Casuals
Hi everyone. So I talked to Raiden, Jimmy and Shiro and it was pretty much agreed upon that U of A would be a good place to host meetups for WNF.
I’m gonna have to get my friends to put their names as placeholders on a signup list for a student group. Then after that it’s pretty much just a matter of working out the formalities for renting space.
I dunno if i mentioned this, but most room at the U of A are almost always opened. Also Security is almost non existent there >.> Wonder what all the fees are for lol.
Hey folks,
After a little searching around, I realized that this would probably be the best place to introduce myself to other fighting gamers living in the Edmonton area. I’ve always been a fighting game lover, but I have only played them casually for the most part, either with friends when they come over, or online. Having moved across the country due to being transferred for work, the whole “with friends when they come over” thing has really taken a hit. After thinking of doing this for a long time, I finally found the motivation today (due to getting tons of hype from watching non-stop Cross Assault) to look into the scene here in Edmonton… So here I am!
As I said, I have only ever played casually, but I would love to learn a little bit more so I would actually be able to hold my own in a tournament. All the SFxT hype finally made me cave and order a Qanba R4RAF stick, and I’d love to put it to good use while I learn a thing or too.
I’ve played a little of everything, from SF2 to SSF4:AE, A little Tekken, Some DOA, KOF (Although I still haven’t gotten my hands on XIII).
So Hey guys! I don’t want my first post to end up reading like a bad grade 8 short story, so I’ll stop here. I look forward to learning more about this whole thing you have going on on here, and My name is Devin, but you might as well just call me Deevo (everyone else I know does anyways).
Deevo
Oh, and if there is a better place to post this introduction, let me know and point me in the right direction. Thanks!
Ok so here’s the current breakdown.
-Every seconds monday there is a group of about 10-15 guys who play kof13, mvc3, sf4 ae, w/e just email cf.edmonton@gmail.com and let them know you’d like to put your name in and they’ll make room for you.
-There is a tournament coming on the weekend of the 17th in March. Keep an eye out for it here.
- A big group was going to Overklocked every wednesday but they jacked the price up and that has fallen apart. We are working on securing a free place to meetup that serves beer and as a bonus and doesn’t get offended by our inability to bottle the hype.
Welcome aboard. Where are you from btw?
I think he’s from Edmonton.
