the first time I tried to setup ultra spark took form in a counterhit. Stupid ryu cpu tatsu’s over it, next time I try to use it as an anti-air. I slide under because I was too close. Gawd!!!
Fuerte is probably going to be fairly low again methinks. more people need to rep him and do it successfully, because I think there aren’t going to be as many new people deciding to main him vs other characters.
He definitely feels far more rewarding in Super compared to vanilla though.
He still won’t have easy wins like other characters, but at the same time in this one we don’t have to work 2x or 3x as hard on the bad match-ups compared to vanilla.
Agreed on scrubs not touching Fuerte though - the execution and mind games required to main Fuerte (for simple basic stuffs and not just for RSF) will turn them off big time.
Other than that, who else are you guys maining in Super as your secondary or sub?
I’m really loving how fast and improved Claw feels in Super and Dudley is so much fun to use although he has a lot of trouble getting in on some match-ups.
I think Juri will be a secondary. If not her, then it’ll be Chun or Viper.
Oh, and my arcade stick is messed up again. Not even ten minutes into the game and the joystick goes null on me. I thought it was just the part the last time, but it’s apparently it’s the unit itself. Looks like I’ll have to get a new one. Until then, don’t expect me online.
If you unplug and re-plug the stick and this fixes the problem, then its probably a static issue. Assuming your stick has metal top and bottom plates, you should just be able to connect a wire from a screw on each of the plates to a common ground connection on the PCB. If youre sticks frame is made of wood, then ive got no idea.
On topic: Im seconding Dee Jay, and dabbling in Guy. Guy’s game is similar to fuerte’s, but safer, and he has better pokes. Not even half as cool though.
My stick is a modded SE stick. I also unplugged and replugged the stick like you would any wired controller. Come to think of it, weren’t the Madcatz SE sticks known for this?
Haha, you got that right. Back in my super-scrubby Alpha 2/3 days, Guy was my…guy of choice. Ever since the Hakan reveal, however, the red oily bastard has been in my sights. As you all know, maining Fuerte is very labor-intensive, and getting my Hakan to a level where he doesn’t get instantly mutilated will be no picnic either But even though these two wackos give me plenty to learn, I can’t help but also dabble in a little Guy with a splash of Makoto.
Tortilla has definitely been nerfed as far as I can tell (in terms of landing it). Whenever I play my brother now (he plays Fei Long), I would always land this particular tortilla after a mix-up. I told him that something was going on because it should have landed, but it didn’t (and in Vanilla–aka SF4), I would land it 100% of the time.
After I missed another one, he started laughing and said that he noticed that he was getting hit less often and that he “likes whatever Capcom did”. lol
I would say that it went from being ridiculously easy to…not as ridiculously easy Maybe I’m being picky because it’s not necessarily a nerf…just a noticeable different from Vanilla to Super.
I feel it’s harder to land tortilla now as well. I’ve been using it a lot less now because of that. Some say it has a bigger hitbox though? Maybe it’s just changed and I need to adjust…
Also, U2 beats guile’s U2 beautifully (as expected) – the big ass sonic frisbee is even seen as fuerte is twirling all over guile
Hope you guys don’t unmain fuerte, going to make me look weird haha.
I still am stuck with fuerte in Super, not interested in the 3S characters. Surprisingly I still have trouble executing Ultra in Super, U2 as well, but that’s just me I still input shit too fast and inaccurately.
I managed to do a Tortilla loop 6 times(?) on a friend last night, it looks so cheap, but hell after I missed the last one I lost just about the same amount of health afterwards… bs i say… he was using cody.
On a side note: Sonic Hurricane was a let down, I thought the giant disc would go full screen, apparently it doesn’t which is kinda dumb, considering every other new projectile ultra goes full screen and probably deals the same dmg.
I think the Juri Matchup is going to be terribly bad in our favour, her pinwheel kick can apply hella good pressure, because the recovery time is relatively low, and that airborne dive kick is going to stop my back dashs. Mind you I am like the Scrub form of Fuerte.
I am sticking with Fuerte as my main for sure. i will mess around with other characters and might pick up a secondery, but Fuerte remains for me the most fun character and he feels even better in Super due to some of the changes.
I won’t be playing too much of ranking battles this time around though, since my connection is not great and I have become a lot more intolerant to lag. So I will mostly focus on playing people who are close to me that I have a good online connection with, and of course offline.
Man, screw you PSN fuertes for making want to play ranked mode to move up the fuerte ranks! I’d rather play endless battle, but it’s cool that players are ranked by character now
So, I’m confused as to how this Replay Channel works. I was hoping I could search for Replays only when someone was playing Fuerte in order to see how the rest of y’all are doing … but no dice.
