I have a friend who beats my ass all the time with Akuma but he tells me the only reason why is because he knows my play style. Your friends don’t count when you play them, they just know. Tonight was different but still, I do main fuerte and eventually you learn how to get out of mix-ups. Especially the way other people get out of my shenanigans.
Speaking of which… Zangief’s headbutt seems to have retarded priority. He donked me out of airthrows with it repeatedly with me seeing stars on several occasions.
I think the only smart thing I pulled off today was knockdown. Marisielles roll -> Falling SKy with abel, and the Q-bomb stuff vs your Balrog.
you have a better balrog game than me lol
I think I play with him the same… lol spam jab, RANNNNNNNNNDOM HEABUTT, taunt… LOTS.
I’ve found some success in Focusing his rush punches, even though two of them armor break… it makes people do the breaker ones, giving more time for counters…which allows Q-bomb to actually get going to hit
I don’t Q-bomb enough, but thats just because I can do somuch more without the button held down. I need to remember that for rog
Negative edge. I think which button should be held depends on the char / matchup. I think for Rog its best to hold HK
Yea don’t worry Densou, it happens once in a while but don’t let it get to you. There was this nasty Abel player that I met the other day, he kept owning me several times in multiple sessions, I got 0-11 against him the other day and felt very depressed, he clearly outmatched me and I started getting desperate in my playstyle, doing random ultras and all.
After a few days, I went back to him and put in 100% of my concentration, making minimum mistakes and being very careful, and managed to end the night 4-4 ! I didn’t really improve, I just put in a lot of what I learned in the matchup thread to practice.
At that point I realized something, as a Fuerte player, it is not a good idea to play with very good players when you are lacking in concentration, it will only cause you to be depressed and you will not learn much. If I feel I am tired but still want to play, I either go to training mode or play with players on my level or a bit lower. When I feel like I am in top form, then I hunt down those players that I think are clearly above me.
Also, sometimes even when I lose a lot, I feel satisfied when I put up a good fight. I still lose to that Abel player a lot more than win, he knows my playstyle very well, but our matches are a lot closer now, because I try to make sure to not play him when feeling tired. Its still a bit depressing to lose sometimes, no one likes losing, but the rewarding satisfaction you get from winning, (especially after a bad streak) far exceeds anything else.
Keep it up man, your matchup thread is what kept me going so don’t lose hope
That would make alot of sense, never thought of it that way
I rarely try to airthrow gief, his headbutt is SCARY T_T guac on reaction is the best way to go imo!!
yeah my friend goes for that headbutt with reckless abandon…
I’ll keep at it I suppose.
Edit:
Mercy rounds? Oh hell no! Back when I was in Japan while I served in the Navy, The Japanese made it a point to try to smash me. The only time I remember a Mercy round feeling was when I played Virtual On FORCE, me and a friend were playing it for the first time, but we had played the Original, as well as the sequel, Oratorio Tangram… I could feel it that they were thinking 'Easy Win" and just fired a normal shot right when the match started, too bad the guy in front of me ate a powered shot from me to start it off.
Anyway. I could understand a Mercy Round to a little kid, or even throwing it. But I feel you are giving an opponent a disservice with a mercy round, go easy on them if they are weaker then you? Yes. But if you are repeatedly making dumb mistakes, I’m gonna punish the shit out of you to prove a point.
Then again… Mercy Rule was one of them rules maybe Online, or at a party or something. I’m not going to an arcade to spend my money to LET someone win. F that.
Ive had far too many one sided matches go pear shaped because i gave a mercy round, and then played like ass for the remaining rounds. Its cool to do against your friends, but against randoms, they can go home and cry to their mothers about it for all i care.
SO…decided to get back into this game and pick up Fuerte again. RSF is still a problem(not buffering qcf) but I think I’m getting closer. Getting the throw instead of a fp makes me want to punch a baby in the face.
I’ve thought about waiting for different reasons. I think I’ll be having a busy college schedule (or not) this semester so playing SFIV might not be all that often and the pace of the game looks vastly different so getting to comfortable with SFIV’s pace might be counterproductive… But just wait for El Azteca Fuerte come this spring.
Ive always preffered going to a Mexican restaurant for tacos and stuff. But thems Chalupas was good stuff.
To honor his death I will be playing online today using taunt 03 everytime I land a successful splash/tortillia
VIVA MEXICO!
genius!
Sounds like a plan, count me in!!!
Long live mexican food, I never knew much about it before playing Fuerte. In my country (UAE) most people still don’t know much about mexican food, but I have managed to convince a few to try it and they all love it!!! I have gained a lot of knowledge about mexican culture as well, and plan to visit Mexico some time in the near future. If I was mexican I will be very proud of El Fuerte to be in the game.
Gief…have a Cemita…of chicken
I was thinking this awhile ago if I ever entered tourney’s. It’s fun to me. Got the RSF down, just need to apply to matches/1 1/2years late.
