For some reason I thought his diagonal j.lk got buffed.
Epitome of useless. If they want Dudley to be jumping just give him Honda’s Super j.mp.

So will Ultra 1 no longer full-punish a blocked Blanka ball / cannon spike / condor dive?
Also, shout-outs to CH s.HK xx LK duck xx super
Timing will be stricter (although Blanka Ball timing was already in the “after reversal timing” might have to wait longer)
I swear i could remember S.RH~RH Ducking comboing in super now it doesnt or maybe im crazy
It did. sHK losing 3 hit stun meant no more
sHK xx HK anything
sHK xx MK SSB
CH sHK xx anything
I keep forgetting if sHK xx MK Duck Straight combos o_O
if they do fix those, i’d rather they fixed them by buffing the start up on the subsequent moves instead of giving s.hk more hitstun or anything like that.
Don’t waste your meter like that my dude.
real talk. mr. x you’re kinda annoying me with your U1 doom and gloom. it was never hard to punish blanka balls, condor dives, PC or headbutt with U1. i’m almost 100% sure in that regard it’ll work exactly the same way since nothing got any frame adjustments (unless capcom does some stealth buffs/nerfs.) you’re making a huge deal out of an ultra that no one really uses anyways.hell, i don’t even use U1 vs rose anymore. now that i learned how to fight her, i dropped that crutch. now a days i only use it when i’m bored and feel like OS U1 trolling or when i’m fighting dhalsim (mandatory ultra is mandatory).
U1 has a couple of very good uses and I actually think it’s not good vs. Sim. I don’t know what you’re doing with it, but you can do basically everything you can do with U1 against Sim with U2. U1 wouldn’t work the same because a lot of the times when you punish moves like Blanka Ball and Condor Dive, Dudley actually whiffs the first hit or two of the Ultra because the opponent is airborne and then they fall into the rest. If it hits for a non-cinematic version like we all think it’s going to do, it will either push them out and do non-cinematic damage (most likely and a major nerf), or hit them and still lock them in (GDLK).
You forgot U1 option selects. It might hit them/some while they are still considered airborne.
If it does that I will break my CD, regret my decision a little bit, post something dumb on SRK, and then play 3s.
i honestly feel there’s more to the juggle state than capcom is letting on. i know damage properties change during noncinematic ultra juggles for other characters to allow them to still get solid damage out of it.
The way the non-cinematic ones work is basically the same as how all Ultra’s work. 20% scaling unless you’re already at 20% or below for using it in a combo. Also, they usually do as much damage at full Ultra as a super. If that’s the case, you’re losing a lot of damage for a property change that isn’t necessary since Corkscrew Cross hits non-cinematic already and we all like it. Characters get a lot of damage off of non-cinematic ultras because they use them in combos. You don’t really use, or need to use, U1 for combo purposes.
So its basically a nerf?
It was a nerf because the dev team is stupid. Apparently, Dudley players were consistently getting Shoryu’d, SPD’d, Supered, and Ultra’d because they kept throwing out st. roundhouse in blockstrings without constantly canceling into jab MGB (unless it’s Gief or Hawk). They wanted to fix that problem, which wasn’t a problem, and took something away that they didn’t even think about because they don’t actually know how to use the character they programmed for.
Cap com just released this buff, it’s so good
“Go play 3s Dudley instead, HAHA”
I like your sig PongBoom. I disagree with Ultra David though. The way to kara-demon is to play SF4 instead of 3s.
These changes were the ones being taken to the location tests aren’t they? As in, they still might change if something that comes out during testing doesn’t match the developers’ intentions. And would a Dudley player at a location test teach them anything? I don’t see his changes being overtly apparent without prior knowledge, with the exception of CH s.HK combos? Speaking of which, is there any ver.2012 footage of Dudley out there?
As subtle as Dudley’s 2012 buffs are the simple fact that he’s remained mostly the same where the top characters got nerfs at least means we’ve got a little less work to do at the most. I really don’t see Capcom reinventing the character with things he’s never had, or suddenly deciding to change some value that makes him dominate in any one area. Or even dulling his weaknesses any appreciable amount. It would be almost impossible to balance all the characters and I don’t think they’re truly attempting that; instead just trying to bring everyone a little closer together for a more balanced game overall, taking from the top few, and giving to the bottom few.
Is U1 really worse now? I initially read it as “It’ll catch more often against low airborne opponents”.
6 characters got nerfed in AE 2012. 15+ got buffed. Dudley stayed the same.
Dudley is worse off in AE 2012.
today i can honestly say, GIVE ME THAT U1 BUFF! omg. so i decided to raw ultra this rogs backdash. the os would have been too slow so i was like w.e i know he’s gonna back dash lets go. the first hit whiffs completely. balrog recovers from the backdash, and blocks the rest and i lose. idgaf what anyone says. i welcome this change with open arms. hell i specifically picked U1 cause i know this dude liked to backdash and it doesn’t even work. SMH.
