El Fuerte General Discussion Thread

If you can rsf, they’ll dp way less, but if you pressure them enough it’ll force a dp out of em, gotta find the right balance. I agree that doing cr.hk and getting hit by a dp can be used as an advantage, id be happy to take a dp if next time i can rsf. Also for pokes id rather use the dropped combo to escape and attack from there, but cr.jab has served me well if you gotta toss something out there.

Hey, I’m ordering a fight pad because I finally have enough money to replace my system and stop practicing on the PC. I’ve recently been getting the hang of rsf with a logitech d-pad. What I want to know is: is it possible to do the c.mk run stop pressure with a fightpad(without hurting your fingers)?

Grats on the paid its a step closer to a stick lol, it is possible it’ll just be really difficult. Just find the video on cr.mk loop and apply it to the pad. Although if you dont have rsf down you should work on that first

A little stealth brag, i hit 12 rsfs today :D, im coming after your record paper:arazz:

Not to derail the thread too much, but I find that I can’t perform with Fuerte as well if I’m not listening to certain kinds of upbeat/funky/fast music… how very odd.

Fuck dat fight pad, Stick or die my friend.

This is my choice for music to duel by:

In all seriousness, though, this:

I use pad and I surprise my friends everytime when using Fuerte.

Look, I tried to do RScr. mk on a pad a long time ago and I figured its impossible. I’m returning to pad (barely using Fuerte, just Gief) and its doable but I can’t do it.

That’s because it just requires practice, that’s all. Get your thumb in the rhythm of doing qcf, then try to sync the lp ~ mk into it. It’s mainly muscle memory because your hand isn’t probably use to doing that pattern at that speed. It’s not about the speed more than it is merely about the rhythm. I’m using a fightpad, so I use it hybrid style, which means the left hand is holding it while the right hand is tapping at the six face buttons like an arcade stick. I’m still practicing it, but that’s alone because I just now decided to put it into my offense. Playing an offensive El Fuerte is just as successful as a turtling one. His F+ MK is fast and keeps the pressure. If you’re holding Kick while you’re doing this, you can be ready for an expected focus, or merely Dash - grab the person.

El Fuerte is a clock killer, but he gets most of his wins from stunning and or damaging the opponent if he’s being offensive. Unlike other characters in the game, El Fuerte can keep a much longer block string with his dash move, and this has helped a lot of good El Fuertes I’ve seen be able to keep the pressure on good players. I still haven’t mastered dash ~ stop to where it would be effective for split second decisions, but when I do, my game will be that much better. It’s like every month, I’m climbing over a new milestone in learning El Fuerte.

Hey guys made a new thread to better teach fuertes what they should do in order to become a stronger fuerte.

I intend to add videos for RSF, Cr. Forward, and Cr. short loops as well as many of his other combos.

There will also be extreme in-depth information on El Fuerte’s moves, speaking of the different situations that could occur and how to strengthen your okizeme game.

I have already added a RSF section, and I rewrote the safe tortilla explanation 100% from scratch, please check it out!

While I am working on this I have a challenge for you Fuerte players, just like my thread it is targeted to everyone, including brand new fuertes, vet fuertes, and non-fuerte players.

===================================

Go into training room, pick El Fuerte vs Rufus

Keep Rufus standing, and turn the stun off.

Now try to cross up the standing rufus with a J.RH.

==============================

Please find a pen and paper before you start it, mark the time you start it, when you first landed it, and how long until you could consistently land both of it or gave up.

This is a simple challenge for any player, casual fuertes, top fuertes, even random non-fuerte players.

(use of accelerated wall jump is not allowed)

well ive been playing pad Fuerte since SSF4 and tried that shit on my TE and i find its just easier and faster to do it on pad, at least till i get a bat top on that mother fucker. that ball shit is stupid and hurts my wrists when i want to dash with other characters and fighting games.

but i DO wanna learn RSF. shit looks so hard but also awesome too.

Will do paper. Looking forward to the vids

SF vs Tekken is confirmed

GOD LET THERE BE FUERTE, MY MOUTH IS DROOLING OVER THE POTENTIAL FUN!

El Fuerte vs. King

MAKE IT HAPPEN CAPCOM!

“If you are Rey Tigre, you must fight like one, my friend!”

don’t know much about Tekken but I’m pretty sure they dont have any wake up options other then rolling sideways in 3D, but since this is 2d… fuerte food? :o

Fuerte (if he makes it) and Lee Chaolan all the way.

Edit. Guys. I think we need to start using standing mk more.

This move. Far close and target combo being sped up has been really good for me during footsies. It stuffs looks pretty safe on block too.

A shenanigan that has benefitted me so far was shower kick to clmk.

Agree with standing mk, it comes out pretty fast and helps a lot in breaking the other player’s momentum.

not very excited yet about the idea of SF vs Tekken, but if there is Fuerte vs. King sign me up  (seriously put Fuerte in any game and I am in!)

does anyone else find it funny that paper suggested NOT doing rsf online, but doing it himself on his videos?
just curious…

far mk is -4 on block and I think it looks really ugly :frowning: I’d use it very occasionally.

Also I realllyyyy hope Fuerte is in SFvT.

And then I got thinking about Fuerte in 3S online…Would he be terrible because of parrying? Better? I know he wouldn’t work in that game, but I have a feeling he could be better but I can’t elaborate as to why.
