u look awesome, but lacking a sombrero lol
glad to know ur an earthbound fan too
really looking forward to super fuerte!
Haha its funny because i logged on to ask something similar. Personally i dont think its bad, Fuerte just tends to get the crowd excited with all his wacky antics.
Thanks, it’s better than being told I look like Taylor Lautner.
You cannot comprehend the true form of Giygas’ attack!
Dude, those exact reasons are practically why I even play SF4 in the first place. I wouldn’t have stuck with the game for so long, but he was just such a blast to use, while looking totally awesome when you mind-rape some unsuspecting fool.
Fuerte was the reason I suffered through switching from dpad to stick, which only recently has it been paying off. I’m sure some of the new characters will be cool in Super (I’m looking at you, Hakan), but Fuerte is just too awesome to not give my undivided attention.
Heh, the only reason I got into SF4 is simply because of Fuerte - if Fuerte wasn’t in SF4, I wouldn’t have even played SF4 at all.
After watching a video of Tetsu playing Fuerte back in the early days of SF4, I was hooked to Fuerte’s gameplay style.
He used to be more entertaining to watch, but I think he’s fallen off TKD is on a another level now.
SAME, plus Dragon Boy & Dr. Chaos. Was Tetsu in that that famous Red Viper vs Black Fuerte video, “brought to you by gamechariot”? Cuz I fucking love thatt video, both were nuts
i dont think I ever seen you play before, got any videos?
Gief2000, I’m really happy you had a positive first tournament experience with your Fuerte. Rufus and Blanka for your very first time in a tournament, it must’ve been scary to see Blanka, I know I would’ve been crapping my pants, I do hate playing against Blanka and Honda with Fuerte, especially when I wasn’t comfortable with the matchup. As long as you had a good time and learned from the experience then you’ve really gained something from the experience. Were you able to control you nerves well? That’s one thing we’ve all got to master through the power of mind over matter and experience for sure.
The first time I ever did anything notable with Fuerte was when I beat Sanford and LI Joe back to back at NYC Fightclub… That was probably one of the best moments of my gaming “career”. That, and then at NECX I beat Skisonic in Fuerte mirror match for the main SF4 tournament, that was a really hot fight, I never played so defensively before.
Just wait until you start going to more and more events, once you start gaining that confidence and fighting spirit you’ll gain the momentum and crush your opponents. Just don’t forget to keep telling yourself “I am the best. I am going to win.” Even when you’re knocked down!
Looking forward to SSF4, looping forward to using that ultra 2! Hopefully I can help KDZ get 8otb weekly tournaments streaming so everyone can see me go out 0-2 with my Fuerte on live stream soon, haha
Keep it together, and keep repping that Fuerte man. And again, glad you had fun.
Sanford was so pissed he had to come back later and CRUSH me with Akuma. That was a while ago though, gotta get my game back, super will be the motivation I need.
But even the pros can get scared of Fuerte mixups sometimes, that night the momentum was definitely in my favor… People were even cheering for me because they weren’t the only two I had beaten, I was on a winning streak with the mexican running man. :wgrin:
One time I did place OK at 8otb weekly, like 4th or 5th or something, better than near last like I usually do, haha NYC/NJ competition is rough for my scrub Fuerte.
Feeling that energy, that “momentum” of the match, I really think that can fuel anyone, but for a fast paced character like Fuerte I really think it can make the different between a loss and a win for him. Once you gain a knock down, once you read a few moves ahead of your opponent and start getting into his head and gain that momentum you’ve already won the match. I think that’s really important for Fuerte more than any other character in SF4.
I hear you on responsibilities, it’s why I haven’t been able to play SF4 nearly at all lately between work and school, though I’m not a father (thankfully, that can wait a while).
Really hoping with Super we’re getting more options with Fuerte, that ultra spark really is looking like my savior haha.

things that still work:
4x cmk loop
tkd loop clk cmk xx rs, clk cmk
played against rufus 5 matches, that matchup looked more balanced to me lol
The most famous Tetsu video is the one where it was the first time Fuerte winning a JP arcade tourney was recorded - the match was so hype since it went down to the last health for both Tetsu’s Fuerte and his opponent’s Boxer.
And of course, it was finished with the Giga Buster.
link me,
Yeah - I played a Rufus as well and it’s much nicer, also EX Snake Strike isn’t disgusting anymore.
It’s also in the Fuerte vid thread - here you go though: http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm5184743
Shoto scrubs srk without thinking. totally uncreative, but also not a good thing, therefore you should think.
Or just know that you can’t make a brick think. So just play basics. scrub fighting 101
Going to play Super with a friend who has questionable morals I’ll give whatever impressions I have when I get back.
It’s all about those Ultra 2 setups. Other than that Fuerte hasn’t changed much. Though lesser Ultra damage for everyone pretty much is a really nice thing - means we can actually make a mistake or two and not lose the entire round.
I’ve only played it for a few hours, but Fuerte really feels kind of the same but that’s not really a bad thing. I think his match-ups with a lot of the new characters will be fairly even as well. None of the new characters (at least so far) seemed to shut down Fuerte particularly hardcore or anything.
