"Eh... What the hell?" Cody Q&A Thread

Frame traps in SFxT are sooooo weak since a throwing game doesn’t exist really. Not with that range and that walk speed.
Also, even if you land an opening, you deal pathetic damage. Even on counter hit, he doesn’t really gain new links. You end up going into launcher or switch cancel no matter what.

O for fucks sake.

Zonk knuckle (even level 3) doesn’t have a small enough hurt box to go through a low tiger shot.

Cody also has no way to get around Jin’s fireball without burning a bar as his slide doesn’t go far enough and Zonk knuckle loses it’s upper body invincibility before it it moves far enough.

On the very small plus side. If you do EX Ruffian you are projectile invulnerable during the charging period so you can actually do EX CADC to get through fireballs instead of the ruffian itself. And against Sagat’s high tiger and Alisa’s rocket punch (all versions)… this will tickle you… you can do b.MP to avoid the fireball with proper timing. Cody’s upper body invincibility with b.MP lasts long enough and is just barely high enough on his body that he can do a b.MP and avoid those 2 fireballs (I think he could avoid a MK Fuhajin from Juri too)

Still, the fact Cody has NO way around low tiger shot or Jin’s fireball is far worse than the fact he has an additional fancy way around high tiger shot (you could just crouch or slide) and alisa’s rocket punch (you can slide under this easy) And Cody can’t slide under Raven’s shuriken since it’s too low to the ground, but thankfully Cody can level 3 (and only level 3) zonk through it unlike low tiger shot.

Yet another reason why Cody is le crap.
Here’s hoping that they will use Alpha Cody for the next SF instead of SFxT Cody.

AWESOME! So far it seems Cody’s nj.HP may be the ONLY normal in the entire game (and one of the only moves that isn’t a throw) that has ZERO juggle potential.

But y’know… he needed to be hit with the nerf truck. :expressionless:

I’ve gone through a bunch of the cast so far and haven’t found a single other instance of a character with a normal attack that has zero Juggle potential. And only a handful of moves with 0JP period (Balrog’s TAP has 0JP as well oddly.)
