yeah i mean I understand the tortilla nerf now. you cant like ex run then try to tortilla , you’ll get beat out. but at least the splash is still there. u2 startup nerf is fucking stupid. umm jab pressure will let him be more of a solid character. it can let us play more of a counter hit setup game with cr.mk and stuff. I just wanna know what the advantage is on block. that would be helpful

i got a tourney today guys, guard crush is on. so hopefully you catch me on stream. ive been training pretty hard lately. went to the ARC last friday for a little, trying to level up. lets see what happens
no it wont there is already a long list of things you cant punish with armor cancel ultra with u2. a bunch of characters in the game can meaty jab or short then wait for the ultra flash and cancel into something else and avoid ultra, if they increase the start up time its gonna make u2 useless at least with u1 you have range and can punish jumpbacks and fireballs.
Not sure if you’re getting what I’m saying there. I understand what you’re saying and I agree that there are a lot of things that can beat out/avoid armor cancel u2, but I’m saying it won’t change the safeness or effectiveness it already has if it’s only changed by like 1 frame as long as they don’t fuck with the inputs to make it 2x qcf. If they do that then the OS for the armor turns from jump away/u2 into slide/u2 which will make it unsafe to go for on wake-up, reset and jump-in situations because of the added risk of not getting hit (which is the reason the U1 armor OS is so unsafe in those situations). Ya digg? I don’t think anything will change for the OS on the ground since even low jabs have something like 5 frames of recovery at the quickest, but armor cancels on jump-in attacks low to the ground may be affected if the increase is 2 frames or more.
But I’m less worried about the effect on the OS armor cancel u2 than I am about being able to punish moves on block with U2, which will definitely be affected by the increase even if it’s only 1 frame.
I think the solution is there. Poke out with jab. Use jabs feints etc to bait. Kill the clock. Punish big time screw ups with Rsf or ultra.
It would be cool if Tortilla had wall bounce properties in the corner. After that El Fuerte does Standing Close HK into guacamole.

armor cancel ultra is less effective after awhile. since they cancel into a special like people do to breathless. its good against certain characters who can jump in on you but you cant anti air u2. but u can anti air armor cancel. its better on charge characters but still effective regardless. its just escapable with characters who have invincibility on the first 2 frames or so of there specials. something like that.

It doesnt matter how much they change it, it still becomes a dead ultra. unless they make the range on it better and give it more invincibility then this ultra is ass.
I disagree. I think as long as it maintains a lot of active frames it will still be easier to catch jumping opponents with it than with U1. I just hope that either the translation is wrong or that it’s not more than 1 frame added to the startup. We’ll just have to wait and see but in my opinion U2 will still be a lot easier to land than U1.

Last night there was a ranbat at Boston Pizza’s (like most Wednesday’s, it’s our arcade I guess lol) and it was a random team 2v2. Me and Stevercakes (another Fuerte) were partners and we won! It was so awesome! I’ve never had the jitters like I did there haha, I’ve improved A LOT over the past 2 ranbats and it’s really incredible. I can’t wait for Canada Cup and I’m posting videos right now, they’ll be in the video thread.

I’ve been playing Fuerte again lately. I’ll probably keep him as one of my secondaries in AE (along with Honda) just for the Sim and Guile matches. But for realz, he’s still a lot of fun.

but that blanka matchup, i was testing new things against him and it was working for the most part.

IMO you should use U1 for Blanka since it punishes Blanka balls. Just my two cents.
hello fellow luchadores…just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I am having…when ssf4 first came out i was able to land at least 5 rsf loops in a row with ease, consistently…unfortunately i had to take a break in playing because of work, school etc…now ive have been trying for a month already and i am only able to do rsf during training mode…but during any match or casuals i cant even do two! i always get fajita buster and it just seems like i cant do it during matches for some reason. anyways just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before and what they did to overcome it…i’ve changed my style of play to a more conservative play style…(it works for me and im starting to place higher at my ranbats) i just feel that im missing out on major punishment opportunities outside of ultra…anyways if anyone has any suggestions, please help me out. spab rog has excellent execution and thats good that he doesnt go rsf crazy because of the fact that of a slight mistiming will cause fuerte to take big damage from mashers.
