i was playing guy for 2 weeks and i kinda forgot how to use el fuerte and my rsf timing is off D:
So like, next week, I’m going to a convention dressed as El Fuerte. Problem is finding a mexican mask. Man, I hope the costume shop has one. They’re going to have gaming tournaments there, too, especially SSF4. Wish me luck.
Good luck with that tourney, take pics haha
Can someone give me some Fuerte practice on XBL? I play Chun so send me a PM or message me on XBL or something and we can do an endless session. I would say I’m a pretty decent Chun, but this matchup is just tough for me. Also any advice you can give me would be great.
Thanks dudes.
Don’t get baited into doing ex sbk. You’ll get focused and RSF’d and then have Chun-Li bending over for some o dat Fuerte.
Check the “beating el fuerte” and matchup thread fo mo.
Somehow, Fuerte’s super seems to beat Guiles Ultra 2? I’m not sure if it was a fluke or a bug, but my super triggered before Guile’s ultra freeze was even finished. It looks really cool in the replay because he steals the spotlight during the ultra closeup.
Is it worth uploading a video, or is this common?
can someone explain the uses of fuerte’s jumping rh? (ass attack)
The only thing i know it’s good for is beating bison’s headstomp/u2.
thanks
I honestly don’t see it used much, but I do recall seeing TKD using it often against Rufus with good success, I think its good in stuffing his j.rh but I am not entirely sure. It can be used against large characters for crossups (I think I saw TKD use it a couple of times against Sagat), and it is ambigous enough to cause some confusion, but not sure about its reliability.
It’s actually pretty good, both for jump ins, priority, and cross ups. Especially cross ups. Use J. HK a lot, as much as you would use j. HP.
I can’t use El Fuerte’s burrito butt move very well. I can’t cross up with it but yeah. I’ve been wondering where to apply it.
it beats Blanka’s Ultra I
hahaa
it beats blanka’s u1 when he does the initial jumping up part? or just the entire thing at anytime?
just checked the initial jump part and was able to beat it with an early jumping HK
Everytime I tried it while he was sitting there rolling in a ball though I got shocked fully or traded in blankas favor
honestly though the jumping hk is so hard to aim appropriately that I’d rather just EX guac through the ball which has the chance of just beating it out right, going thru it, or getting shocked but ending on the other side of him depending on your angle.
jumping rh puts u in deeper for rsf where as the peoples elbow places u slightly farther. thats what ive noticed
I’m closer to RSF now. I can now do 2 hits into slide for a nice 260 (or 280?) damage and okizeme setup. I feel stupid for not really getting the whole canceling thing down until just recently with this move (Moves like Viper’s BnB are no problem). Definitely pays to just step back and look at the inputs.
Yeah, bitchin’!
i know people say not to take online seriously, but losing to people doing random shit pisses me off. i especially hate the stupid point system. sigh loses to scrubs is the bane of my frustration. i can’t get myself to stop if my points are lower then what i started off with for the session
my fuerte loses to more shoto scrubs with 1 round 30 second timers then anything else
I have this thing where I try to figure out what kind of opponent I’m fighting in the first round so I do riskier stuff to see what can work and what doesn’t work. Testing my opponent sorta say. Well suffice to say I usually loose my first round and win my next two but when I’m fighting a 30 second 1 round game that I don’t even notice till its to late I’m like >_<
From now on its arcade rank match request or custom ranked match only, I don’t want to hit any more of that annoyance
Once you know EVERY option your opponent has in every given situation then you can properly predict- with all information considered that the opposing player will do a DP on wakeup.
i guess i need to be able to download people’s playstyles quicker?
any tips on how to go about doing that quickly? within one round?
Play pure defense, then start to slowly throw in normals, basic throws, and focus attacks. It makes you focus on your opponents move much more.
I’ve actually been playing mostly endless without using any of fuerte’s special attacks. Not only is it pretty fun, it’s helping me improve my match ups a lot.
