Well, the f.mk is better, that helps. I think EX duck will be good in certain matchups.

I was glad to get anything, since I like the way Dudley plays now, so this is all good for me.

If they backdash a safe jump, the don’t get hit by the jump in. That’s where the OS comes in.

depends on the character.
No need to perfect anti 4 frame every character since not all have 3 frame reversals.
Take… Cody for example, bad backdash, long start up EX Zonk with tons of invincibility.
No need to OS vs Cody just do an anti 8 framer or so. You’ll hit him out of his backdash and land safely before he gets to EX Zonk you.

Also,j.hk is not a hard knock down so yes it’s a techable knockdown. You can go for mixups when you land if they’re… you know… pressing buttons so they will quick stand. tbh they still didn’t change Dudley… but some of his matchups are slightly winnable now because of the nerfs of his bad matchups.

idk… wish they gave him invicibility on ex duck or armor… some shit, that would’ve helped him so much.

jHK did stuff HK Ruffian, but the backdash didn’t get hit and bad spray hit or traded with jHK.

Show me jHK hitting Cody’s backdash at all.

We are talking about jHK, which gain knockdown in air to air, working to hit backdashes in a safe jump. You said Cody’s backdash could be hit in a safe jump, I went into training and it doesn’t and now you say “Nah I don’t have to try anything” when I say show me it hits backdashes.

I owned up to me being wrong and admitting it by testing it myself. What are you doing? Posting memes and going “Wrooooong, lmao you guys so bad”?

Dudley Boards sure lost quality in the 2 weeks I’ve been gone. The entire board is waiting for AE to come, which has no date at all, when most of the people posting here are still playing Super and somehow all discussion is about now is online PP and what it means.

Let’s get the boards back on track and talking about SSF4 or SSF4 AE, it doesn’t matter as long as the shit going on now like the bad jokes and replies that don’t respond to a particular error stop.

Well, I finally got to play some arcade edition today. Didn’t get to play against a huge array of characters, but did get a little bit of a feel for some of the changes. All in all though, his changes did not make him feel dramatically different. Unfortunately the owners gutted the cabinet and put Happ parts in it, octo gates and all. Made for some difficulties in blocking low at times.

  • F. MP does feel more useful as a poke in general. It felt decent to use as a poke to make people nervous when I had them cornered, but wasn’t really able to capitalize on counter hit combos.

  • cr. MK feels more useful as well. You still can throw it out and get stuffed easily enough, but I was noticing those extra active frames helping out from time to time.

  • As others have said, the rose is definitely still useless.

  • I wasn’t having any problem counterpoking with buffered stand roundhouse, nor did I have any problem keeping pressure up with block stand RH xx lk ducking. The loss of hitstun essentially felt like a non issue for me.

  • The new air to air roundhouse knockdown is pretty sweet and satisfying. It is definitely a techable knockdown, but I don’t think people have to worry about people teching and doing wake up reversals. Seems like you always land with enough time to attempt a mix up or at least block. I much prefer it to the air to air reset that it gave before since you are basically guaranteed to not lose ground if you hit them with it.

  • I didn’t think to mess around with ex ducking as a combo ender, but I did mess around with it a bit in general and it does feel very different from normal ducking. It seems like it does not go the distance of HK ducking, but I am not entirely sure. I also could swear that I was hit out of it by a projectile on startup, but I could very possibly be mistaken on that one. I tried using it as an anti air and it didn’t really pan out. I think that this move has a lot of applications that don’t seem obvious to me yet or will just take some getting used to.

Other characters having been nerfed has also helped him some. I got to play some games against a decent guile, and the nerf to his meter building seemed to make some difference in general flow of the match.

Even though his changes are slight, he does feel better, and he will probably go up in tiers by default thanks to so many other characters getting nerfed.

I’mma try out AE and I’ll tell ya what I think of it. Dat Golfland status.

Is the main advantage of j.HK scoring a hard knockdown that Sagat and Ryu no longer get trade Ultra of a jump in?

Well sagat doesnt but ryu will since he has a trade dp like dudley now (vanilla trade dp)

I might be uploading a few AE Dudley matches sometime next week. Not really known around the Dudley forum but I come through here and look every now and then but I’m going to Tennessee to play some SSF4AE and I’m going to be playing Dudley every chance I can get. Hopefully one of my friends brings his camera so that we can record our matches, I’ll update later on about it.
