That was either Paper or ElToro. In other news, I just created a XBL training thread. You should come by and sign up.
Looking for some mirrors tonight. Anyone interested? :karate:
EDIT: Oops. 360. XD
I have been using tortilla less mainly due to its smaller hitbox, as it whiffs in situations that would have worked in vanilla, that gets more apperant and annoying against characters with smaller hitboxes. safe tortilla still applies well though, setups are still intact.
One option that I am really starting to like in okizeme games is run back stop -> jump airthrow or jump fierce cross up, both are very effective in killing backdashes and avoiding/punishing uppercuts if timed properly.
Damn. One year I’ll go to Evo. Eventually. I may be too old to have any reflex left by that time, but I’ll get there one day. Congrats on those who went and repped Fuerte.
Densuo: Yeah, I’ve cut down on Tortilla a lot in Super. I’m going for Fajita a lot more, just for the extra damage, and so I don’t have to hear the new watered down Tortilla sound effect.
What’s a good time to use a charged attack? I find I can never get one in.
By charge attack do you mean Focus Attacks or Quesadilla bomb?
Focus attack can be cancelled out of. I find it more useful as a bait then an attack. It’s an easy thing to use after baiting an uppercut to easily setup rsf.
Qbomb is good versus horizontal attacks like hurricane kick. It’s handy when your opponent is turtling. But as much as I like it. It’s a shenanigan. And should be treated as such. So use it very sparingly since it’s recovery time is lousy.
Just like me applying stuff outside of class, I’m having issues applying what I’ve learned in endless matches to other matches. I can’t see to quite remember everything that I need to do, and I’m doing some of the stupidest shit like psychic Guacs and Ultra Sparks. That and just about everyone I’ve played online has been a runaway Ryu. Just today, I’ve lost nearly 600 PP from making stupid mistakes. I fall back into my bad habits (I really need to stop playing Ranking).
Do you guys have any advice?
Dont play online lol, you should ask people you know or people on SRK, winning online is easy but the whole point is to learn something new. You wont learn shit online
Believe me, I don’t really learn anything in ranking aside from what beats what and that’s by accident. I use endless so I can chat with players so we can improve. Some of the people I play with are from SRK, like you and Spab, others are those I’ve met in various matches.
The problem with me asking people I know is that I’m, within my knowledge, one of the only two players that consistently play El Fuerte so I’m only able to get so much information out of people I know. I have a better chance of getting Ibuki help.
What are you trying to get help with exactly.
The stuff in my signature and just retaining it.
Oh i see, we should play sometime then and ill try and help you out more. Mix ups are odd for me though i usually just let up pressure to try and see what they do then act accordingly, then again i suck lol
haha yea. I hardly even Qbomb, cause i’m always caught up in other moves
Honestly the only time i use q bomb is when i need a surprise attack, and if i do it i need to have 2 meterss to cancel out and either bait a throw, or actually throw.
Look at your replays. Especially your losses. I’m sure offline wins are more valuable. But I still believe there are something we can learn even online.
I’ve really gotta stop mashing my ultra 2. It makes me lose all the time.
Quesadilla bomb is not really a good move. Not to be used regularly at least. Extremely punishable. Two bars are better spent on EX run/guacs. It’s a good move for focus-happy players and to catch someone off-guard at the end of the round. Don’t quite understand all the love for it. Other than the fact it’s a fucking awesome chest bump that breaks armor.
So I learned the exact same thing this year at evo that I did at last year’s evo. I need to use guac more. Sad that I didn’t learn it and actually implement it last year. As shown in my match vs wong, jumpy players own me. So many missed anti-air opportunities, I even knew he was jumping on wakeup the last 8 times and still just went for tortilla. Even after ski told me to not try to abuse tortilla.
Okay, EVO is over and it was fun.
Now is the time to start a strict discipline in a training schedule if you want to do well with Fuerte in the coming majors.
Training Room is where you should do your practicing. I have experienced this first hand too many times to let other Fuerte’s suffer my pain.
Stop playing Fuerte online, you have to adjust RSF to the input barrier due to the lag, no matter how minute it may be. Fuerte is fine to play if you substitute RSF for C.RH to HK guac, if you must play fuerte online then do not use RSF.
RSF practice everyday if you don’t have it down, or at least everytime you are able to, for at least an hour- You have to build muscle memory once RSF comes out as easy as CL. RH to RH guac you will have a fighting chance against other players, you need a solid damage combo otherwise all you would depend on is guessing right (or haphazardly throwing out stupid moves that may or may not hit the opponent)
Get your shower kick xx jab xx cr. short cr. forward combos down and then use them only in offline matches. Online will only disrupt your goal to properly do them in tournament matches.
School is coming up and I’m not going to be on these forums for some time, I may be able to post occasionally (Through my smartphone).
The general skill in this character forum seems pretty low atm and uninformed at that. These are problems you can only fix by playing often.
I urge you guys to stick with Fuerte, I intend to play Fuerte for years and I’ll be sure to treat you guys to little tricks I find along the way.
evo2k11 I want to see more Fuertes than Ryus.
I like the fact that we have little fuertes though
I agree. That would be annoying as heck to fight them everywhere. Fuerte is good because he surprises people and no one fights him.
