Get the mixups down first, learn as much as you can about matchups and what is a good mixup strategy in each, and once you’re comfortable with that then immediately start on RSF (its very very important, a lot of Fuerte’s mixup game relies on baiting, and baiting becomes much more relevant if you can punish well after it, and RSF is the best punish for sure). After that you will find some advanced combos/shenanegins videos in the video thread, learning cr.mk loop is also very handy (though I still can’t do it at all). There are lots of combos that rely on the super, but I don’t see them to be practical at all since Fuerte really needs his EX meter for runs and guacs (both for attack and escape).
I’m entering another tournament tomorrow. This will be Battle for the South which will feature other fighting games. If you guys have time, please watch the stream tomorrow at 1 PM Central.
I hope to make it on there.
I love qbomb but I don’t feel it’s better. It’s just a monkey wrench in the opponent’s thought processes. Lots of player think it’s just about focusing/backdash vs fuerte. If the opponent makes that a habit, run stop q-bomb makes them look stupid.
It’s also good for horizontal attacks.
And who doesn’t like hitting a kunai and smacking ibuki with the same move?
Besides. It’s manly.
Seriously: I think we’ve had success with it but I’m willing to bet everyone only really uses it once or twice a set.
Real answer: everyone knows I love qbomb and are just claiming to use it so I can shut up about it.
Since I can’t consistently hit a 3-4 hit RSF, I replace the 3rd hit with Quesadilla Bomb for guaranteed braindead damage (Pad foibles while I slowly learn stick)
I’ll be watching, dude! Best of luck!
I went to ai the other day since I’m down in socal for a family vacation and went about 15-7. I’m pretty pleased with my performance since I rarely get a chance to play with people offline. But of course, I lose matches that I have little to no experience. Sim and makoto
But overall I did well I think
Guys, I’m going to be on the stream later today! Wish me luck!
Give’em a beatdown!
Well, guys, I’m back from the tournament. For those of you who didn’t see it, I was fighting a E. Honda and it was a close fight, but IN THE END, I WON! The crowd went ecstatic every time I won. In fact, I heard the Honda player was a bit salty afterward.
Unfortunately, my next match, with a Rufus and which was not streamed, wasn’t so lucky. I then got sent to the loser’s bracket and lost to a Balrog.
With that all said, I wound up in the top sixteen out of over a hundred people. I think part of the reason I got that far is that barely anyone knew the matchup. In fact, a Ken I fought had no idea what to do. Right now, I feel like the El Fuerte equivalent of Gamerbee. The match is supposed to be on youtube sometime later. When it’s up, I’ll post it.
Good shit.
woah good work 16/100 is great
I’m not sure how many there were. There may have been as little as 128.
Now, aside from RSF as usual, I need to train to fight Fatass and Not Mike Tyson.
:razzy: Hey, I’m fatass! Not the fatass you’re talking about, but I’m honored all the same.
I suggest you look at the fuerte fitness topic haha, and Kuma what do you mean as little, 128 is a lot of people man
I mean that there may have been more. I probably should’ve said “at least” instead.
I forgot to mention this, but my parents were awesome in that they watched my part of the stream.
woah thats crazy lol, my parents yelled at me when i told them i won my tournament XD
Why did they yell at you.
Unfortunately, I didn’t remember what to do for Rufus and I got cornered. A guy I met today was telling me I should be playing a higher tier character for matchups like Rufus and do something with Fuerte (I forget). While I think most of what he said was a load, I may finally go back to Viper. She’s got pressure and mixups just like Fuerte.
no kuma. Learn the matchup, thats how you become an overall better player. Mixup mixup characters.
I suppose. I was having second thoughts earlier anyway. Might as well get people to shut up and give them a show.
Yeah Kuma, don’t switch. I gotta play your Fuerte when I get on xbl.
Ahhh, hey Fuerte players. I’m Kuma’s friend on another site. >_>
