Got on a fairly good streak on the setup with some HRAP sticks at PAX in the console freeplay room. Got a pretty big crowd going, was a lot of fun. I think people really like to watch Fuerte heh.
if there is one thing to say about Fuerte, that is nobody really can root against him. nobody likes being on the receiving end of a trip to splash mountain, but always a crowd pleaser.
Absolutely, Fuerte always has to work hard for victory, he is just too cool to watch, and his character is so lovable. Playing as Fuerte can be extremely fun too, but if someone plans to main him, they better be prepared for a LOT of practice and some frustration. Eventually though, all of that practice will pay off with a lot of satisfaction from hard earned wins and cheering crowds
Loops are so fun with a crowd, “EY! EY! EY! EY! EY!”. You can hear the crowd in most of the God’s Garden youtube videos whenever Fuerte is up.
just made it to G-1 tonight. feeling a bit accomplished. was a hell of a grind.
nice, better competition = better training
im like 3.5k away from G1, but only starting using fuerte a week ago so I still need alot of matchup experience.
G1 is better competition in general, but its hard to find a lot of people like G2, wish there was more. In G2 I used to love it when my opponent pickes Ryu, because most likely they are scrubs. Now I actually hate it when I see a Ryu, because a good Ryu is one of Fuerte’s harder matchups, his combos can turn the tables on you very quickly. I think in G1 it becomes a must to be able to bait a lot, and be able to use every opening for a well timed ultra.
yeah. looking forward to the better competition. thing is, if Ryu has meter, you wont land the ultra. probably one of the hardest members to land it on if they’re good.
Yea, just the other day I timed my ultra on a G1 Ryu, and he easily escaped with the air tatsukami, made me look like a fool lol I always knew that Ryu can escape it, but that was actually the first time I had seen one do it. Because of that, I revise my 5-5 matchup with Ryu to 6-4 now. I think the only way to land an ultra on Ryu is to make him whiff a shoryuken, or run and stop, wait for a whiffed hadouken and catch him with the ultra. Sagat is way easier imo.
Is it true that Fuerte can have TWO?!?! FA shields? I can’t explain it but I seen it.
Wat?
his FA is like any other.
If you are implying FA for absorbing hits, it is as follows; EX Habanero Dash both Forward and Backwards can absorb TWO hits.
If you Run backwards be it normal or EX and you hit a wall, he will automatically cancel to forward run, if it is EX, it will RESET the super armor allowing you to absorb two more. THIS DOES NOT STACK
Yeah you can’t ultra ryu’s jump if he has meter but that still doesn’t make it 6-4 imo. It’s even harder to land it on a jumping rufus, or akuma, cause they don’t even need meter to dodge it.
Whoever gets knocked down first in ryu v fuerte is about to be in big trouble.
Uhh iono but it looks like he focused attack, took a hit, dash canceled, and did a repeat suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper fast.
yeah, Fuerte has Safe Tortilla and fients, Ryu… well, he hurts you
Whoever did it was real fast then. Its not some sort of special move.
could some el fuerte pros weigh in? what is fuerte’s learning curve and pay off?
I’m looking for a secondary character to Chun Li, and I’m interested in El Fuerte along with Dhalsim and Guile.
Thanks.
Pretty high learning curve, but he’s a lot of fun and you get to be kind of crazy if you want to.
is he as hard to learn as say… crimson viper or gen?
Rufus and Akuma are harder than Ryu, especially Akuma (imo hardest matchup for fuerte), but Ryu is still up there with the harder ones, maybe 5.5-4.5 is more accurate than 6-4, but still Ryu has an advantage with his damaging combos and extremely easy to set ultra.
@thethrillisgone: regarding the learning curve and payoff for fuerte, here is what I think:
learning curve is among the highest, you will need to put in a lot of mental effort because Fuerte is all about mindgames and baiting. However, by using the info provided in this forum by our good fellas in here, you will quickly start learning the common tricks that will take care of most players. Note that he is not extremely hard as a technical character (unlike Viper for instance), because without the infinite, his combos are minimal and very simple. Its mostly based on dexterity and mental concentration. The infinite is hard, but well worth learning.
Payoff is, in my humble opinion, very high. Once you see the fruits of your effort, and start winning against top tier characters like Sagat and make them look like fools in the process, you WILL feel immensely satisfied. There is always more to learn with fuerte, and so many nice tricks (especially with the ultra) that will make you feel in control. Also, when you win with fuerte, you KNOW that you are the better and more skilled player, because you will work hard for it. One final thought, is that if you use Fuerte in front of a crowd, you will recieve a lot of support and enjoy the loud voices of cheering, he is a crowd pleaser. Hope you decide to join in with us, you will have fun
I think Viper is by far the hardest character in the game. Then, I would put Gen as 2nd, followed closely by Fuerte.
thanks for your opinion
I’m gonna to head to training mode with him in a few minutes. ^^
