I need some advice. Which ultra should I use against Ibuki? Its the only match-up where I haven’t found a clear favorite.
I’d go with spark. She can alter airtime with superjump and air kunai.
pretty much, Ibuki HAS to jump…its apart of her style…she also has land right into the spark
Pilgrim if thats the only match-up where you are not sure then you have more match-ups to reconsider…

Ibuki is weak anyway. She’s one of the few you can Nickle and dime.
I love running away from ibukis. They get cocky and start command dashing. Then they want to throw a random air kunai that gets itself and herself quesadilla’d
speaking of quesadilla. I had a mirror match with someone at Chinatown fair. Qbomb owned him. He could do RSF. But I had shenanigans. I won 3-1
the shenanigans man. I took away his options. He was fishing for rsf. And doing the 3 forward dashes to run back tortilla. I got the spacing down so I’d just run back and quesadilla his backdash or guac on reaction or stop and taunt or what have you.
I know that you shouldn’t take fuerte mirrors seriously. As when Sacojericho trounced me he knew the shenanigans, and was run stop everything-ing my ass to kingdom come, but I still believe in having shenanigans as a part of the character to be ready to use against opponents who allow it, as it helps your organized randomness

i know it dosnt count as true merchendise but when capcom announced the avatar costumes for the 360, fuerte was one of the outfits you could buy. Hopefully they realese those things soon, i already have a bbq set waiting for my luchador

I got second place a tournament at UCI feels good placing that high. But aside that i’ve cleared my head of some rather nasty issues so i can focus on fuerte. Top 8 at evo here i come :X
What do you mean? Anyway, I wouldn’t say she’s weak. If you can get the vortex down, she’s scary since she can stun so quickly.
Im thinking about getting stick because I think I will improve with it, but my friend is telling me I should stay pad because I won’t get any better? He uses pad as well.

Each controller has its own vices My best advice for you would be to try it out and see if it works out for you
I can say from transitioning from pad to joystick was both a good and a bad thing for me. RSF became 10x easier to the point where I’m not worried about flubbing it on stick here as on pad just getting it was a pain for me. On the other hand since I’m still new to joystick I’m still working on some execution aspects that are shoddy when I’m stressed in the middle of combat like Ultra’ing for some reason doesn’t come out 90-100% when I want to unlike on the controller where I could do it any time I wanted to.
Its just those little things and quirks that you are goina find as you play around with it more and more that you will want to address.
I will say IMHO that the stick has more room for easier improvement if you can keep your execution on point.
It all depends on what you can do with your pad and how much your willing to learn on a new device
Get a stick. It takes a bit of getting used to but your execution will improve.
Went to Chinatown fair again this Sunday. Lost to the viper player I played before, should have stuck to the turtling game plan…
Beat by a friend who uses Rose. Not comfortable in that matchup. Lots of stuff at drastically different speeds. Rose is definetly better in this iteration.
Beat a weak Cody/Sagat user. It was obvious how much he was mashing, so I simply knocked him down, then waited for him to kill himself.
The last guy I played is the one that pissed me off. Ended me winning 2-1.
He waits for me to pick first. Then he quickly picks Akuma and then laughs fir 15 seconds before finally getting started. I lost the first set while goofing off and paying attention to his habits.
The second set is just execution and picking his habits apart, fireballs to demon flip baiting dragon punches, taunting to get him to do something, and completly stopping my rampant offense to turtle for a full 30 seconds before again attacking.
I landed ultra spark every round the same exact way. Knock him down run forawrd. Stop and watch his ex dp fly, spark for free.
He seems aware of far hk being good vs Fuerte. Too bad he uses it at a range where only the last kick hits, more then enough time to ultra spark him on reaction.
His complaining begins: ah c’mon this would be over if it wasn’t for you getting these free ultras.
The third set is just turtling, everytime he does something it gets countered, taunting everytime I get an opportunity. I get on the offense and he starts with jump back fireballs.
“I can be gay too” is his justification… Before getting killed.
The funniest thing the guy said though was his comment about me ultra sparking him after he whiffs a wakeup ex dp for the third time:
“this is bullshit. I baited you and my dragon punch missed”
I didn’t even respond. Someone tell me how me doing a run stop and him whiffing an ex dp is HIM baiting ME? looking at My Rose playing buddy that was right next to me for perhaps an explanation he just shook his head and rolled his eyes.
But at least his… Trash talking was just what I needed. I wasn’t doing very well that day and it got me upset enough to just sit down, shut up and start playing. I wonder what he would have said if I could rsf…
