I say focus on the furture, there is hella new people trying to get into sf in this city, Lets focus on building on w/e the fuck we got.
People are going to play with friends and not invite people they don’t like BIG DEAL, what we need is a spot we can all go and play at and have fun while not breaking the bank. If there are “secrite groups” so what? Its not like anyone has the right to be allowed at someones house, if your invited then your invited, if not, deal with it!
SfxT is right around the corner and we should focus on that, I’ll be handing out flyers at the midnight release tournament (which btw sign the fuck up online, I wont be taking signups at the event) and if i have the chance to talk about our scene on ctv on monday I will. We gotta spread the word. lots of people don’t even know we have a scene here to begin with.
Hmm I have an extra xbox at my place… I’m going to see if I can get this shit modded and get the game. If I manage to do so I’ll invite anyone to come by and try the game, I want everyone in the scene to have a fair chance at playing the game.
I think it’d be wise if I just kept this extra xbox for any future fighters that come out… >.<
Tuesday afternoon I’m going HARD on SFxT. Hitting the ground running. I’m going to practice as rigorously as possible before the 17th.
I still have a lot of extra gameplay hours for OK that I’ve accumulated from Wednesdays. If anyone wants to get some extra practice in, give me a shout and we can run sets.
hi fellas just got a text from my cousin…he has 4 games he wants me to pick one…TEKKEN HYBRID, JAK AND DAXTER HD COLLECTION, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND , SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS COLLECTION…don’t know which one to pick…will appreciate your input thanks…
Yo Gordon, a new combo video challenger has entered the ring!
Bet you can’t do combos and answer the phone at the same time, but prove me wrong
Hmmm… two fighters that might see limited play, or a platformer I’ve never played in J&D. I however loved Shadow of the Colossus, and while its not for everybody, its the closest games get to art level IMO. That’d be my vote.
Ok serious response time. The only game we are free to calgary in is sf4, and you were one of the top players in our city that quit playing sf4 along with john and paul. No one one to blame there it’s just the way it worked out.
Ever since I’ve been participating in tourneys and going to casuals I’ve noticed that people have always played with friends when there hasn’t been a central location to play. It’s pretty normal in my books no use in getting offended by not getting a direct invite. That’s kind of how it works even more so as you grow up and your circle of friends gets smaller and responsibilities increaseBefore OK decided to jack prices everyone was 1 group regardless of the game we were playing. Yeah there was clique but that’s par for the course at least we all jammed at the same location. my 2 cents.
I also know of a lot of people who can’t jam on Wednesdays. What about Tuesdays?
i really hope you etown guys can get your shit together for the greater good of building your FGC. stop waving your dicks around and just learn to accept each other’s differences. calgary also has about 4 or 5 different little groups but all of our groups are interchangable because we learn to get along. for example theres the VC/4D group, me, sang, thuyet, sam and nav. then theres the Board Game group, dug, adam, mike m, and ricky. then theres Team LAB, jamie, falken, tyler. then theres Team CCG greg, derryk, troy, lapchi. there’s no animosity towards each other and each of us are welcome to join a different group anytime, anywhere. it’s impossible to not have little groups within the FGC but its true, you do need a location where all groups can come together at least once on a weekly basis. good luck guys and support each other.
Well there is a local joint that is a theater area/t-shirt design place that basically said we are all good to play there at the $5.00 a person (although we need atleast 20 people to go there) they have net so streaming isnt a big deal, also they server alcohal lol. I am hoping to speak to the guy who owns the place on friday and see if we cant get something working.
Only real down side is we will need to bring our own shit, take the good with the bad I guess. I can say I don’t mind to brining a setup, I can talk to Cam, she didn’t seem to have an issue bringing a console, so eh, we’ll see
i dont understand why you wouldnt find a place that wont charge a venue fee. its ridiculous, nobody would go to Tubby Dogs or Dickens if we had to pay. HQ is a different story though since SF4/MvC3 IS the business and we gotta make rent somehow. the scene won’t grow if you have to pay to play, straight up.
