Played around with Fuerte over the last couple days now, and I like a lot of what he has to offer. Its actually using what he has where I’m likely to struggle. But with the way I’ve been playing lately, I have nowhere to go but up (this state has likely been caused by me desperately trying to choose a main).
wow… i did so horrible today in my tourney, im so ashamed of myself, I played the worst game I have probably ever played in my life. time to train harder. it was such a horrid loss.
What happened? But hey, when you get down, the only thing you can do is get back up. By the way, I still can’t remember that Ultra setup you told me. I couldn’t hear you over everyone else.
I was looking at iplaywinner’s SSF4 page and my fighting style finally dawned upon me: Rushdown and Mix-Up. Now for future fighting games, I know what to look for.
Tried about a half dozen matches online (after some messing around in training), and I’m starting to get down with some of the ideas behind Fuerte. Sadly, my skill is at there weird level where I just get frustrated playing a lot of the people in Ranked (and since my PP is fairly low, I get stuck in a lot of games of Super Street Jumper IV), and if I play in Endless, I run into a lot of people who just crush me. Still, I tried some ranked play and had a blast, at least. Even when I was getting the crap kicked out of me by a Makoto.
I’m going to be thinking about food all day during work, I think.
In other news, I’m just loving that EX Dash-Ultra Spark option select. I’ve pulled it in two online matches with a total grin on my face. I can just see the look on their stupid faces.
What is the best way to beat dashes on wakeup? Like forward or backdash? I’m currently using late slide or late tortilla, but these are kind of easily countered since you have to do them late. What better options are there?
I’ve been wondering, is there a good training routine with Fuerte? I mean, there’s not a ton of great combos with the guy, to my knowledge. I do know of the RSF, is that something worth trying to get down right away, or is it something that I should start working on once I’m real comfortable with Fuerte?
Personally, I’d be more focused on getting your mixup game down and that can only be really improved with experience unless you want to look for options.
It doesn’t mean anything if you can pull off a large combo in training mode after all. You have to find setups.
