El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

I’ve been playing BlazBlue all day today, and it’s frustrating me. Hopefully, once I get the canceling in that game figured out, RSF should be easier to do.

I assumed we were talking about stuffing the slide with s.lk, not using s.lk after block.

I rarely use super also, since I also like to have some ex to rely on. However, you can’t really pass up getting a raw super like that; really good damage.

You can’t RSF, man? I assumed you could.

eh Honestly El fuerte’s super is kinda weak in the dmg department atleast to me it is.
330 isn’t that much when Meter can help you so much in other ways
I rarely use super unless I know it will kill the guy
or if I’m doing RSF and feel like making it look cool

Two hits and that’s about it. What made you think that I could. It’s not like I’m a noteworthy Fuerte player… yet.

Just noticed you posting and assumed you’d been maining him for a while. You give good advice, regardless of whether you can RSF.

I couldn’t RSF before, but it didn’t take me long to learn. I can usually manage four hits into slide consistently. For me, it seems it’s more about visual queues in the timing rather than anything else. You sort of get a feel for when you should be stopping the run so you’re in a good position for the next hit.

What I found particularly useful when learning was setting the dummy to all block and just repeating the loop over and over again to build muscle memory, without having to worry about whether you’re getting the combo down. Once you can feel how to the combo, you can start looking for those visual queues to nail it every time.

Still, seven hits is my record in training mode, so I’m no expert.

Also, when I was learning, I used to think I had to do the RSF faster than I actually needed to. Try slowing it down a touch and see what happens.

Also learning to RSF here and can only manage 2 hits, then I stop dead, not sure why it stops, since I continue doing the motions as normal. Might just need more practice, for people who get stuck on that first stop, I guess cr. lk xx cr. mk would be a good option to keep the opponent awake. I use a DS3 too, if anyone has any tips on RSFing I’d love to have some :]

I’ve been maining him virtually since the beginning. I don’t know if I give good advice. I don’t think being able to RSF is an indicator of the quality of a Fuerte player as I try to work on my okizeme and spacing instead.

I’ll have to try that.

This. THIS. THIS. THIS.
I’ve slowed down on my bufferings and I can pull it off much more consistently. I also realized to do this for BB combos. It’ll take time for that, but I can do one of Tsubaki’s BnBs.

I don’t either, but I get the feeling that a lot of players here think that if you can’t RSF then you shouldn’t play Fuerte. I think RSf is important, but it doesn’t define the quality of an Elf player. It’s only one his tools.

are you on stick or pad?

lol I’m using a DS3 because my stick broke but yeah I have the EXACT same problem. My fingers just freeze after number 2 and I have no idea why haha. On a stick I can piss 3 hits easy…Except on fucking Guile. But if you have plans on getting a stick, don’t try and learn RSF on the DS3 because it’s not worth it. Just go for cl. HK xx HK or EX Guac. What I CAN do, more surprisingly, on a DS3 is I can rscr.mk fast enough to go into shenanigans. I can’t get two cr. mk hits though, my fingers freeze there also.

I hate playing on a pad, but soon I’ll have my stick repaired (super shoutouts to Stevercakes)

Well, on the topic of Hakan earlier…

I’ve just been messing around in training, and it seems the best way to deal with slides from mid-to-three-quarter screen distance depends on your reaction speed. You can either jump back into a full RSF, or, you can stuff it with standing or crouching light kick. I find crouching easier. Other than that, you’ll probably have to block.

From almost full screen, you can reliably drop kick (far HK) on reaction. You’ll generally land on the opposite side of him, which can be good for mix ups. Follow up with tortilla, splash or overhead?

I was testing with the Hp version of his slide.

Ahhh! What the heck? I wonder what it is that does it exactly…? I have a modded TE stick that I got for my birthday last year… but I could never get used to it. :frowning: I really want to learn RSF over the combo you mentioned, simply because it is like the definition of a scary Fuerte, imo (and that’s what im shootin for)

Use your stick. I don’t recommend you go online with a pad anymore because it is MUCH easier to use a stick for RSF/Fuerte. I can’t stress this enough, get used to a stick. Of course you aren’t going to be better right away using a stick because you need a lot of practice. It took me about a month to fully get used to a stick and be able to pull off combos and stuff with ease. From there it took me about 2 weeks to get plinking down, and another to be able to use it in a match effectively. What I recommend you do is get your iPod or something, stuff it with music/podcasts and hit training mode and do these (sort of in order, but it’s up to you):

Find a way to hold your stick - I use it like in the first pic, but use whatever is comfortable.

Find a way to have your other hand hover over the buttons - My thumb rests on lk and is able to switch to mk at any time for techs and FA, my index is on lp, my middle is on mp, my ring is on hp. I don’t ever use macros unless I set them to FA and taunt to focus taunt lol.

Blocking - set something up using your pad so you have to block high, low, crossups, etc.

Dashing (forwards and backwards)

Focus attacks

Focus dashing (forwards and backwards)

Throwing

Jumping over the opponent in a constant arc, but crouching after each one.

QCF (you can try Fuerte, but I still would recommend Ryu) - both sides

QCB (You can use Ryu here also for Tatsus) - both sides

DPs

charging back

charging down

And then try ultras.

It’s going to take a while, but it’ll be worth it.

Also for PSN users, the Fuerte avatar went up yesterday so go buy it for $0.50

I got a tournament this saturday…wish me luck Amigo’s!!!

Cool, man. Good luck.

Get someone to record your match so we can watch it, okay?

Lol after I destroyed his Sagat.

Its goin rain allright, rain tears

I just had someone kick me from endless because he “refuses to play against Elf or Sim”.

…He told me he’d much rather fight against the army of Ryu/Ken players than Elf.

I sure he would after receiving an expansive meal of various mexican dishes.
