using 1 assist to continue a combo, to use if you play him in the 2ed spot, using a simple yet not gimicy assist like a tatsu or a tk shot. I believe that Ghost Rider works best in the 2ed spot because his combos dont gain a hole lot of meter by themselves so hes needs a battery character to play on point. He also doesnt need a otg assist or a wall bounce one as he already has access to those moves when it comes to combos, when it comes to picking your assist I think its more important to pick a character as a better anchor rather then a better assist.

You can’t throw people in hitstun or blockstun so no. You can start devastating combos with it, however.

Level 3 set up, guaranteed to work at least once.

On incoming characters in the corner. H.Hellfire. Incoming character has to block it, then they have to land. Cancel recovery frames into Penance Stare. That one second that people think about what to do to, they get scooped up.

someone up there asked about what penance stare resets they use to set the move up. one ive wanted to try out (but due to lack of people to play against have been unable to do, is after tagging in Ghosty with a TAC, dont follow up the hit and just let them fall to the ground, and perform the level 3 after they recover since it is a forced recovery and they cant change the direction. i reckon you could get it to hit once before they start to hold up/back.

also a combo i figured out yesterday using vergils rapidslash assist, cant remember how much damage it does, and it requires the corner when using vergil assist. it is likely you can use other full screen multihit assists in place of rapidslash and maybe make it a midscreen combo, the important thing is that the assist needs to be called so that doesnt allow the first chain of rebuttal to cause a wallbounce. (assist hits AFTER 3rd chain hit)

you can also put an xfactor in there near the end as well if you want to style a little bit more after the wallbounce

im fairly certain that the single J.M is because the additional scaling from the extra hits causes the J.S to whiff when using two mediums after the launch. im sure with two correct assists you could put off the wallbounce for an extra rep for more damage/hits.

My basic GR combo is: [optional Air S] st H, st H, DPF L, st H, st H, QCB L, Call Nemesis (Launcher Slam), Back H, st H, QCB L, QCF L (cancel on first hit), QCF ATK + ATK (mash) = 700k (This doesn’t DHC well with Nemesis though unless you’re near enough to the corner)

For a DHC: st H, st H, DPF L, st H, st H, QCB L, Call Nemesis (Launcher Slam), Back H, st H, QCB H, DPF ATK + ATK + S after 10 hits, DHC Nem = around 750k (Not great damage for a DHC but its ok if you really need to safe switch)

Fancy combo with GR/Nemesis (launcher slam)/Doom (hidden missiles)

st. H, st. H xxx qcb L, call Nemesis, B+H, st. H, st. H, dp + M, st. H + Call Doom, qcb H, wait until missiles OTG, st. H xxx qcb L, qcf L xxx Hellfire Maelstorm.

Does 720k

you can kara his hellfire L otg with st.B and it’ll connect after a qcb H. this does more damage then qcb L into hellfire L

Simple combo extension with Dorm’s dark hole assist:

Standard GR BnB [st.H, H xx chain of rebuttal, st.H, H, delay, S, sj.MMS, dash as necessary + hellfire OTG] + call Dorm during the dash after landing from the air series so that Hellfire picks them up into Dark Hole. Hit them out of the Dark Hole with Conviction Slam (qcb + H) and finish with Spirit of Vengeance. ~680k. I tried to do other stuff like relaunch or more H’s before the Conviction Slam, but there seems to be too much hitstun deterioration after the dark hole. Not the greatest damage but still more than a solo BnB or the Dorm assist combo that’s currently in the first post, can be done anywhere on the screen, and Spirit of Vengeance sets up DHCs very well. To do it in the corner you have to backdash after landing so that you are far enough away from them for Dark Hole to connect.

The difference between this combo and the Dorm combo in the first post is basically that you do the launcher variant of GR’s BnB instead of the qcb + L variant, and use qcb + H after Dark Hole instead of qcb + L and Hellfire OTG. The notation would be:

st.H, H xx dp L, st.H, H, delay, S, sj.MMS, dash [forward for midscreen or back when landing in corner] + call Dorm, qcf L, qcb H, dp super

Nice, I didn’t know this. With this in mind you could use it to Hellfire L + Hellfire Maelstrom after the qcb + H at the end of the Dorm combo I posted above, dunno if it would do more damage, but worth trying.

does anyone know how to use GR level 3 in the middle or end of a combo? I see x factor cancel or from karas, but I’m not looking for that. I saw one a while back but now can’t find that video.

You can’t combo into it, it’s a grab they can’t be in hit stun or guard stun or else he won’t grab you. The best use I’ve found for his lvl 3 is to punish someone who won’t get out his face or Kara grab an incoming character.

dude you really dont want to use that superskrull assist, you can use orbital grudge the same way in a combo and orbital grudge is good for zoning to get them off you and to start combos…

I tried used SS-y during: :h:,:h:,:dp::l:,:h:,:h::qcb::l:,:d::df:+:a1::f:+:l:,:qcb::l:,:dp::2p:,:qcb::2p:
I tried getting orbital grudge to work in there but I couldn’t get it to combo. I also tried it during :b: :h: + :a1:
still no luck

Try calling the assist right before your :qcb::l:, that’s how I use Dorm (a) assist.

Theres any way to combo off air throw midscreen?

Wow, so nobody has found any great ghost rider tech? is he that linear? :frowning:
What a shame.

He’s incredibly one dimensional. There’s very little variety to what you can do with him. He’s a fairly incomplete and poorly designed character. I like playing him though because he’s my favorite comic book hero, lol.
