Edmonton Thread - 2012

I’m actually getting pretty consistent with my lightning loops. Though since training mode doesn’t hit back, my match experience in marvel is pretty damn low. I know once I start playing some of the edmonton fgc I’m going to have big problems with hit confirms since that was a huge problem whenever I played anyone online.

That and I don’t even have a solid third member to my team yet ;_;

CEO was pretty hype too. Rufus has been dominating the past few tournaments too hasn’t he? Weren’t UFGT and ECT both Jwong vs Ricky*? We almost had that again which would’ve been pretty shitty. Although seeing Momochi lose 3-0 was pretty bad itself

Ceo was pretty nuts, Flocker and his loops peaced so many people oujt. someone nees to learn that character asap!

I played a bit of vanilla marvel and I used to play zero as a main. I think I’ve attempted lighting loops in matches before; but not getting them down consistently.

But then I switched to SSF4. Dat Ibuki vortex lolol.

Soooo what ur saying is when they release super ultra ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3 arcade edition and have ibuki in it, ull play her over zero? I’m fine with that, as long as she doesn’t have his forward H and lighting loops

Really? We could end up seeing Simond come out to ABD3 and picking Zero. You want to learn the match up NOW before you get fucked in one of those sort of matches

She was apparently planned for tatsunoko vs capcom but with the time restraint they coulden’t do it. It would be interesting to see her play in a different playstyle thats for sure.

I would either have her as a secondary or main. Vortex woulden’t exist because on wake-up you can roll.

Thats why I have been trying learn the zero match up. So far, I am only confident in using she hulk or hawkeye against him. I have no idea how to deal with zero using wesker.

Yes. The last couple of times someone ponied up for a marvel station which works for me.

Here’s the conundrum: Lets say 12 people show up for sf and each pay 5 bucks we would then get 3 stations of sf. Then 4 people show up just for Marvel and pay 5 bucks each then we would get 1 station for marvel. If 4 people who came for sf wanted to play marvel as well as sf then we would need to get another marvel station or turn a sf station into a marvel station. Getting another station just for Marvel doesn’t really make sense because it would cost extra money. So lets say the other option is to turn a sf station into a marvel station. When it comes down to paying for the stations if we stick to 4 people per station then the there should $2.50 left over after 5 hours per station. Which game’s prize pool does that go towards? What do we do if the numbers aren’t cookie cutter and there are 2 people who came for marvel and one of them wants to play sf and six sf guys want to play marvel too?

Now I’m projecting that some people are going to want to at least play casuals for both games. If somehow that doesn’t happen I’d be really surprised. This is also assuming I’m willing to be responsible for the marvel side which I’m not. I already don’t get to play casuals as it is because I’m running brackets. Now I gotta collect money and keep track of who is playing what? Not really what I bargained for when I started this thing.

The only solution in my head that made any sense was to double charge people who wanted to play both games and have someone else organize the marvel side of things. The only problem with that is trying to collect from people who just want to play one game of marvel and don’t feel they should have to pay to play both games.

I don’t see using the sf4 entrance money being used to get marvel stations unless these things can be addressed first.

All i know about zero is that lighting is not safe without buster, and i hope for the best.

What time is WNF usually? if its not too late i wouldnt mind coming out, if im not working.

Wesker: Hopeless for me, since hes always airborne. I try to gun shot zone but usually fails
She Hulk: Air Grab Super
Spencer: Team Super at the right time.
Hawkeye: GIMLET that Buster/Teleport/Lightning loop

Its really hard to air grab zero from what I have experienced. I dunno how fast the buster comes out, I would guess its like 1-5 frames or something along those lines.

I think Taskmaster would do pretty well against zero using different angled arrows. Also do not try to challenge that St.H I dont know whats with that move, but it seems to beat anything other than attacks with invincible startup LOL

That St. H is pretty ridiculous, seems like its out for days
