Problem is Microsoft’s commitment to Windows 10 as a platform is a double-edged sword.
On one hand, it’s cool they’re bringing their big IPs and other Xbox titles that were previously unavailable anywhere else but the Xbox family consoles. On the other hand, this also means the Xbox One basically doesn’t have “true” exclusives, things that you can’t experience on any other hardware.
That, combined with the fact of PS4 simply having a better exclusives lineup, made XBO much less appealing of an investment, and buying a 300$+ machine for basically Xbox and Xbox 360 emulation doesn’t seem like a good idea either. Microsoft’s disappointing lineup of exclusives this generation also did not help the situation at all
I guess that’s precisely why they went on a studio purchase spree, in an attempt to strenghten the Xbox brand. Like it or not, MS can’t just ride off the Forza/Gears/Halo trinity 'till the end of times, so hopefully the teams that are now a part of Microsoft Game Studios are cooking up projects that will make “Xbox Two” truly a worthy purchase.
Don Mattrick really fucked up Xbox’s reputation 6 years ago
We are going to see those prices again for the PS5 and maybe the premium version of the Next gen Xbox (as MS making two versions a basic version with no disc drive, and a premium version with a disc drive).
Also want to mention there’s beena Witcher 3 for switch rumor running about that I’m having some serious doubts over for obvious reasons. That game will be digital only and prob run at 20fps. Gotta be a lot of magic to make that happen and run well.
I’ve been reading the same rumors on reddit. Apparently it’s leaked in several overseas markets like China and some European countries. Many of which are saying it’s being ported to the Switch by Panic Button. And we know what kinda magic they can do.
The cost of making it for a underpowered system is at stake. There are only so many changes you can make before a game has to be rebuilt from the ground up and there is obviously the effect of those downgrades on the customers’ perception of the port to consider.
CPU: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz / AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940.
RAM: 6 GB.
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
VIDEO CARD: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 / AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870.
FREE DISK SPACE: 40 GB.
DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 1.5 GB.
Specs for the Nintendo Switch
CPU: Four ARM Cortex A57 cores (theoretical max 2GHz)
GPU: 256 CUDA cores (theoretical max 1GHz)
Architecture: Nvidia second-generation Maxwell.
Texture: 16 pixels/cycle.
Fill: 14.4 pixels/cycle.
Memory: 4GB.
Memory Bandwidth: 25.6GB/s.
VRAM: Shared.
Looking at it realistically, The Graphics is lacking as the Switch in docked mode is about the equivalence of a GTX 460. The ARM Cortex A57 ignoring the clock speed as that isn’t a good indicator any more of processing power, comparing the A57 to a 3rd Gen i5 isn’t clear cut.
Also available ram is an issue.
Now if we go with Witcher 1
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or Athlon 64 +2800.
CPU SPEED: 2.4 GHz.
RAM: 1 GB.
OS: Windows XP/Vista.
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon 9800 or better.
TOTAL VIDEO RAM: 128 MB.
PIXEL SHADER: 2.0.
VERTEX SHADER: 2.0.
That is Very doable
Now just another reference here is the system requirements for Skyrim (2011), which did get a Switch Port

6 GB free HDD space.
DirectX 9 compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
DirectX compatible sound card.
And here the Specs for Doom (2016) which also got a Switch Port
Summary
CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 or better / AMD FX-8320 or better.

VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2GB) or better / AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or better.
Unless they rebuild it, I am thinking that it will be a port along the lines of Dead Rising: Chop Until You Drop as the Witcher 3 is relatively demanding even in comparison to GTA V, which has a lot going on.
