Dudley Character Specific Punishes

tested SSB punish, If she cr. MP cancel to spiral close to you, SSB won’t even come out or it’ll get countered. You have to block cr. MP right at the edge of its hit box to punish with SSB, so now when near max range you can either SSB in anticipation or just do st LP xx LP MGB after blocked spiral

to me that’s useless and too risky…st.hk is the way to go if the distance is close or semi-close.

SSB is good for max range spiral , not close or semi close, so now you got
Close blocked spiral: st. HK punish
semi close blocked spiral: st. HK punish
anticipated far spiral: SSB punish
blocked far spiral : LP xx LP MGB punish

Oh, forgot to put that lp xx lp.mgb works after a blocked spiral.

hey, i’m a bison player and i’m planning to go to a tournament here in cali soon. i’m trying to identify the options every character can use to shut down the EX Psychocrusher as a getaway option on bison’s wakeup. For example, after the knockdown, ryu has jump in OS DP, chun li can downforward roundhouse and kick from behind, and she also has an OS c.hk or s.hk upon jump in.

What are dudley’s options to beat this escape option? If you are extra generous, please let me know how you option select/straight up beat EX Devil’s reverse and teleport as well :slight_smile:

Dudley can punish ex pc with mp mgb and rolling thunder. Dont abuse teleports against dudley because he can punish them on reaction/os with rolling thunder/ex mgb/duck whatever. Maybe do it once in a while when he is meterless, but dont abuse it or you will get punished hard.

EX Psycho Crusher is beaten with medium punch machine gun blow, or Rolling Thunder. As far as I know those are some of them…for teleport, he can punish you hard with st.hk xx EX MGB…or grab, cr.mk, cr.hk…or EX MGB itself if you teleport farther away. His EX Scizzors kick is punished with Rolling Thunder and any other flip kicks Bison uses on dudley…otherwise, Dudley’s really shutdown by those flip kicks. Bison’s air thing…with the purple fist (idk what it’s called) can be punished with EX MGB if you’re trying to fake out dudley…his Head stomp can be anti-aired with st.mk and cr.hk depending how on top Bison is on Dudley. Dudley can duck under psycho crusher if you’re trying to cross him up with it.

That’s some of the stuff I know to beat Bison.

Dudleys should use RT in Bison matchup or just use CC

Does dudley have a way to beat bison’s j. FP? the hit box on that thing is really strange and he can get in pretty deep with it.

EX jet upper. It’s pretty much the best anti air for deep jump ins.

I don’t think anyone posted it but something quite important…

[media=youtube]KXXa1ty9Y6c"[/media] can punish EX Messiah with Corkscrew Cross. I havn’t tested it but I would think it punishes the other enders, maybe not the no ender but you can visually confirm it if that is the case and probably throw out standing roundhouse.

It only works if rufus does the following after EX Messiah

It doesnt work on reversal vs the overhead.
IMO it’s safest to just EX Jet upper after EX messiah, I used to eat bullshi- Mix up like EX messiah to ex messiah when i used to punish with normals.

Safest option is to go with the EX Jet Upper and score that knockdown.

When he has meter wait for him to up kick and FADC Backdash…
and if for any reason he doesnt fadc backdash … Hope i really dont have to go into detail

a good bison will jump in with j.hp at an angle where everything you do will whiff

this includes ex dp, you will just whiff completely

In that situation you’re going to need to air to air him with something I would think.

Ya Zangief needs to be taught that it’s not good to jump in vs you early in a match.
Anti Air Jet upper every single Jump in he does.

s.MK is a great anti air but you shouldnt rely on it all the time since its only like… 80 damage? 70?
I jump in on so many dudleys that anti air with s.MK all day lol

I’m trying to use Cr. Hp a lot more purely for damage. Standing Hp works a treat once in a while…

While I agree that it does piddly damage for an anti-air, it sets you up for a lot of stuff after they get hit. You anti-air with it and dash and you are right in the opponent’s face, which is where Dudley wants to be. You do it early enough and you can meaty a 50-50 of your choice granted they don’t mash a shoryu.

Also, for whatever reason, I just straight up have a harder time using cr. fierce as an anti-air.
