This has been known for a while. It’s been in the GSO for about 3-4 months I believe. Them finally announcing it though is just…surprising. Surprising and dumb. Lol

I really don’t know who over there in the higher ups thought it would be a good idea to remove the consistent discount throughout the year AND have the balls to ask for $5 more for the subscription. What kind of hustling backwards shit is this?
Edit: and then the REALLY shitty thing out of this is that this is going to come down on the employees because we both know that when the subs fall down they’re gonna start blaming them for their dumb decision. I mean if they’re looking for an excuse to close stores and fire people to save money then they’ve definitely found it.

Like…I don’t feel bad for GameStop. I feel bad for their customers. GameStop is clearly showing their hand and is telling the customer base we just want you for the money. I mean, every goal of a business is to make money, I get that, but you should also try to make it a fun, unique experience that wants to make people come back. That’s how you get returning customers. Especially in specialized retail like video games, comics, board games etc.
I feel bad for people in rural-ish areas like the one I currently live in. GameStop is pretty much the only gaming store around. So they just have to deal with it. There is a mom and pop video game store chain scattered around but like…they’re shady as fuck and that’s putting it mildly.
There actually was another mom and pop store that was extremely popular in the town I currently live in and the towns around me. But every single one of their locations got shut down around 5 years ago when people found out that at the request of the company owner that they were paying teenagers to go Walmart’s and GameStop’s to steal product and bring it to their stores.

I went into Gamestop the other day to pick up some PSN credit, and I swear the bitch was dumb right off the jump. I asked where the $100 PSN cards were, and she couldn’t tell me. They always ask if I want to preorder games, and I tell them nope; I’m all digital. The dude who checked me out asked why … I told him that if he wanted to see what a 6-year old hyperactive grandson and a 8-year old granddaughter who likes glitter and unicorns do to a game disk, that they come over to my house.

I’ve heard and seen horror stories from parents during tunure of GS. I have a fear that my kid is going to put coins in my consoles and take my discs out of their cases. I have no idea where I’m gonna put all my shit but I’m probably gonna be watching my kid 24/7 until he’s 5.

I posted I think either in the Video Game general thread or the lounge topic about how my stepson and friends basically stole the vast majority of my PS3 games, forcing me to go all digital.
But yeah, be prepared for multiple disks and coins all in your shit after your child is born.

Why? I mean. I get the story is about the 4 horsemen of apocalypse and so far each game has covered a different one but have the games really done that well to deserve another sequel? I didn’t hear anything good about 3.
