U1 beats crossups while U2 doesn’t. Other than that, U1 is better for fireballs (or random normals) thrown out of U2 range. Otherwise, U2 is better because of speed and damage (although I find U1 easier to time).
U1 would beat crossups as much as U2 would, thanks to auto correct.
U1 is good in blanka matchup espescially if they do like to wake up ex ball… you can ultra on hit if your on the ground =) so its good for when your done run stop pressure, blanka cant do anything to your virtually.

Auto-correct timing is one of the harder things to do in this game. Well, for Elf’s ultras anyway, I find.
Auto-correct is easy on wake-up (most people just mash it out), but quite hard at any other time.

You can punish all three (vertical, horizontal, rainbow) blocked Blanka balls with U1. You just have to walk forward a little before activating Ultra on a blocked horizontal ball because he bounces back a little too far (unless he’s in the corner).

I am so glad I asked about U1, now I will use it for sure against Blanka. Was it even possible to punish blocked Blanka regular ball with U1 in vanilla SF4? I never knew this.

Nothing crazy about what I said. You have to leave block stun and walk a touch forward (so it’s not a reversal) in order to punish a blocked horizontal ball with U1. If you just time it as a reversal, it’ll whiff 95% of the time because Blanka is too far away when he bounces off you, unless he’s in the corner.
His recovery on horizontal ball is more deceivingly long, it’s easily punishable, even after walking forward slightly. The way I do it is to just input the ultra command, but keep holding forward for a short time after the second QCF input to ensure you take a step forward. Then, press KKK and you’re away. test it on the training bot if you don’t want to take my word for it. Just make sure you have the bot jump after the horizontal ball, so he’ll jump out of your U1 if it’s not punishable…
It’s 5am, I’ve been drinking. I’ll training mode this up in the morning. My two best friends main Blanka and in the past 1 1/2 years I’ve never been able to punish mid-screen BBs with anything besides run slide.

Hey guys I’m about to enter my first online tournament with 64 people total including me. My first match is against Lamerboi. Now I fought him only 3 times. He choose Balrog, Dudley, and Guile. The Balrog and Dudley matches weren’t that close and I won. The Guile match came down to the wire and I won. Can anyone please give some good tips against Guile?
