How do you lose BP?
I understand losing PP but not BP.

losing to a 12k b+ still costs me 30-40 points…
I can’t get past B rank yet :). I find it strange how much the points change between the ranks; anyone could get to B just by playing a lot but I find 10,000BP another matter, especially considering the games that give one point for a win and take a load for a loss whether or not the other player has more or less PP.
Eh, I’m not up to this board’s members’ level but in the last week or two I’ve gone from about 900-1,200 PP to 1,500-2,000 just from some advice and a little practice. I’m still pretty bad at the game imo but I’ve consistently improved week over week.
I’m guessing when I lose enough to go down to 2,500 I’ll revert to a C+ and then easily be able to get back to B at which point I’ll lose all those points again (hopefully slower) and repeat that until AE comes out?
Anybody here ever have trouble maintaining a rank or reaching B+ for the first time?
You can get to B ranked in about 70 games if played right. Didn’t have trouble reaching B+ at all, but when I reached A ranked… I fought way too many 4500-5000 PP guys so I was pretty inconsistant… plus I saw a lot of Bisons, so…
70 wins? My win rate is 48% I think; I don’t know what I’d need to get that to in order to breeze to B+. How much do you guys win, and what do you choose “Same Skill”, “More Skilled” or “Any”.

My winning ratio was 85% just 3 days ago, now it’s 65% with 1k pp dropped due to stupid shit… obv I suck so it’s all factored in.

15k bp? lol why? it still finds green bars unless you live in an area where people are just across the coast from you… I live in the East Coast and ANYONE from the West Coast will always get a 2 bar or 1 bar. But that applies to everyone.
No it doesnt, I get a green bar with EVERYONE in the US.
If you have a yellow bar you’re on some comcast shit or something.
I can play lagless green bar with more/south america and parts of europe / asia.
but ya the best way to rank is to go to Arcade mode, turn on the… rank match thing.
Set to more skilled, same region, 3 rounds… 99 time…
play arcade (do links n shit) til you get a match
check their disconnection rate, and if it’s not 0% then leave.
It’s also good to wait like 10 seconds hen you get a player in your room too since some like to lag AFTER you accept.
…Also be player one so you can pick a stage, other wise you might have a lag switch player AND be on cruise ship or some shit.

So where do you guys think Dudley stands in the Tier Lists for SSF4? And where do you think he will stand in AE? Most people say he’s low tier and a really bad character. Idk about that though. He seems WAY better than what people say. I mean look at Marn’s Dudley. (I’m sure there are better Dudleys. I just don’t know of any.) Anyway, I think he’s a force to be reckoned with once he gets in your face. If you play all your cards right and make the right reads, people will shit their pants trying to get away from him because his combos HURT! And it seems like he gets in just fine too. I don’t really know what people mean by he has trouble getting in. Wasn’t duck made for that purpose? IMO you can’t zone him out because of duck and U1 if you have good reactions. Sounds like upper mid tier quality stuff to me. Just a few questions that have been plaguing my mind.
imo. he stands low mid tier. soon everyone will know how to play against dudley. once u know how to block dudley’s hi-lo game. thats basically it for dudley. u cant do shit. a huge blow for dudley is his st.HK frame nerf. i feel that ex ducking upper/straight is a good addition for his combo ability and damage output but it still doesn’t compensate for his st.HK frame nerf. dudley is all about getting in, playing against footsie character like chun and guile is really a pain in the ass.
I guess that’s true. But couldn’t the same thing be said about the other characters? Once you learn how to play against the other characters with Dudley wouldn’t that balance everything out? Like once everyone figures out how to beat Akuma’s vortex or Dive Kick characters wouldn’t that pretty much level the playing field? Idk maybe I’m too optimistic. I’m sure there’s some more stuff Dudley can do to make him better. Maybe some unblockables? Touch of Death combos(yeah right). Surely he’s a tournament viable character.
How can you learn to block Dudley’s high/low mixup? His overhead is very fast and does not make a very obvious animation. He also has a great frame trap game with f.mk that leads into 400 damage on hit easy.

Stages have too much going on and lighting for some people’s connections.

Bottom 10 characters I’d say. He’s a little better in AE but so are a lot of other characters. His ground game is awful and he won’t be good until he gets a faster sweep and better hit boxes on his attacks.
