Early Sign ups for OK Ranbat 2.2 are up here.
Last weeks results are here.

Last week we had Stevefrom780 come from no where and take 1st place and it looks like the competition is only getting stronger this week with another player coming by for the first time that could potentially go all the way. Bee’s back from Vegas too. Could be a hard night to squeeze out ranking points.

Huh, I think the overall standing’s for points needs to be updated. I’m going for first place again, I won’t give up! >:U

No, there isn’t a tab for Overall standings just season 1 overall standings. I didn’t put a tab in for season 2 overall standings because there’s only been one ranbat for it. Don’t give up Cam. You are leveling up fast now that you have a goal to achieve.

wont rest til i destroy jimmy and the steves…

I signed up in advance this time. raiden who is the mystery guest

fakesteve, what’s going on with the xbl family pack?

who needs xbl when you can just come over  i dunno yet ill let you know though

I’ll give you a clue.

jj?

I kinda like the oringinal design

=p

That’s Rufus’ original design.

Is it a Rufus player?

Holy shit, Seth Killian is leaving Capcom…

Smart move, s-kill. Abandon a sinking ship before you drown.

On the bright side, at least Seth doesn’t have lie to himself anymore. His philosophy on fighting games took a complete 180 when he joined Capcom.

And now Air is talking about taking a hiatus from pro fighting games…

Bump for tonight.

Lol @ capcom going backrupt because their once practically non-existent fighting game division is not making sf4 money atm. It’s just saturated again. His attitude changed because he went from being a hardcore tournament player to a person that gets paid to promote a new video game. What’s remarkable about that? Here’s a sound business model: Make your fighting games as inaccessible as possible so eventually you widdle down the player base to three guys in a basement who only buy one copy of the game.

James jones = rufus player

Seriously, I hate it when people say shit like* “making a game inaccessible”*. NONE of the games before SF4 were inaccessible. Not ST, not, CvS2, not 3S, none of them. Even the hardest tournament game of them all - MvC2, even that game was accessible at the lowest levels of competition (casual play).

All of the new (Capcom) games are accessible and so are the old ones. Only at the higher/highest levels of competitive play (tournaments) did the old/new games become inaccessible to new players. That’s how it should be.

Please explain to me why a game like SFxT (which is overly accessible), why does the competitive community shit on such an accessible game?

Oh, here’s another one… explain to me why ST replaced HDR as the main SF2 game at tournaments. HDR is far more accessible to new players (due to easier motions) and yet you don’t see it at tournaments anymore (except for Canada Cup).

execution is not the only thing people talk about when they talk about accessibility.

Readily available good quality joysticks
Quality connection online play
Mission mode/ Tutorial
Appealing visuals
Easy attainable information on the game/characters online.
Social media marketing

all of those contribute to a more accessible game compared to the older titles.

Jeff I hope you come to Summers Salt because if you don’t its going to be a boring ass 3 man tournament. Dean isn’t going to beat me and neither is smozzler =p
=( I want that Balrog! See if my scrubby Chun can finally beat you =p

Oh and Paul isn’t entering… No idea if Zack will come

Also think ABD3 needs some side hdr going on =p

The only thing I have really disliked about the next games over the years is easy inputs. I hate that shit. Oh that and auto correct

Those are all valid points but SFxT pretty much has all of those points (visuals are subjective) and it’s still shit on by the majority of the FGC. It’s to the point where it’s not even streamed or has limited stream time at major events. Obviously, the main thing why it’s shunned is because the game is flawed on so many design levels and it should be rightfully shunned.

KoFXIII has all of that with maybe the exception of the online play (again visuals are subjective) yet it still struggles to get the numbers in North America. Granted, it’s on the rise but it still pales in comparison to the numbers that SF4 and MVC3 get. A lot of the time people will say they love watching KoFXIII but they won’t play it because of the execution requirements in comparison to SF4 and MvC3.

Okay, I guess attainable information is also subjective as people still don’t know about SRK and Dreamcancel is also obscure.
