E3 2019 Thread: Donzo! Post E3 Conversation and Migration back into VGG

So Microsoft, what’s up?

Do you guys plan on tuning into every stream this year? I usually watch every press-conference, then watch the news outlets and publisher shows depending on game schedules, and then watch giant bomb @ nite as their daily summary shows are godlike

I tune in to every stream that I can in terms of conferences. After the conferences are over I usually have Nintendo’s stream up with looking around for news plus one more stream that I switch around to various other stuff depending on what’s happening. The only thing I won’t be able to watch entirely will be whatever EA is doing on Sat since I’ll be at work.

Also I figure this might be as good a time to say this but I’m unsure I’ll be able to cover E3 as extensively as I have done after this year mostly because I’ll be having a kid in November. Never know though we’ll see!

I only plan on watching Nintendo’s E3 Direct along with their Treehouse presentations.

If I remember it I maaaay watch Square’s. But I doubt it.

The rest of E3 is whatever to me. Sony not being there is a huge bummer but they’re trying to do their own presentations and conventions outside of E3. So cool for them, I guess.

What if because of the new partnership Sony appears during Microsoft’s conference?

Pf, no chance. They already announced what exactly their new partnership will be about. No sane platform holder would let their direct competitor have stage time during their show

There been much stranger partnerships before

Battle for the Cowl: VG Thread Edition. One must succeed Sonichuman.

Gonna be a bit hard to forbid this at this point lol. I’m still gonna post what I can and keep up with stuff but I’m prob gonna have to cut back at least for a bit. We’ll see!

That’s fine, long as I get to see more.

Dragon Quest news teased for June 10th

Which is the exact day of Squeenix conference…its not too often that Nintendo invades other company’s press conference if Mario × Rabbids is any indication then they will do it. So it’s either actual Dragon Quest info or rumored Erdrick for Smash

Simpsons writers and producers are getting a panel at E3

Probably the next DQ Heroes or Builders game + more details about the Switch port.
HOPEFULLY however they’ll confirm that PC and PS4 versions will also get the content, even if it’s DLC

Microsoft’s conference will be 2 hours long

That’s 2 hours too long.

I would agree two hours is a bit much. Unless they are blowing their wad on their next console at E3 but spending even a full hour time on a system not dropping until next year is bad form. I mean they still have Gears 5 and some third party games coming this year but once again, they should understand the industry trends, show less up front and you get more hype.

I mean, M$ absolutely fubard’ed this generation. No one can dispute that, really. Their presentation last year was also very uninteresting if not abysmal. It was just “world premiere’s”, timed exclusives, that fucking horrible POP x Gears of War game and them announcing they bought a bunch of studios they will likely do nothing with except make shit content that people will buy because they’re going by studio reputation and not quality.

This year they really, really need to bring it.
Announce tons of ACTUAL exclusives through those studio’s they acquired, if they’re ready to they need to announce their new hardware and push the shit out of it and show it off in any and every way possible as well as make sure the price point is fair but competitive. That’s one of the key things they’ll need to address if they do announce a new console. Let’s just hope if they do they don’t have it be DOA like they did with the One and the whole DRM controversy.

Whatever they can do to capitalize on Sony not being a presence there.

Their only rival there this year is Nintendo. That said: That’s a pretty big rival and dangerous rival to have.

Nintendo has toooooons coming down the pipeline this year. A lot of them we will undoubtably learn more about at E3. Links Awakening remake, Daemon x Machina, Smash DLC, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, Town and the possibility of getting release dates for Bayo 3, Metroid Prime 4 and DQXI-S.

Not to mention the rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy Port and Persona 5 Compete Edition Port

And that’s just stuff we know about. Nintendo ALWAYS throws curveballs at E3.

It’ll be interesting to see what M$ brings to the table.
