It looks like it’s you and me at least. Still, I’m curious about these “nonparticular changes” he got. Maybe we’ll end up finding some neat stuff. I still find it funny how useful Taco Knee can be and I’ve only used it extensively since last month.
More stun on fierce and hitbox changes all around, please.
I have mixed feelings right now. For now, the changes aren’t in effect, so keep playing Fuerte. Unless AE becomes a new expansion or something, there’s not much to hate on it right now. Who even knows if it’ll be a console version, so hold your horses, people. Still, such changes does bring about what they want Fuerte to be. And it’s funny how the community views him: a lot of people say they hate fighting him, but there are those who enjoy watching him perform in fights, too. It’s a love/ hate relationship with no one knowing what to say or do.
In the end, competitive wise, he could be a bit better. For now, I still use him, but I’ve been practicing with other characters, such as Hakan and Juri. I’m a Rose and Sakura player, also, which was mainly picked up from my alpha days. And Dudley was my use in SF3, so he’s natural to me, as well.
Basically, as long as you know the fundamentals, you should be okay.
We can chain cr.jabs now? Holy shit, Capcom! Thanks! All this time without being able to chain an attack whilst crouching… Oh wait…
Seriously, what the hell are they doing? The only nerf Fuerts should have received was to the spark. That’s it.
It’s undeniable how chars like Elf (unsafe on every special except ex-guac) get bludgeoned with the nerf bat, but ultra-safe, poke-happy characters like chun-li are barely touched.
I know, it’s total bullshit. As I said before, you can only get so much done with guessing alone.
You know, I think may pick up Sakura as a secondary assuming Elena or R.Mika don’t make it. I was looking at the roster and the only other characters I’d be willing to play more of are Ibuki again, Dudley, and maybe Rose.
When Capcom released El Fuerte changes for SSF4. They never metioned changes to Tostada Press hitbox because that misses way to often now and Standing Roundhouse. So hopefully El Fuerte gets something good out of this besides anything that was listed earlier.
I have Sakura and Cody as secondaries, but I’m not dropping Elf. Even if he’s worse than Dan, we’ll find a way.
I’ll just have to sit in training mode until I can get a consistent 15 hits into slide on RSF.
Sakura. nothing but buffs. Sagat gets his TU powered up in Loketest.
Whatever. I think from now on, I’m gonna use El Fuerte’s Alterante Heel Outfit. If the player expresses any bit of frustration or calls Fuerte cheap I will respond with “Fuck You.”
I said I wasn’t going to abandon him. and I wont.
The Few. The Proud. Los Fuertes. Might now have more meaning lol.
Anyway, I’m messing with Sakura a bit and I like her. I’m going to try her semi-seriously once I get my monitor though since she’s link heavy.
Fuerte 'til death.
wow y did they nerf him? Maybe the dude who got ambushed in this vid works for capcom:

ok, i’m walkng away from you, you cant catch me scu xx Shower kick -> jab jab jab xx back run xx picadillo taunt if it baited DP.
I’m going to beat everyone with this and this alone. Fuck You capcom. I will bore everyone to death with timeout wins. Bitter Victor indeed.
Slightly off topic, but I’m thinking this should be El Rudo Fuerte’s theme:

Though this might be more suiting for Fuerte Azteca.
So many nerfs… I think its clear to me now that Capcom really intends for Fuerte to remain as a bottom tier character, and the fact that he is considered a mid tier (even barely) in Super didn’t sit well with them.
The change that really baffles me the most is the guac one. It was already not a great escape tool but had some chance of working if it was unexpected and the opponent didnt react fast enough. For a character that is known to have some of the worst wakeup options in the game, a nerf in that area is really just beyond me.
U2 changes were expected, but I hope they don’t go overboard and make it useless. U1 & U2 should both be viable enough to warrant choosing either one over the other, depending on the matchup and the player’s style.
As good as the jab improvement is, it kind of pales in comparison to the collective amount of nerfs Fuerte got in both Super and now AE. Normally I would have felt very bad about those nerfs, but I don’t anymore because I kind of got used to it lol And its obvious now that Capcom really intends for him to be a low tier, and I don’t care much about tiers to feel bad about that either.
Just play turtle Fuerte. Never get caught. ??? Profit!
Fuerte time outs really easy. He gets life lead and it’s now chase the Fuerte. It works and it makes people frustrated just like against Dhalsim.
I look forward to everyone reporting successful timeout wins. Let’s give the scrubs something to cry about.
I can see it now.
Hyper Avenue Brawler 4 changes:
Run startup time increased.
Ex run uses 2 meter.
Guac trade frequency increased.
Run transition deadzone frequency increased. Damage taken from combos while in deadzone glitch tripled.
Q-Bomb hurts fuerte also on successful hit.
When fighting top tier characters fuerte health starts at 500. Stun at 950.
Scrubs will still complain.
What can U2 be used to punish now with the changes? Seemed kind of vague in the translation.
OK so basically I got this, lack of Tortilla invincibility is going to make it easier for characters to avoid/mash out of (as if it didn’t get nerfed enough in the transition to Super), change of U2’s hitbox and nerfed damage is going to make it more useless than U1 (and U1 didn’t even get improved in the slightest), escaping safe jump setups with EX Guac is now out of the question because they decided it was too safe for Fuerte. All this in exchange for being able to chain some jabs. I hope all hasn’t been said, but this is a true test of my patience
Not headbutt or hands.
Have you guys actually read all the changes? Yeah, nerfs are lame, but they aren’t that bad, other than the U2 nerf, and who didn’t expect ultra spark to get nerfed? The normal buffs look nice.
