E3 2019 Thread: Donzo! Post E3 Conversation and Migration back into VGG

so the main two conferences/shows I’ll plan on watching this year will be Microsoft and the PC Gaming Show. Everything else I’ll stick to social media to find out about.

I’ll watch Square Enix’s show to see Tifa’s breast reduction live. Not excited about anything else this E3 so far.

…We haven’t seen Tifa at all yet have we now that I think about it. I don’t she’s shown up in any of the trailers since they announced it which is…strange considering that she’s a part of Avalanche’s shenanigans. I’m gonna have to rewatch all the trailers to make sure I’m not crazy on this.

Edit:

Yeah we haven’t gotten one glimpse of Tifa yet. We got a look at Seph before her. Now this has me curious as to what they are going to do with her design wise…are going to try some sort of compromise or they just going go all in one way or the other. I can hear gaming journalists getting their fingers ready right now over it.

They should just use her Advent Children build. She looked good there physically speaking, no one can claim they are caving since they gave her that body type over 10 years ago, and she doesn’t end up looking like she’s gonna have a horribly twisted spine by 30.

But yea all footage we have seen is from the first reactor raid so we only see Cloud, Barette and the Expendables, Jessie, Biggs and Wedge. Seeing Seph is new.

Since Sony is completely absent from this year’s show and Microsoft basically already won E3 - I expect they’ll jump ahead of the Japanese and reveal (some of) the details about the upcoming next-gen Xbox, while saving some of the more important infos for E3 2020, months before the expected Fall 2020 launch window

Xbox One doesn’t have much going for it besides Gears 5, Forza 8 and Halo Infinite, and all those studios MS has purchases recently, assuming they are in the full process of developing exclusives, probably won’t have much to show yet

As for the rest:

  • EA: Jedi Fallen Order, new FIFA, new Madden, new NBA, gameplay demo for the next NFS, maybe content updates for Battlefront II and Apex Legends, and an official teaser trailer for that big Battlefield V update which supposedly will bring the US Army and Japan into the fraction roster. That, and apparently they have a new Plants vs Zombies game in development
  • Ubisoft: Ghost Recon Breakpoint gameplay, some content updates for Crew 2, R6 Siege, For Honor, and AC Odyssey. Hopefully a reveal of a new Splinter Cell. Most of the show will be dedicated to Beyond Good & Evil 2 to showcase how the project is progressing. Also what is happening with Skull & Bones? I remember there was supposed to be a closed beta last summer and they’ve been kinda silent on the game since then. Did they cancel the thing or what?
  • Square Enix: Babylon’s Fall, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Avengers Project, hopefully a teaser for the next Deus Ex, DLC teaser for Kingdom Hearts III (inb4 a Switch exclusive spinoff announcement)
  • Bethesda: Starfield premiere demo, more stuff from FO76 roadmap, Doom Eternal demo, content updates for ESO, ES Blades, ES Legends. Hopefully a reveal of Prey 2, or Dishonored 3, or Evil Within 3. First DLC news for Rage 2. Still no Fallout 3 remaster btw

Man E3 is gonna be really fucking boring this year isn’t it? I guess it makes sense since it’s the last one before the next gen hype machine goes full throttle in 2020

Laughs in Nintendo.

Meh, unless I’m missing something they don’t have much to show besides Pokemon Sword/Shield, which they’ll probably dedicate entire Direct to again like last year with Smash

Mario Maker 2 details
MUA3 info
Bayo 3 info
Metroid Prime 4 info
Animal Crossing info
Smash dlc info
Links Awakening info
Pokémon info
DQXI-S info
Town info
Astral Chain Info
Unannounced projects.

Tons of stuff to go over and announce.

Bite you tongue. Microsoft Winning E3? Microsoft been loosing since 2013.
Lack of competition does not mean Microsoft is shaping up, most of there reveals been snooze fests, vaporware, or shit that isn’t exclusive to them at all. MS is going to go in overconfident and be lazy. They are still can lose if compared to all the Devs that are still there.

I definitely wouldn’t have gone that far to say M$ already won this year. I expect them to have a good show but Nintendo has a lot of stuff we know about and stuff we don’t as Stu put up. For all we know M$'s conference could secretly be one the best conferences for both Sony and M$ if they don’t have anything really to show people why they should buy their console. They’ll have Gears 5 (which I am excited to see despite not being able to play the game), Halo Infinite and Forza. Those 3 will be guaranteed and I’m not going to hold my breath on any projects from those studios they JUST got last year. We’ll see the new system maybe a sneak peak at a game and the projected capabilties through a demo and that will prob be it. I’m expecting 65% of the conference to be 3rd party games or ‘console exclusive’ content.

I’m expecting them to have a good show…just not a show that shifts most into buying their system like it seems to have been for the past couple of years.

Edit: and then we also have to consider that Nintendo possibly feels confident enough in the content to show that they’ve decided to push a separate direct just for Super Mario Maker 2.

Regardless Microsoft have GOT to know this is potentially the most important E3 in years for them, there must be absolutely no possibility they blow it like a few last times. I mean, jfc, Sony is handing them the convention on a silver platter.

Besides, MS is pretty much going to be the biggest stage of the weeked, meaning whatever multiplat non-EA/Ubi/Beth/Square announcements there are - they will all most likely take place during their presser

MS will have the conference field to themselves to announce their system or new initiatives. Whether they can win with what they announce we will have to wait to see. Just because Sony isn’t at E3 does not mean they won’t have an impact.

Prediction, Sony still wins despite not actually being there. Nindy taking 2nd, Suqare/Beth takes 3rd. M$ still dont get consumers and finishes last.

We are a tad under a month now before E3. So what are people looking forward to seeing this year?

Personal list

Nintendo: Astral Chains, hopefully finally some Bayo 3 footage, whoever the next DLC character for Smash is, Retro’s unknown project, I’d be nice if we got a teaser for Metroid Prime 4 but I’m not gonna hold out for it, curious to see what Pikmin 4 and Luigi’s Mansion 3 look like, More on Link’s Awakening remake, More info and footage on Ultimate Alliance 3, more info and footage on Daemon X Machina, Finally seeing something on Shin Megami Tensei V. Also curious to see if that rumor about Nintendo bringing a game back from the dead pans out.

Microsoft: Mostly Gears 5. Curious to see what they have planned for Halo Infinite. Since Namco doesn’t have a conference I’m hoping to see more of the DBZ Open World game here if possible.

Squeenix: More info and footage on FFVIIR, Give me ALL of that. And please show me at least a trailer for the Avengers game. I don’t need a date, I just want to see SOMETHING. Want to see more on Babylon’s Fall, KH3 DLC

EA: Star Wars Jedi Last Order…think that’s about it.

Bethesda: Curious about Starfield, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein Young Blood

Ubisoft: Not sure what I want to see from them to be honest, the new Ass Creed will be there and I’m kinda meh on that, It’d be interesting if we got a trailer for Watch Dogs 3. Almost forgot about Skull and Crossbones so will be nice to see how that’s coming along.

Devolver Digital: Interested in just about anything that they show.

I remain clinging to a small hope of getting a remake of Ridge Racer Type 4.

I mean we got DMC5, Shenmue 3, Crash and Spyro came back, Final Fantasy 7 is being remade as we speak, and Kingdom Hearts actually got a numbered sequel

anything can happen, right?

I’m just excited I don’t work the day of Nintendo’s E3 Direct.

I don’t really care about the rest of E3.

Skull and Bones delayed, will not be at e3

Honestly, with SMM2 Direct happening today, I’m mostly interested in any potential news on Metroid (Prime 4 or Trilogy), Link’s Awakening release date, and I’m hoping for some cool surprise announcements.

And DOOM Eternal. I want a release date.

Oh god dammit. That’s not a good sign at all considering there wasn’t much info about the project since forever
