well you posted, so technically, I’m not necroing the topic. it’s only recently you guys start making it known you have “problems” with it. At least I’m on topic and post relevant news. Like this Q&A for example. Surely some fighting fans would find this interesting how the devs really are taking this fighting game’s gameplay and features very seriously, no other fighting developer in the WHOLE industry is putting the money, technology, breakthroughs, talent and effort they are doing with this. http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10025467.page Ohhh, but SRK community goes head over heels to promote and support indie fighters like Skullgirls.

What kind of logic are you guys trying to use here? Like this
So let me get this straight,
**Sim fighters are only good if they are “truly” realistic
Sim fighters can never be “truly” realistic
Therefore Sim fighters can never be good?
**
Those premises don’t make sense. There’s no reason you should have some weird arbitrary pass/fail system for these games. That’s not how other sports games even work.
[’-’] How’s that new MLB the Show?
(’.’) Great, I really like that-
[-_-] Does it translate the feeling of holding a beautiful wooden bat?
(’.’) Well, I guess not but-
[>_<] THEN IT’S WORTHLESS!!!
I think this game could help the fgc be even more diverse than it has been.
They can definitely be fun. I’m a huge mma fan and I like it for the same reasons I like FG’s. It’s one on one problem solving. When it comes to being competitive well… They may not have been super competitive in the past but that doesn’t mean they can’t be.
Look at it this way. If you look at the few mma fighters there’s been chronologically they, in general, have been maturing with the recent undisputed series as their best product yet. Hopefully this new one further develops that sub-genre.
And if the FGC decided to fully support the game then as the competitive fanbase they could help make the next games better. Especially at a time when EA is thirsty for some esports. Basically they’ll give us the game we want if we let them know that there’s money to be made. Cuz that’s how company’s work.
I’m a fan of the UFC as well, but i remembered playing the demo for Undisputed 3 and i just couldn’t get into it for some reason. Although, to be fair, i don’t think that demo did it any justice really.
Thanks for replying though, i have my eyes on this one.
Hurray an intelligent open minded post. ** WELL SAID.** before this, the thread was trolling with mostly ignorant haters and Capcom zealots that want the Street Fighter fighting format to be uncontested in the genre (they know they can’t win against Nintendo fans, that’s why they gave SSB a pass, lol.)
Yeah, EA Sports are the only ones taking fighting games to greater levels of gameplay and standards. And this is the first of the new generation!!
The sequels to follow will develop, expand and improve things even further!!
This is next gen advanced. the ignorant masses are ranting about this and that, but overall it’s very solid and professional.
The complaints about the movement. It’s a videogame, do you know how complex it is to simulate a REAL FIGHT? There are countless directions the mind can go and ways the body can move, so even split second redirections in movement/speed/positioning, can seem clunky in a videogame, but overall necessary to give players that freedom to change direction, otherwise the controls would feel sluggish and unresponsive if there
was fully committed motions/animations that can’t be cancelled into another action/movement.
the complaints about the submission HUD. Overall it’s effective. Don’t think it’s immersion breaking at all
because it keeps players centered on the action, while still providing the necessary visual information to
act, react and progress effeciently. The HUD has a nice transparent effect to it too. Overall they did a revolutionary and outstanding breakthrough with this submission system.
complaints about the striking/hits. Just watch a real MMA match and you will see hits that seem slow
and not that damaging are in fact more dangerous and hurt more than it seems. The body is tough, but
pain is invisible, and hits are harder than they appear. It’s more realistic than adding artificial sound effects or special effects to make it seem like it’s a “very damaging hit”. This type of fighting game aims for realism for fans that want more realistic fights, so it does succeed on MULTIPLE LEVELS.
Overall EA Sports UFC deserves a lot more respect and understanding than people care to adapt to.
You won’t find another developer that can match this level of authenticity, innovation and revolutionary steps forward for the genre and sport itself.
Nice!! Now people will calm down asking when’s the demo.
It’s crazy even to this day, the PS4 and Xbox One masses (well the industry for the most part), are still saying IGNORANT things like:
So many uneducated Capcom/Street Fighter brainwashed trash heads out there.
I’m looking forward to USFIV as well, but to believe EA Sports UFC is “not” a fighting game also, is worse than ignorant, it’s just plain brainless.
It took a direct official link to a major store’s official industry level global categorization of the game to make them shut up.
Well at least in some places, educated people commented at the stupidity and misguided thinking out there.
Ah well, Street Fighter and its clones influence really has an unhealthy hold on the genre. but people can educate themselves, and even learn to appreciate more realistic fighting simulators, which is something arcadey games can’t substitute nor explore.
Found some casual matches. Really next gen level presentation and solid gameplay for their first UFC.
This is really going to expand the fighting genre much better with more quality flavors, and advancements to realistic fighting games as well.
here are some Tutorials. A lot of fighting game fans will appreciate the depth the more they understand it.
I played the shit out of this. Its design and systems are excellent except the sub system is retarded. But most fights end in random 60 secs. With a patch to increase the stamina and damage you can take by 300 percent. It be awesome ,as of now also with there idea of balancing games fucked. You pick top tier and unless ya fuck up, ya win.
Game could be legit but as long as they use real life ranking to give stats 99% of the cast is unused and pretty worthless. Alot of money wasted on graphics n motion capture of people who never get played.
Hey, this would be the first game I would buy when I get a PS4, but now’s not the time to rush for a PS4, I have to get a TV that supports HDMI first anyway, and that will cost a bundle, and there are other financial situations to consider. EA Sports UFC is around, it’s even digital, so not like they are gonna run out of copies. Plus PS4 has to get some updates before it’s more stable and decent, it’s still pretty new and naked right now. Does it even have youtube support yet? Wonder if the internet browser is better than PS3’s, I read the PSN Store loads faster, though.
Here are some fan reactions to the new updates/improvements:
Overall it’s much better than people give credit, and these improvements are making it a more solid fighting game.
You can just do dick shit like choose a olympic wrestler and takedown and ground in pound and ya have no chance in hell on getting the wrestler off no matter how well ya plan your transitions. Your thinking well dont let um take ya down right. Nope games whole system is based on stats. Even if ya try to stop the take down 99% of the time ya lose and get dumped.
But a broken game can still be fun…the topper is the onlines a server laggfest. I got alot of the online achievments and someday go back to just do the carreer. As its a single player game basically
