do you have to input U2 as slowly as U1? I hated how they made the execution speed so bloody slow. I personally have to delay myself from hitting 3K when I decide to ultra otherwise, the over-excitement makes me ex guac and then I get my ass punished for it.
Probably not. The only reason you get ex guac with U1 is by pressing 3K before completing the second qcf. U2 uses qcb, and he doesn’t have a move with reverse dp motion, so there shoudn’t be a problem.
I don’t think you have to put it in slower it’s just that you have to be really deliberate with some of your motions because of input shortcuts and input priorities in this game. You just have to make sure that you go all the way to forward or you’ll end up with the EX legs like you do. I used to have that same problem, but after turning on the input display I realized I was pressing KKK before I got to forward. Now, I do my inputs at the same speed for the ultra, which is pretty much as fast as I possibly can (especially for reactions to whiffs), and I actually go all the way to up/forward on the last motion just to make sure legs doesn’t come out, works like a charm. I also used to miss a lot of runs on RSFs for the same reason, DAMN YOU SANWA AND DAMN YOU SQUARE GATES!!! shakes fist All that being said, I think if you ended up with EX legs a lot before, then you’re gonna end up with some slides or standing HKs where you want to be nailing U2s.
On another note, and this might be a totally horrible idea, but would anyone like to see Fuerte in MvC3?
Horrible idea or not, ME WANT! I hardly doubt we will see him, but if he makes it in, then that instantly makes the game 5 times better for me He might play very differently though since MvC has a very different system from SF4, I would be very curious to see how he would play in MvC.
Wow, having Fuerte in MvC3 would be beyond epic. They pulled off Alex in TvC, he’s practically top-tier. Just imagine him doing some wacky air combo finishing with an air grab super. He would probably end up like a cross between Yatterman-1 and Alex but, ya know…more like Fuerte.
Although I posted this in the new Ultra thread
The Guile note reminded me of something else. Guile’s U2 seemed to be unable to punish Tostada press. In fact, a lot of stuff couldn’t do it. The hitstun is a lot large or the recovery is better. The only time I did get punished, I believe I didn’t do the range correctly, or it was a forward tostada instead of off a backrun, OR it actually whiffed (The one time I did get punished was at 4:00 am, almost 36 hours ago so my memory is fuzzy). So, every other time I managed to block the U2. The Guile player in question is the best Guile in Australia, and could already reliably FADC to U2 by the time I arrived at unscrupulous location to play, so I doubt it’s a question of his execution on punishing a blocked tostada. SRK’s and all flash kicks didn’t seem to punish either.
What this essentially seems to suggest is that while the damage output and Fuerte style is still very risk/reward… that risk factor has been toned down significantly. When you account for the fact that the splash/command throw hitboxes have just gone crazy
Oh: T. Hawk is absolutely rooted by Fuerte. Cr. Fierce, both EX and regular guac (though I did get a SINGLE guac trade off that condor dive whatitsname?) will anti air every single thing he has. Also, as a result of his huge hitboxes you can pretty much tortilla AA from a considerable distance away simply because he is a freak of nature. Watch out for his jump arc and air time when you attempt to Cr. Fierce him, though. That got me a couple of times. Again, due to his size you can guac not only his jump but his backdash on wakeup, just like Sagat, Gief and a few others.
Good times.
Fuerte in mvc 3 I can see it now:
assist type: a : super dynamic cooking time! Spicy Mexican food for a power boost.
Assist b: guacamole
assit c: super quick q-bomb.
Elfuerte does the Adios! When he leaves.
Combos into airthrow.runs have armor like juggernaught.
Guacs are ex guac like since everyone is so jumpy.
Random combos into rsf. Qbomb is stupid fast. And a new super where he owns you with a frying pan.
Special double team with gief: ultra atomic sparkbuster fuerte ultra sparks the victim then while still in the air gief does the last part of Siberian bliZard
flying gigabuster can catch your ass if you’re in midair, auto comboes with hk launcher or team mate super that launches.
Fuerte has a double jump and an airdash, and can super jump off the wall.
Fuerte is god-like in mvc3.
He’ll be a real glass cannon in this one.
Man, even better news - looks like Hawk v Fuerte will be even match (or perhaps even slight advantage to Fuerte) looking at it. YESSS!!!
Thx, Lost_George!!!
How’s your experience against pitting Fuerte with the new cast or his vanilla bad match-ups? (too many to count )
And since you obviously tried some of the new cast, is Guy looking like a good alternate to those who main Fuerte? Like, you can kinda put some of Fuerte’s shenanigans with him?
I can’t comment on Guy, unfortunately. However, we have more people tonight and I’ll probably play against EVERYONE now. For the sake of our scene we are assigning one new character to all of our players so that we can consistently get stronger for the Australian OzHadou Nationals. Brisbane (where I am from) usually fairs very well at these because although we are stuck playing in arcade we have good character coverage at a high level. We will have more than 4 players this time. Last night was a lot of Adon, Makoto, Cody, T. Hawk, Sagat, Guile and Hakan. Ryu is a lot worse off now due to failed DP trades, and the fact that your Tortilla has an epic hitbox now you basically can’t stuff up your Safe Tortilla. Will try a bit of RSF because apparently it is harder but you really don’t need it to win anymore (I hardly ever used it anyway… only 2 hits to slide). Will also comment on normal links and see if I find any new combos. I am going to play more tonight and we’ll have more people so expect some Blanka, Dudley, Guy and hopefully Juri matchups to be covered.
I am our Dee Jay player so I can’t exactly play with myself (EPIC WTFBBQ PUN) and comment on the matchup. I will fill out EVERYTHING in the matchup forum tonight within 24 hours, guys.
Thanks for the updates Lost_George, man I’m itchin’ for this game…
I can say with 100% certainty that RSF is easier. I was getting 9 reps last night , while drunk, tired, lazy with inputs, on a 14 win streak and wanting someone to beat me so I could get off and have pizza. lol
RSF+Spark=Fuerte up in the tiers.
I’ve been playing super everyday this week and let me tell u his U2 is amazing. The sickest thing I’ve done with it so far is armor cancel ultra ryu out of ex srk. Other than than his new ultra fuerte is still same, although I’ve noticed that his pokes don’t get stuffed hardly n e more so maybe capcom did change the priority on them. Oh sorry and also cr fierce has a bigger hitbox so no more whiffing on a jump in and getting destroyed.
So crossup fierce is easier to do? Finally!!! It’s enough of a pain to do now. This made my day
I think he’s talking about cr.FP as the anti air for jump-ins.
What was the scenario for that, was it from an EX back run?
Yeah I read that wrong. Failed it!
Also I dunno if anyone has said this but corner glitch is still there.
Which one’s that again?
El Fuerte Opening:

El Fuerte Ending:

Poor guy doesn’t seem to realize it. Anyway, it’s great that J.B. Blanc decided to not sound as high and scratchy this time around. Now he’s easy to take seriously in both languages.
Hi,
What is exactly corner glitch? “It is s.lk after tortilla?” thx
Another glitch is against Sagat, Honda and some others using slide on wakeup, but on SSFIV does not work anymore
See you!
The corner glitch is where when you run back into the corner, inputs are ignored for some reason.
