Turtling? don’t run. take the life lead. then proceed to out turtle. see the video in the matchup thread.
If he has Ultra you should be nowhere near him.

funny i just played a turtle blanka today. really all you need to do is wait for him to roll at you, then run slide quickly. just be watchful of your spacing cause he can stop right in front of you and throw. after that, you can run away as much as you’d like. i prefer to keep pressure on until he has ultra, then short wall jump him to bait ultra.
everything else is posted good sir.
for blanka and his ultra, they love to wake up ultra! use this to your advantage. fake a run away from his body and as soon and he wakes up with his ultra, you should have canceled the run by then. you should then ex guac ftmfw! its rad and its a slap to their face!! oo and just turtle back. and if they have the life lead, bait blanka balls with runs, block and punish. blankas are still tough though
just a side note to the people who didn’t watch the vid that i can NOT seem to find at this time…(tetsu vs some blanka i think)
if you want to ex guac blanka out of his ultra, you have to do it when he’s coming down from his pounce, NOT GOING UP. he’s invincible going up.

Rufus is very hard matchup for fuerte as is everyone because fuerte can dish out pressure but he cant take it for shit. Against Rufus what I usually do is get life lead then turtle and make him come to you. On knockdown if you want to go crazy let him have it until gets ex after then be very cautious Ex massiah gets him out of mix up for free but loses to EX Guac. Also be very careful when your mixing him up snake strikes beats tortilla but not splash and never jump with rufus is jhk beats everything you have in the air for freeeee, and usually leads to EX snake strikes/ultra Ex strikes by itself takes away 1/3 of your life :xeye:. Now when rufus is pressuring when you have a rufus who just likes to dive kick spam those arent combo links, on the second one if he tries it you can EX run away. Well thats pretty much a very basic layout of the Rufus matchup sorry its soo sloppy.
Side note on Seth: lk guac > seth’s air stretch.
go to town on him unless he has meter. f+mk goes through ex messiah. lk guac works very well against divekick spam.
also tortilla works on his landing from a dive kick if timed right…
you cant mix up rufus, even when he doesnt have meter
tortilla loses bad to wakeup instant divekick
splash loses bad to wakeup focus
youre reduced to a generic low/throw/manual overhead mixup on rufus’ wakeup, and you have to guess right way more than he does. also good luck getting rufus off of you
also watch and lol as rufus gets to combo lk -> hp -> hp spin at ridiculous ranges since fuerte is so fat
lol dang that makes sense…thanks buk! =) …do you have any matchup thoughts against other characters ,or any corrections? this thread needs some more pro input(im not one of course heh) i think we get some good feedback here, but i think all the more we have will make us better fuerte players…=) i have a question? If you dont mind. i heard the term “frame traps” from a friend of mine… does he have any?
Works on Dhalsim too.
If properly spaced standing HK/Roundhouse works very well against Rufus. I use it all the time against him. I have used it as a anti-air and from what I have noticed even if you get hit you can still have time to escape without taking serious damage. It also works wonders against his Messiah kick(it completely stops it:badboy:).
Frame trap… Sounds like block strings.
Although perhaps Akuma’s far st. HK ~ cr. LP repeat thing is what you mean by a frame trap. It’s escapable.
Also, will update matchups with latest info gathered tommorow morning.
i know thats what i was saying too… but i heard its different (i was guessing around the whole akuma loop-ish reset ,but im not sure?)…i dunno what it is though? i feel lost lol
frame trap: player puts himself in a situation of frame advantage against the opponent. afterwards if the opponent does a non-invincible move, the opponent gets counterhit into (typically) big damage
examples:
chun c.lp, CH (counter hit) close roundhouse xx hcb+mk, c.lk, ex legs
fuerte meaty slide, {c.mk xx run -> stop} x3
gouken low jab, CH close fierce xx ex palm
Sweet! lol thanks again man… thought i was nuts for a min. …so should i bother trying to find out more with fuertes,or would it be smarter to just stick to c.mk xx run -> stop (x3) ? … Just wanna know all of his options… i feel like im becoming limited because of my lack of consistancy lately… i will be nuts for a min. then i will get body rocked pretty bad … so i just feel i wanna learn more options. doesnt help that i constantly play my worst matchups a high level akuma player that knows the matchup a ton better than i do…and a pretty good rog player… what to-fricken do?

This should go in the vids section…
his only offense was you eating SRKs on a missed RSF the Tortilla where you got SRKd was since you did the tortilla too late.
Feint more.
My bad.
