I dunno about you guys but I’ve been Izuna dropped many times when FA’ing that darn claw
Yeah, it’s possible, but very hard to do. Possibly you were dashing too early, which gives you an airbourne hitbox and makes it easier for them to Izuna drop you…?
I’ll mess around with it more around vega’s and see if that was the case
Any way I have a question about Jump in attacks made by Fuerte. If i do a jump in fierce and it hits I usually go for RSF but alot of times in replays I see people do Jump in Fierce/Roundhouse into Medium kick > splash/ tortilla.
I do this also but more so when the opponent blocks for the low hit. Do fuerte’s usually do this because its hard to hit confirm a jump in? or can I actually get hit out of Jumpin in Fierce/Roundhouse XX Fierce > RSF ?
edit Also if the fierce gets blocked can I still use it as a block string?
Ex: Jump in Round House > Fierce > crouching Mk > Tostada/tortilla/backdash/ whatever?
RSF is a better option. However, i tend to go for the c.mk -> splash/tortilla mixup online, simply because if the lag is messing up my timing, it is easier to perform. Once ive adjusted to the lag, just RSF that shit.
Definitely usable as a blockstring, but you cant splash safely, or do a safe tortilla off of a c.mk, so youre susceptable to DP’s, Ultras and other counters. Best to feel out their reactions first. ie. Do it once, then make it look like youre doing it again, but run back and block instead of splashing to gauge what they are attempting to do as a counter.
You cant get hit out of RSF if it hits unless you cock up the timing. The same is true with any combo. If its BLOCKED, then its a different matter.
HP headbutt can be punished by U2 on crouch block or stand block
MP headbutt can be punished by U2 only on stand block but has really weird timing
LP headbutt I wasn’t completely sure because LP headbutt should feel safe, but it can be punished with U2 on stand block
And you can’t slide teleport through him anymore ;-;
About the Vega stuff: The best option against his Izuna Drop stuff is to air throw or Guac (I use EX mostly), neutral jump or forward jump works for air throwing. Second best option is to focus it and punish with whatever. It’s the second best option because if you’re playing a good Vega, he’ll throw you instead of hit you but it’s pretty tough but it does a good chunk of damage.
Even though j.HP is a better ranged normal, j.HK is better for setting up RSF (since it hits much deeper), so use it if you can.
What difference does it make it you’re crouching or standing when blocking?
idk but I couldn’t seem to get it to connect on crouch block. I think it might be stand blocking your in less blockstun or some shit. I see a lot of things to punish Blanka Balls with different characters that you have to block it standing for it to connect or else it won’t.
Hmm, interesting. It must be an ease of input thing, because block stun is the same whether you’re standing or crouching… Well, as far as I know, since they don’t differentiate between the two in frame data.
I got 17th at a 62 man tournament…
SLAMS FIST ON TABLE…I lost to two bisons…TWO!!! his s.mk.s.hk raped…
Yeah I’m starting to get sick of Bison. I hate him so much. MK and HK scissors are punishable with U2 and cr. mk.
Like I said before, Bison’s a dic. I got to deal with at least one of these this Saturday and the best player in Louisiana plays as him.
I’m thinking of giving Fuerte a shot, I have just a couple questions:
- Fuerte seems definitely like an “all or nothing” kind of character. If I start to use him a lot, should I prepare myself for plenty of hardships?
2)Ultra I or Ultra II? I’m sure some of it depends on matchup, so then which should one choose in the event of a blind pick?
3)If I’m running and jumping around and my opponent thinks I’m a moron who has no idea what I’m doing, am I doing it right? That’s the vibe I get the few times I’ve fought a Fuerte.
- From watching a bit of Fuerte, it just seems like characters with a shoryuken or similar DP would have a field day with the little guy, are they easier to deal with than I’m thinking, or do you need to be extra careful with them?
-
Prepare for angry letters, salty opponents, and many losses
-
Blind pick ultra 2 without a doubt its much better then u1 aside a few match ups
-
That depends if you’re really an idiot, if not you’re doing great, the lesser your opponent thinks of you the more likely he’ll mess up ( and get mad when he loses )
-
RSF was made for dp spammers, if you’re mixing up just be careful and try and bait, you wanna let them know that shoryu is not the answer
Alrighty, thanks for the quick response. I’m hoping that I may finally be able to find myself a main in Fuerte. Making myself look like a complete idiot is something I excel at and if I can use that to my advantage, I think I may just like trying Fuerte. I just need to get done with my current losing streak first >_<
I lurk these forums at work a lot so i tend to post fast. Dont worry about losing, i think every new fuerte loses like 80% of the time whats important is that you learn
I’ve probably been losing about 80% of my matches lately anyways. Part of it is probably because I’ve stopped playing Ranked online (only Endless now :D) so I’ve been playing people a lot better than I am.
If you got a local scene you should go there too, if you’re lucky theres more fuertes
welcome to the world of fuerte! Private Eyeball
dont be scared of reversals guys. remember, if they press a button, there open for attack.
I got a tourney tomorrow, so if you guys are bored at home you can catch the stream, GUARD CRUSH 5 =) alot of high level players over there.
Got to mentally prepare and hopefully I do good. wish me luck =) hopefully I play on stream and do good lol
Private eyeball. Welcome!
Dp gets owned by ex guacamole. Ex guac beats every dp in the game.
