuitive RSF timing I learned over the last year and a half…
Might as well remap some buttons on my controller…or kick my ass and learn to play with my stick…-_-’
I really like El Fuerte now in AE, the nerfs didnt bother as much as I thought it would. I must say the c.lp is definitley usefull. I used it multiple times to stop certain rushdowns, and an addition to my mixups.
Cr. lp? That’s our only reliable normal?
