El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

Heh, i have faced a similar ken/ryu as well, spamming lp srks, hell annoying and a bitch when you get caught but beatable and satisfying to destroy…

Thank you both. I beat a crap ton of players without the loop, but I decided that it was time to really incorporate it into my game, but it can be difficult doing it online because even the slightest of lag will make you whiff. I can do 3 hits, but the third is always blocked. But for some reason I can do 2 hits into a slide, i’m guessing because the sliding extends forward, therefore making it possible. I will practice a few more times, but if it doesn’t work I’ll just settle for 2 fps into a slide.

Yeah the first 2 hits are the easiest, but the third is a bit tricky. I’ve pulled off 3 hits a couple times, but I still can’t get the timing.

I pulled off the rsf loop, 2 fp into slide, online for the first time on a sagat a couple days ago. It felt very rewarding. I won’t be surprised if I was the first elf to take his “RSF loop virginity”, lol.

It’s also a lot harder to do in a match. I tried it so many times that day but failed. Like I would bait them into doing a move and then have the chance to punish with the loop, but I would be so tense because I’m about to do the loop that I would miss my timing. I completely forgot all the timing things I did in training “1…2…3” or “TantataTanta”, etc and just tried it without counting. I didn’t realize it was this tense trying to do it online for the first time. Right before I faced the sagat guy I was like calm down and count. I baited the sagat into a tiger uppercut, and then he “lost his virginity”, lol

Just wondering, when you guys do it online/offline do you still count? or can you do it without counting or something like that?

also halcyonryu you and rattlejaw shouldn’t have done so much. I’ve seen so many other threads in the character forums about how elf is so easy to beat. All you have to do is FA, back dash, etc. I couldn’t help but laugh.

The other day I faced a “back dashing/focus attack on wake up” happy abel. I had ultra, knocked him down, ran and stopped expecting a back dash/FA, and did my ultra immediated when I stopped. To my surprise he back dashed and ate an ultra to lose the game.

The problem with many of them is that they face elfs who splash all day. Any half decent elf knows splashing is the fastest way to get you killed.

Both of you should have let them believe that elf was that easy, so that when I face them online I’ll show them just how much using FA/backdash only works.

You can rsf people who backdash on wakeup too. That’s actually a bit safer. Just run up and focus attack, let it go and hit them out of the recovery of the backdash. Guessing and ultraing is sometimes worth it but I’ve lost alot of matches that way ><.

I’ve found success for baiting by putting myself into the corner after a knockdown and subsequent corpsehop to go into the wall.

dpers just cant seem to see the obvious and dp.

Its not the smartest thing in the book, but seriously Fuerte seems to be able to get away with a lot of stuff

I just got a stick. I’m definitely going to have to get used to it and learn RSF ASAP. =D
At least it’ll make focus canceling a whole lot easier.

Got my first Hate “mail” yesterday on psn:

“Fucking Bullshit Un-blockable Ultra”

Good times, he was like 3kgp i think too.

LOL it’s unblockable but you can just jump/dash away. That is, unless you caught this guy on a jump in or something. Was playing a bad Sagat last night and he was using Tiger Knee to close distance while I was jumping away. Bam, ultra’d and landed right as the Tiger Knee stopped. Did the same to a random Raging Demon Akuma, it’s like he wanted to get closer to my ultra!! haha

Yeah technically i guess it was unblockable since i got him during specials/normals and i think a jumpin…I was nice though, i told him he can jump them etc…no reply.

I dont feel this goes in matchups. but perhaps it might.

I’m not making excuses as I know I can do better. But there are times when this happens to some people, I’m sure some of you have experienced this; What do you guys resort to doing when you play a guy with a good connection, but after you whup that ass real good the first round, the next the game just starts lagging to the point that timing and execution are thrown off. Its kinda troubling as then I start eating random uppercuts when I know damn well I shouldnt

I wouldn’t have thought it was intentional if right after I ended up losing the guy immediately punted me from his room.

Anyone else notice that when you do an air-throw right before you land, you seem to pause in the air for a split second delaying your landing? I’ve caught a few people that attempt to throw you when you land right beside them because since you’re not on ground, their throw whiffs and when you land, you can throw right away. so it’s like… 2 throws within a second.

Also, as a side note, it’s pretty funny catching people with an air throw just barely above the ground.

interesting. but that sounds like Fuerte eating a dp.

If the connection is really really bad then run away and do a lot of quesadilla bombs. They won’t be able to react to them or punish well in those conditions.

Damn you for beating me to the punch. I had the answer to my own question but I didn’t execute.

I suppose this finally gives the stupid move in his arsenal a purpose… but still nothing to celebrate about.

its not a stupid move its actually really useful just got to know how to use it

not sure if this is the right thread id like to fight some fuerte’s on here…

add me please…

Yeah there’s a thread for the Q-Bomb. Check it out if you haven’t.

The BEST thing about Q-bomb IMO is that you can Negative Edge it to Guacamole.

To tell the truth, besides Propeller Tortilla, Quesadilla Bomb is my favorite move ( I love Quesadillas…)

Can you explain how that to me? I just looked up Negative Edge, but I can’t see how you can combo into a Guacamole Slew

He just means that if you want to let go of your charge without a quesadilla bomb coming out, you can do a dp motion and let go of kick to do a guacamole air throw. I would rather just jump up or back and let it go though.

You can’t combo Q-Bomb into Guac (though that would be funny) you can just go “nevermind” and just input :dp: release :k: to Guac.

Sometimes I make it obvious that I’m holding a charge (throw a useless kick out) and bait a jump-in and Negative Edge a Guac

One thing I like doing here too is just run release whatever.
