El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

Speaking of which, I need to look salty Mexican dishes, but I’m afraid that if I were to give it to people as a consolation prize, I’d get disqualified for being a sore winner.

EDIT: I got it! If I’m in the cooking mood, I’ll make tamales the day before and give them out to my opponents. The only problem is finding the ingredients as I don’t know of any ethnic food stores in Baton Rouge.

On a more in-game note, I’ve learned that it’s very dangerous to run towards Ibuki. I tried my best in Endless Mode and even stop to back crouch gives me enough time. On the other hand, cr.RH stops Neckbreaker.

That’s cool, but isn’t neck breaker like incredibly unsafe on block? Surely it’d be better just to block? I know for sure that you can reversal ultra spark on block.

Also, wouldn’t most off the floor moves stuff it, too? Like shower kick or dropkick?

It is, but I feel that running towards her is very risky if you’re not sure when she’ll pull it out. At least with just walking up to her, you can block on reaction instead of doing two inputs. That, and it’s easier, IMO, to deal with Kunai pressure.

I was thinking about this earlier, but does anyone feel that we’re the ones keeping the Fuerte metagame alive until the arcade release comes out?

just bait it. run stop block, and wait till she does it. and if she dont do it, then just assume shes not gonna do it. or you can do run stop neutral jump till she stops doing neckbreakers. just walk ibuki to the corner. since runaway kunai is the game till she gets a knockdown.

Just been testing it, Kuma. Seems like cr.RH isn’t the best solution to neck breaker, since it’s very slow to start and can be counter-hit or beat clean if you timing isn’t incredible (At least that’s what I found when testing against hp neck breaker).

Best option is shower kick from mid-screen. Sometimes it hits for a combo, or you just hop over her. Another good option is jump back jumping fierce punch into RSF. Very similar to Hakan’s slide punish, tbh. Far standing RH (dropkick) works really well from almost full screen.

I’m not sure what I was thinking last night consider that I have Ibuki as my secondary. I know better than that…

sPaB, I’m thinking it might be best that, when we play, we don’t talk. I’ve noticed that when I’m talking to someone while playing, I get do poorly on my reading. Nothing wrong with talking after, just think of the matches as a test and then review afterwords. I still appreciate your help in making me the best Fuerte player in Louisiana.

lol no problem, yeah thats fine though. You can do it, just need experience.

doublee post =|

Kuma i wont have my xbox for awhile, but when i get it back we’ll play

Great! You guys and the rest of SRK are my only source of practice for the time being, and I’m quite happy with it.

Shoutout to Paper and the other El Fuerte guy from Boston that I met there, I was the Edmund Honda from Hawaii. Shoutins to Kai for eliminating me from pools (while intoxicated.)

I wanted to learn how to use this character, if anyone could help me get started that would be awesome.

Look around the forum, theres alot good info. one thing I suggest is learning to control your run first. alot of people run really blindly lol

lool That reminds me of some Guile player I met once who refused to play against my elf saying that he only plays aginst frequently used characters to get matchup experience where it matters! it sucks how some people just forget about playing for fun once in a while. But I destroyed him the last time I played him before sending me this message, I don’t think he had much fun in that match so I’ll cut him some slack

Trying to work out my setup at home so that I can start recording some matches to share with you guys, will be greatly appreciating any sort of feedback then. Also my buddy is going to come over to my place some time next week, hopefully he can help me out in doing the Ultra spark reversals practice to fill up my reversal thread, doing it with the record functionality in training just doesn’t seem too reliable and I don’t want to provide any kind of wrong info.

That’s so lame. I hate when I get those kinds of messages. I mean, how often does someone play against a Fuerte?

“OMG. Not another Fuerte! I just played one 300 matches ago!”

lolz. these are the guys i love playing. they fill me with so much confidence from their salt in tourney play that i throw the next match due to laughing so hard.

it’s even better because my secondary char is Sim. For maximum annoyance my third is Adon, mash that Roundhouse.

Woo! I just won my first tournament!

Ill upload the semi finals, and finals vids in the video topic. This is a small step forward for fuertes everywhere ;_:

gj El Toro! we’re all proud of you!

Hell yeah, man, good stuff!

Awesome job El_Toro! While you were out winning tournaments I was at home making 12k BP Zangiefs quit midround :frowning:

Opinions on the Vs Zangief matchup? So far I’ve really only had one Zangief beat me, and even then it was really close, maybe I just don’t fight enough of them, but it is of my opinion that it’s very heavily favored for us.
